Not sure if this is the right place to post this, so move it if needed. Does anyone know if the Termlab with RTA Option (which includes the Oscilloscope function) can use a probe or does it only use the Microphone for the RTA? In other words, can it be used to test the preamp outputs and the amplifier outputs for clipping instead of using a dedicated O-Scope. By the time I price out an O-Scope and RTA I'm pretty much at the price of a Termlab. Thanks, Bob.

I have an old Pioneer DEH P930 that is in need of repair. I believe it needs a new ribbon cable, but no matter...my questions center around the deck's features. One of my favorite features of the unit was it's capability to make low bass from recordings where there was none. I never checked the output on an RTA, but I would be willing to bet that the effect is that of an Epicenter, where a bass line is created one octave below the lowest notes in the original recording (if I remember reading that correctly). The owner's manual mentions an "Octaver" function and "Dynamic Bass Emphasis"... does anyone know which of these two features is creating this effect? I called…

hi, i currently have an alpine pdx 4 100 and today i was messing around with my crossover because i was using my head unit as it and my battery died this morning so i lost everything when i replaced with and ever since i messed with the crossovers it has been going into prottection mode after about 10 mins at full volume ( by full volume i mean 45 out of 62 becuase that is where i set my gains to.) now last time it did this it was hot outside ( 97o) and today it is 92 but the feel like temp is 97 so could that be the problem. i have it mounted on my backseat with them folded up.

What happened: was running pioneer avic d3 with backup camera...one day backup camera started not working at random times and I wanted Bluetooth radio so I replaced head unit with pioneer mvh-300ex. Since doing so my head unit does not turn off with ignition (or door open+Truck off) The Wiring: I’ve checked the obvious and my HU power is correctly hooked up to red wires and the yellows are correctly hooked up as well. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'm looking at getting a Deka 9A31 (actually the O'reilly branded one that's the same thing). For my Dodge Magnum. The Magnum has the battery in the rear and I do not have a suitable place to run a second battery so I want a battery I can run alone, no other starting battery. Will the 9A31 handle being a daily driver? I came across some truck/bus forum that mentioned that they did not have good luck with them. In addition to being the starting battery it will be running a pair of Sundown 100.2's and a Sundown 1500d and I have the factory 160 amp alternator. I have 2 audiopipe APSM1300s, i was running them strapped together on a 10" SSA XCON D1 (wires to 2 ohms). So i am not sure if one of the amps dying had anything to do with strapping them, or if the moisture in the boat finally took out the amp. Basically, the amps ran fine for a couple days strapped, and then yesterday when the "Master" amp's power and protection light started flickering very fast, and the sub began making a popping sound, even with RCAs pulled out. I unplugged the remote wire, and hooked the sub up to the "Slave" amp and everything works fine. I took the "Master" amp and put it in my truck and it did the same thing. Hey guys! I have a 2000 Avalon XLS that has the stock JBL system with it. (6 disc in-dash CD Changer, factory amp, 7 speaker system with IB in rear deck for 8" Subwoofer) I thought I could handle it for awhile but i'm contemplating replacing it with an aftermarket player. I've never worked on a system with this factory amp in it. Is this that big of a concern? Or what are the workarounds for this? If its to complicated, I'd just consider running a speaker leve to RCA converter and running a sub that way and sacrificing not upgrading the highs at all. So currently I have a Pioneer 7800MP and like the availability to tweek my crossover settings. My new interest is to have a HU capable of playing DVD's but still able to have a nice crossover. My budget is only as high as $600, maybe more if it does everything I want. Similar crossover capabilities to my current deck is what I really want. I don't think I will be going active anytime in the future so that isn't an issue. The deck in the topic is what I'm currently looking at and was curious if anyone has had any experience with it. My friend just got a Sundown 3,000 for his truck. I brought up the idea of maybe trading my DD M3a for his SAZ3,000. He's doesn't care either way. What would you do and why? Side notes: For now I will have one amp on 2 ZCON 18"s at .5 ohm. Then get a second of either and have each at 1 ohm daily, and .25 for shows and such.

while i was driving yesterday my car started to make a strange clicking noise under the passanger side of the dash. earlier that day i had stopped by a sears auto center where a friend works and hooked the car up to their battery diagnostic and ran my system almost full volume for about 30 seconds. i noticed the voltage never dropped under 12 and the amperage draw stayed around 80-90 at the highest. i stopped at in and out and then drove the car home, the clicking started right as i was pulling in my driveway, the radio went on and off a bunch and lights on the dash went crazy. i have a redtop, kicker 1/0 a sundown 1500 and a re sx 15 (dual 2). it's in a 1995 accord 2.2…

I have a Carver 2090mi that I got back in 93 It's gotta be the cleanest and for it's size the most powerful little amp I've ever owned. I used it to run 2 4 ohm 12 inch kicker stilwater designs that I got in 92 and yes they still rock, I want to incorporate it with my new setup and have lost and forgot the specs. I've tried and was unsuccessful in locating them. Maybe someone from the olden days knows.

Looking at going with a 16v setup so id like to pick up a 16v charger. Just wondering which everyone prefers and why. It's in between the turbo start 25A charger and the xs power 16v intelicharger or xs power 16v hf charger. Also what are the benifits of the two xs power chargers vs each other. I have a cheap 2 channel Lightning Audio amp that was given to me. I first hooked it up on my bench to see if it worked. It did, however, it sounded like it was only playing sound that was panned hard left/right and nothing below about 500hz. I took it apart, and the ground that was soldered to the board from the RCA's was broken. If you pushed the RCA's so that the connection was made, it played fine, but one channel was about half as loud as the other. So I took a set of RCA inputs from another amp that didn't work and replaced the ones on the LA amp. The exact same situation.. One channel is twice as loud as the other.
