So as you all know I have been getting very mixed information trying to figure out what to do with my subs, my box and all that junk. Well I finally got a response from Bob at American Bass, turns out I am having such trouble finding info cause my speakers are 12 years old, although he says they are very good speakers, so I am still determined to use them with my setup. Which position do you install the kit (1 1/2); with the radio in the upper or the lower? I've always had mine upper (sometimes with 1/2 din EQ's in the lower)... ...anybody ever placed their radio in the lower position?

Going through some stuff I had in the attic and I ran across a Hifonics Thor Series VII amp Hooked it up in my truck and it works great. Only rated at 250 watts but running it bridged with a kicker 10" truck box and it pounds! Anyone know much about this relic? and of course I find it a month after buying a kicker zx400.1 amp for my Trans Am...would of used it and saved some cash.

hey firstly im new here so hello everyone as the title states i have a problem firstly my set up 0guage from batt to 80a fuse to 10a fuse to head unit and a 2guage to a distro block powering 3 amps (through 4 guage wire) 1 4 channel and 2 2 channels then 4 guage to another distro then 2guage to a hole that used to house a clip for the trim in the side of the boot (metal is thin, maybe this is the problem?). the remote from the HU goes into a 2 channel then piggybacks from there to the other 2 amps. I am ordering 2 RE XXX 6.5c sets. And am planning to use the sundown amp to power it all. Do I use the front or rear rca output on my deck to the amp. One component set in my front doors one in my rear doors. Or does it matter since I will be using the x-over network provided with the comp set.

I just got a daihatsu rocky, and the wife is going to take over my accord, so Im ripping out my stereo equipment. 2 problems though, no room in there for 3 subs and tools, and also, not enough alternator for 1150 watts. I am going to sell my hifonics amp, and put her fosgate amp and RE sub in my accord for her. I am going to get a cheap used 2ch for the comps and take my infinity amp back as well. I was thinking about running this in the rocky and either running the front channels to the coax's, and bridge the rears to one of my 10's. Okay, so my problem is that my brothers HU only has one RCA output that is currently running to the amp he had on his subs, well now we are hooking up another 4-channel amp for his 4 6.5's he has in his car now. So i need another 2 RCA outputs somewhere to go to the 4-channel amp. *Can I just get 2 RCA line output converter's and tap one into one of the 6.5's in the rear and one of the 6.5's in the front?? He doesnt want to upgrade his HU right now. Any input is always appreciated. Thanks

I was originally thinking of going with the alpine 9886 unit, but are there any other notable HU that stand with this unit. Ive looked at pioneers, dont really like their single knob and form, Ive looked at Eclipses, and I dont really like the display, But I havnt looked at Kenwoods, im sort of thinking they lack in quality but my buddy has a touch screen and loves it, so he recommended get a Kenwood. Im looking for a single din, roughly $300 which will have ipod control, and nice 4v pres.

Hello. I need help selecting an amp for a Cerwin Vega 12" Stoker. My budget is $500. I had my eyes set on a Hifonics XXV- Colossus. Supposedly it's rated 1x3200@ 2-Ohms, which sounds like more than enough to power a stroker efficiently, but after some reading in this forum, the brand now sounds like borderline garbage. I also hear that this speaker requires a very large custom box, or is that also a myth? I have a 99 Crown Vic, so space is no object. Is there anyone here that builds them, or online? If not can anyone help me with specs to take to a local audio shop? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
