I am planning on putting a system in my stock 05 Dodge ram 1500 Quad-cab and wanted to know if my electrical could handle it if i added a couple of batterys in the back? I don't want to buy a alt because i will be getting rid of the truck in about a year or so. the amp will push one DC lvl4XL or Lvl5 I have the whole back seat to work with for space If anyone needs any other specs just ask. I'm after either a decent 3000W rms @1 ohm class a/b amp Or a class D, or pair of class D's with good dampening factors, with about 3kw @1 ohm ultimatly. I have back at home an AA Mayhem 15", which i powered with a Powerbass xa3000D. Which i liked, but i want something to control the woofer better. I've heard US amps merlins and i liked the sound of them . They were running @ 2 ohm though, but i could run one per coil. ok, im going to be running a 15" FI BTL Ported at 33hz By a Hifonics Bxi-2608D(rated 2600W RMS) going into a 2000 Hyundai Sonata. Right now, im planning on upgrading the Big 3 Do i fuse that Batt to the Alternator or not? Doing the upgrade with 1/0 And running a 1/0 power wire fused at 300A to the amp, and Grounding it with 1/0... What is the MOST Logical and Cost Effective Mothod to Kepp it all in good standings...? Knowing that any of these methods could be inefficient for what im running, here we go... Capacitor? Second Batt? Higher Amp Alternator? Turn the Gain Down On the Amp? or anything else? please tell me what you think will be best and why the other suck balls …

I have a 1997 jeep wrangler, the stock alt makes about 90amps and idles at 14v without amps connected. If I put a h/o alt 200amp, at idle what would my voltage be without amps connected? I'm assuming its going to vary from one vehicle to another, but stock alt 90amps = 14v idle, so 200amps = 14.5v? 15v? Is there any way for me to estimate the voltage at idle?

I Have a 2000 bmw 5 series. Here is the setup: 1 15 BTL n2 fully loaded powered by a hifonics 2000.1 All under hood elecrical will be done with 0 awg ROCKFORD FOSGATE WIRING. Stock alt. (I believe it is 160amp) Either the stock batt or kinnetik batt upgrade will be used Do you guys think that the cars electrical will be able to handle it? gain will not be set to max.. hello guys i have an ap15001d, ive been running it at 1ohm feeding 1200-1400 watts to a lvl 4. recently the amp kept on going to protect mode, i use a dmm to measure voltage, shows a result of 0.00 fuse seems to be ok, so is grounding. does anyone know how to find out what's going on? thanks

I ordered a ssd15 and it should be coming in in about a week. What amp should i choose? I have been looking at the soundstream rubicon 1600d, the powerbass xax1200d, and the lanzar opti1400d. These are all on amazon for under $230 with shipping. Its weird how the least powerful is the most expencive and the most powerfull is the least expencive. But something about the lanzar has been grabbing my attention. If there are any other amplifiers in this like class and price range could you help me out and give a reccomendation?

Hello, A friend of mine is asking me what can he chose for his new amplifier. He compete in spl, but want to play music too, so I think he should not get an amp to play at 0.5v daily. He has 2 18" subs (I guess Soundstream) with VC of 1.2 ohms. He can have a load of 0.6 or 2.4 for each sub, so 1.2 ohm for both. He will keep on upgrading the electrical system, but already has some AGM batteries in the car. I just thought about Stetsom amps. What brand should we look for ? What amps ? budget : let's say $1500 for amps. He will have shipping and custom taxes to pay. He's in a hurry, because the next local comp is on 02/20/2011. If you need more info, just ask. im gonna be running 4 sa-12's, my electrical consists of 180 amp dc power alt (coming very soon), big 3, kinetic hc2000 under the hood and a hc600 in the back(all i could fit) so with that electrical, i need an amp that will power those sa-12's @1ohm. im thinking maybe 2500-3000 watts. has to be fairly small...maybe like 12 wide by like 22 long or so. i was gonna get the AP3000 but i dont have room for it unless i mount it on the backside of my box and i really dont want to do that. so any suggestions for amps that fit that criteria that will run with little to no voltage drop on my electrical in the 350 dollar range? i was thinking AQ2200D but i think the sa-12's would l…

