When I accelerate really quick my voltage drop to like 12.Didi not do this before big three. Any ideas?

My bro wants to put a lil somethin in his boat while he is up in alaska. Since he is going to be in salt water, is there such thing as a 4 guage wire that wont corrode from the salt water?

I have been messing around with my amps and gains the past few days and have a question. I have been trying to set both amps using a DMM and some test tracks (55 and 1k hz). When I run these tracks, I can get the gain set using the multimeter, yet as soon as I put in any music cd's, it is quiet. When at 26 on my deck, the tracks read 22V and 14V for the sub and speaker amps, respectivly, yet when I run music at the same level, it only reads like 5V and 2.5V... Is music suppose to run quieter or would it be ok to up the gain a little?

I was wondering if it was possible to wire my 4 ohm subwoofer to a bridged 4 ohm - just need a diagram on how to wire it. thanks in advance. I have a alpine type-r 12" 4 ohm (SWR-1242D) and a rockford fosgate P8002 amp - 800W @bridged 4 ohm -John

I am still waiting on pioneer's avic f90Bt because they have to do a firmware update like 3 or 4 weeks out anyone else dealing with this. I have been waiting for 2 months now, any input on kenwoods DNX 8120 in how it compares Im getting tired of waiting. Should I go with the Kenwood or stick it out for the pioneer?

im gonna mix the Rainbow SLC mids with the CS tweets. now my questions is, which crossover do i use? the soundline or the countour?

Well I sold my pretty red car in my avatar. :L I bought a nice Jeep Cherokee though and I plan on getting a BTL in the near future. For the sake of my electrical, would there be less voltage drop if I ran a SAZ 3,000 at 2 ohms compared to a SAZ 1,500 at 1 ohm? I don't mind the extra $175 or so if it won't take as much of a toll on my electrical. I have a stock alternator and will only be getting 1 XS or Kinetic battery (as big of one that I can fit) that will go under the hood. Thanks in advance.

Okay, so my problem is that my brothers HU only has one RCA output that is currently running to the amp he had on his subs, well now we are hooking up another 4-channel amp for his 4 6.5's he has in his car now. So i need another 2 RCA outputs somewhere to go to the 4-channel amp. *Can I just get 2 RCA line output converter's and tap one into one of the 6.5's in the rear and one of the 6.5's in the front?? He doesnt want to upgrade his HU right now. Any input is always appreciated. Thanks

I have a rockford punch 501s bridged to a polkmomo 15 at 2 ohm and it gets too hot and shuts off after about 30-45 min. Bass boost is all the way down and gain is @ 3/4. Gain knobs r messed up though because any less then that the sub is unnoticable. I always ran it at 4 ohm before and never got hot or had any problems. Now it just gets smokin hot. At least 7 years old or so. I guess I should just keep it as a 2 channel then huh?

I havent really heard much about wiring full range speakers. I am hoping to get a new amp for my sub and i was wondering if i could wire both my front and back door speakers with my 2 channel powerbass asa 400.2 it should put out about 200 rms times 2 at 2 ohms and i didnt know if you could wire door speakers together or not.... I just havent heard anything about it. My reasoning is because they have to direct the freq to two different places so idk if both speakers would get all the signal... Lol its a noob question i know...

Anybody know of a place in AZ where I can get my alternator rewound? Because I cant seem to find an HO alt anywhere sooo I think I have to just get it redone.... any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated!

My sister just got an 04 Land Rover Freelander and I'm wondering what size head unit fits into this car. The stock radio is a cd changer that takes up far more room than a single din head unit would but I'm not exactly sure on what size would fit. Any body Know what would fit?

Just got a N1 for free.... Pulled it from a car being scrapped. The owner accidentally chopped the cable to the hidden unit when pulling it out. I looked on ebay but dont feel like waiting anyone know where i can grab one of these in ontario? Ive called around but all the shops are closed and whatnot Blech!!

has any one ran power to a 2d blazer, i all ready ordered 25 feet but im wondering if i will need to get more, i am running one line from pos to pos on my powermaster and and the pos to amp and hopefully use it for a ground too, any one from experiance think 25 feet will do it

im gonna be runnin a clarion VRX 785BT touchscreen head unit.....yellow top under the hood... and havent decided on a battery for the amp yet.. alright im pretty much decided on doin 1 18 in here and was lookin at the nightshade...the Re MT..and a couple others...wanna keepit around $800 or less for the sub and under a $900 on an amp.....i wanna get mid and high 140.s out of it at least any suggestions?

im running a power acoustik 3000 watt mono amp. i'm using 4awg pwr cable and ground. stock alt. i just pulled out my 2 12" power acoustik mofos that i was running and put in a fully loaded 18" fi btl. well anyways when i first hooked everything up it was working fine for 5 mins. then i started blowing fuses in the power cable. i checked everything for shorts, and if anything was grounding out. everything seems fine. even if i dont connect the sub to the amp the fuse still blows. whats causing this? is it because i need thicker power and ground cable?

hey firstly im new here so hello everyone as the title states i have a problem firstly my set up 0guage from batt to 80a fuse to 10a fuse to head unit and a 2guage to a distro block powering 3 amps (through 4 guage wire) 1 4 channel and 2 2 channels then 4 guage to another distro then 2guage to a hole that used to house a clip for the trim in the side of the boot (metal is thin, maybe this is the problem?). the remote from the HU goes into a 2 channel then piggybacks from there to the other 2 amps. Hey all.I have a question about wiring subs.I have 2 dual 4 ohm subs.Now I know to wire to 1 ohm i would connect + to + and - to - on each sub then run a wire from the + on one sub to the + on the other and the same thing with the -.Ok here is my question.I just got a different box today.I dont have enough speaker wire to do it the way i mentioned above and plus i would ave to run the wire behind the port and I dont know if that would be ok or not.So what i did was wire each sub to 2 ohm by itself by connecting + + and - - on each sub.SO,when i connect both subs to my amp that way will it still be a 2 ohm load or what will he load be?Thanks
