I'm looking at getting a headunit to play my ipod and cds. I don't want bluetooth, or anything else like that. Having an aux input could come in handy if I want to plug in my phone (blackberry) and play music off that. I'll be powering my stock speakers in my 96 accord sedan off the headunit, and then will have a sub hooked up to it (SAE-1000D to an SSA Icon 10"). I already ordered the amp from db-R and the sub/box from Quentin. Anyway, Crutchfield has the Pioneer DEH-p6000UB for only 150, which seems like a great deal? http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130P6000UB/Pi...tures_and_specs I was also looking at the pioneer deh-p510ub for 185 at sonicelectronix or woofersetc. I'v…

Hey, we are trying to pull a run of 4 gauge wire through the firewall of a 4th gen Camaro. Are there any known hole in the firewall that this wire could fit through or any good places to make one before we go drilling around.

Ok, I'm going to be running my wires soon, so I guess i need to start buying some. I'd like to use the Knukonceptz Karma SS speaker wire. I need to know what size I should be buying. I'm running 3 SAX-100.4D amps at 4ohms/4 channel so 100 overrated watts per channel. Sundown E8's for midbass, Tang Band 6.5 for mid and Seas Neo Tweets. Is the 16awg good enough or do I need to go up to 12awg? I know I'm not running tons of power, but I was wondering how much impedance loss I would be getting since the amps are in the trunk and the speakers up front. thanks.

is it the same signal as the front rca output ... i do not listen to surround sound music or dvds so will the left rear sound exactly the same as the left front (same thing with the right side)? ... reason being i have 2 sets of components in the front and have my rears running off the high levels ... i wanted to run my front components using the front and rear rcas so i can adjust the kicks independently from the doors

when my car is on and my alternator charges the battery to whatever volts, do the max amp or watts have an effect on performance. or do these numbers only apply to when you play the stereo with the engine off? im thinking of getting more audio equipment and want to keep light dimming to a bare minimum. right now on jsut a 1200 watt amp for my sub and the stock JBL amp i only get .1-.2v voltage drops. i dont plan to upgrade the stock 80amp alternator anytime soon but am thinking of getting an XS or Kinetik under the hood since my interstate keeps losing its charge after about every 6 months give or take. also i have the big three done

Hi someone locally is selling a 300amp alternator for my car, which is a 2003 4.0L Explorer. I know the guy and he said he never used it because he just sold his explorer but he bought it from a place in cali. What should I be looking for to see if the alternator is legit? what tests can I do? Or should I just get a 240amp iraggi alternator? Any input would be greatly appreciated Thanks!!

Ok so i had an AVIC-D3 while back. I liked it i like the Navi more than anything else. Barely watched DVDs on it. And I'm selling my CDA-9887 now. SO its time for a new headunit, preferably double-din. So heres my question. Whats a good Double-Din. I was eyeing the AVIC-Z2 or Z3 but its just too expensive. I've been looking at eclipse and panasonic. Even clarion for a little while but not anymore. Also Alpine has the new IVA-W505 which looks pretty sexy. So if anyone has an idea or suggestion lemme know. Looking for ease of use, good looks, and good navi. excellent sound.

So working for Wal-Mart doesnt exactly leave you with a whole lot of money to spend on quality products, espicially when you are the only one working with a wife and kid. So anyways, I've been without a stereo in my truck for almost 2 years until my birthday back in April. My father-in-law got me a Boss cd player and its already starting to crap out. It wasnt my choice but I wasnt picky when I got it. That was a major step down from my Eclipse CD4000 and I loved that thing. I've very tempted to get another Eclipse and I have been eyeing the CD3200. I had good luck with Eclipse and wouldnt mind going back to it. My local shop has also got me interested in the Kenwoo…

Would mounting my amp on the same side I mount my woofers cause any problems? I mean that would be the strongest part of the box considering its a double baffle? There's enough space to fit it there so I don't see how it would be a problem but figured I'd post to get input, any possible side affects?

So I have been given two fairly new amplifiers that have been treated poorly. My brother asked me awhile back to install stereo equipment in his car. So I did. I set the gains with a DMM and everything was fine. Well my brother decided that he wasnt get the output he wanted...I'm guessing. And turn the gains WAYYYYY up. Long story short I have two amps that arent in protection mode but I dont get any power from the speaker outs on the amp. One isnt really worth messing with but the other I would like to save. Any suggestions. I dont have the model numbers at the moment but one is a pioneer mono that puts out 300rms<one I want to save. The other is a profile that puts o…

when running multiple amps what is the best way to run (1) 0ga and (2) 4ga with only one run of 0ga from the battery under the hood. i am trying to avoid doing multiple runs (knu is 1.40 to 3.40 per ft.) or avoid using one of those cheap octagon looking blocks that has 6 different apps. i want to use anl fuses. 300 and (2) 100's. anyone run into this same problem and found something that worked better?

The other day I was driving and I smelt a wire heating up and starting to burn so I turned the music down and then my sub stopped working. I assumed my ground was bad but none of my wires are melted, my amp isn't in protect mode, no blown fuses and the sub wasn't blown. I can't seem to locate the location of wires burning and need some suggestions of things to do. I have 1 12" Q @ 1 ohm with 1000 watt Brutus amp powering it all.

I just got my amp yesturday and whenever I power on my indash or change songs the sub has like a popping feedback that comes through. I have been trying to find similar problem on here and always sounds like people point out a cheap indash as the problem (my indash is a cheap kenwood lol). What are your guys opinions.