Alright this is probably a dumb question but im really new to car audio and want to make sure i dont mess anything up, especially when im working with so much expensive equipment. I have a sundown SAX-50.4 that i plan to power my Morel tempo6 2-way component speakers. I'm wondering what the best way to wire to my crossovers would be. Im confused because i have the 4 channels but only 2 crossovers, so would i bridge them? and how would i do that correctly so i keep the left and right signals? sorry if this doesnt make sense, im sick and on alot of medication

So Shizzzon got my attention with some cheap 4/0 gauge he got. I'm thinking of adding a couple of 4/0 grounds and a couple 4/0 runs from alt to my front batts. I have never worked with the stuff before. I will be upgrading my alt to a 400 amp eventually so I'm trying to plan ahead. Since the length of these runs will be shorter than 6-7 feet will there be any benefit vs 0 gauge? Is there a way to fuse 4/0 wire? Also what lugs do you use for your 4/0 wire the only ones I found have a minimum buy amount of 10?

Hey I wanted to know if I could get some help for a friend. His car is a 98 Toyota Avalon and he recently bought a 250amp mechman alternator. He switched out his old alt for his new alt(Everything on the new alternator is a plug and play), revved the engine made some minor positioning adjustments to get rid of the squeeky loose noise. We went to a bank to get some money for my brothers install he did. The battery was dead for some reason. I currently have 2 Kinetik HC2000's in my Tahoe, one under the hood, one under the back seat maybe 15" of power cable away from the amp. Have a db-starter-aternator 220A alternator (which for some reason i cant locate the one i bought from them.. maybe they stopped selling it? lol) It listed it makes its power at like 1200 RPM or something.. should have never bought it.. but thats what I have, I took the voltage meter outside today and looked at both battery's.. Car not started in over 24 hours the battery under the hood was sitting at 12.6 with the vehicle off.. back battery at 12.5. turned the vehicle on which had the rpms at like 1300 or so since it wasnt warmed up.. s…

Did some testing this morning on my electrical. At the post on my alt im reading at 12.4v idle and 11.9v under load. Is there something on my Durango that would cause it not to charge at 14.4v at idle? or is it my alt going out? Its a 4.7l dodge Durango 2004 model. 270a Tenney alt.

Hey guys, just wondering how difficult it is to disable the illumination of the logo on these amps. I don't have one, otherwise It'd be open by now. Also, is it only the logo that lights up? I know the 08 series there's LED's as well around the border of the faceplate.

I just got my pioneer 80prs installed in my Malibu yesterday. Love it! I see pioneer put up a few YouTube vids of how to operate. Basically there is a switch on the unit itself for a standard mode or network mode. Network seems to open a lot of features up according to reviews. I am NOT running active, but would love more features to tinker with. Anyone have any specific knowledge of these 2 modes? I don't want to remove the deck to change the switch if its not needed for my setup. Any info needed please ask

As the title states Would it be possible and worth it just to use my cap as a voltage meter? I know caps are useless but i already have it and i dont want to buy a volt meter when i have one on my capacitor. So do you guys think it will be ok, iv heard that sometimes caps can mess up your electrical but not too sure on how caps work and what there designed for. Any info on what to expect would be great, its an easy hook up process and would like to use it if it doesnt mess anything up, thanks in advance

well my friend bought subs, an amp, and a box from bestbuy. so i told him to let me install it but he said his neighboor has alot of experience (which wasnt true). so any way the guy hooked it all up. he did a nice job on the electrical wiring but when wiring subs to the amp he ran the wires in series which presented an 8ohm load and the amp isnt made for 8 ohms. he was supposed to run them in parallel. im not sure y it worked but it did. then my friend said the amp kept shutin off after a few minutes of play, but then would turn back on in about 7 seconds. but my friend kept on bumpin for like an hour. then i went over there today and rewired the subs in parellel and we …

So I download a lot of mixtapes from sites like DatPiff and so on. They sound alright. I DLed on my Game's old songs today and it was amazingly loud and clear, like hurting my ears while playing. Music usually doesn't get that loud in my ride. I believe there is too much variance in mp3s. I don't remember this with CDs. Always loud and clear. Anybody here still bump with CDs? And what are some good high quality strictly CD players, if you can still get them?
