I recently purchased a DXZ785usb to replace my panasonic CQ-C7203U with ipod connector. Here is a list of the problems I have run into. 1) The source unit doesn't recognize my ipod. Ipod is a bit older but software is up to date. So I am just going to sell the Ipod... bought an Iomega 120 ext HD and installed all my music on it. 2) USB off source unit isnt enough to power HD alone. I bought this all in one car charger with a USB port. HD runs and is recognized by the source unit. If you switch the source to CD/Tuner etc.. and jump back to USB/MTP the unit will have to completely read the HD before playing music again, I have 20 GB used atm and takes about 20-30 se…

I'm at my wits end trying to figure this problem. I don't know it's my amp, battery, or alternator. I have one Kicker sub amp and one Alpine 4 channel amp. The problem lies with the 4 channel amp, it keeps turning on and off. It only happens randomly. I have checked all connections and they are tight. I checked all fuses and they are good. I also have relocated the ground for the 4 channel amp but the problem still continues. The gains are not maxed at all on both amps. I have checked the voltages multiple times and there are the results : All measurements are at car idle. Both amps on : 13.79 volts - 13.81 volts Both amps on and AC running : 13.79 volts Both amps on, AC…

I just purchased my sundown100.4 for my front stage. I will be running 6.5's in the kicks and two 3 inch full ways in each of my pillars. I will band-pass 3&4 , for example channels 3&4 will have the subsonic filter set at 150 hz, then I will set the Low pass frequency crossover at 4,500Hz for the 6.5's. Channels 1&2 would be set on High Pass and the High Pass Crossover set at 750Hz for my pillars. I will be running tweeters on channels 1&2 also, those will have a high pass crossover set a 5,000hz run in-line. The rest will be active. I was wondering can i use my o scope to set the dials on the 100.4 crossover, as they do…

I have a 2001 Blazer 4 door 4.3L 2WD and i think my alternator is bad. The things i have nticed are when i have the car at idle and i give it gas to about 3000RPM and let it go, the volts according to the gauge cluster go from 14.16 down to 13 volts and then it jumps back to 14.13-16 on idle. Another thing that i have noticed is i have a 1000watt RMS car audio systm and when i have my music up decently loud. My sub cuts out until i lower the volume a bit. The battery i have unde the hood is a brand new optima yellow top. The one with the light grey casing. I also have the big 3 upgrade using 1/0 tsunami oxygen free compotion power wire. My grounds on my amps are good. Ful…

so I just got the eclipse AVN 6620 installed and I have one major problem, WHITE NOISE!! The deck emits a constant white noise no matter what the volume. Its not volume influenced. I can have the volume on 0 or 80 and its still the same constant white noise. Me and my installer have tried everything from changing the grounds, rca's, ect... The only thing that stops it is unplugging the rca's from the headunit. Any ideas to stop this??? Is it a bad unit you think??? please help! thanks Eddie

There is a JL Audio 500/5 for sale in my local pawn shop for $250. Aesthetically speaking, it's in damn good condition. Has been mounted, but that's really it for scratches and such. I'm not interested in it, nor am I selling it, but figured I'd see if anyone else was interested in having me pick it up for them and them shipping it to them. Doesn't seem like a great price for it, but certainly not a bad one!

a friend of mine has a pioneer avic-f90bt and he is running a 300/4 and a 500/1 when he has the balance/fade centered, it cuts out all low and mid frequencies, when he fades it all the way to the front or to the rear, it plays at a normal full range strangest problem i have seen. i have yet to get in there for my self, but i asked him the following, how many sets of RCA are being used : 3 are you sure they are all into "outputs" on the head unit :yes did you try another amp : yes a boston 4 channel same issue have you tried another head unit : no he also stated that pioneer has a few updates on the site, i recommended he reset the head unit, and then downl…

I am thinking of getting a new head unit. I really like double din monitor head units. I have seen the pioneer avics and i really like them but i don't know if i want to spend upwards of 500 on a head unit. Does anyone know of any other quality brands for head units that would have something like what im looking for? It also needs to have 2 sets of rca outputs and 1-2 sets of rca inputs including video.

I'm looking for some good coaxial speakers. I had a pair of MTX 4 ways and I liked the way they sounded alot, however I can't find them anywhere anymore. What I liked about them were they were built tough and gave me great highs with alot of detail. Who makes tough built coaxial speakers that come in 4 or 5 way 6x9s? I was looking at Pioneer 5 way 6x9s. Are Pioneers any good? I want a good pair of 5 1/4s and 6x9s. I had Kenwoods, but those sucked compared to the MTXs I had.

I am planning on buying some XS Power batteries to replace my Deka Intimidators. I have a g34 as a starting battery and 2 g31s in the back as of now, so I guess the first question would be if I need to upgrade them at all. I will be running 2 crescendo 3kwds at .5 ohms each, a MB Quart DSC4125 bridged at 4 ohms, and a MB Quart DSC480 bridged at 8 ohms. I am rebuilding an alternator to give me more idling current, so I think it will end up being around 275 or 260 max. I am going to run an extra run of 2/0 gauge through the truck and my big three is done in 0 gauge. If I were need to upgrade and change my batteries what would be a safe amount to maintain my voltage? I…

I am installing a Jensen MCD 6115, and two Jensen power 760 amps in my boat. The reciever has output of 200 watts ( 50 x 4 ). After I hook up amps through rca preamps at reciever does that reciever 200 watts transfer through the amp? or can I still use those reciever speaker leads for 50 x 4?

I have a Carver 2090mi that I got back in 93 It's gotta be the cleanest and for it's size the most powerful little amp I've ever owned. I used it to run 2 4 ohm 12 inch kicker stilwater designs that I got in 92 and yes they still rock, I want to incorporate it with my new setup and have lost and forgot the specs. I've tried and was unsuccessful in locating them. Maybe someone from the olden days knows.
