so i went to spl show and wanted to see what my two sq hds200 dual 2ohm that is wired for a 2ohm load and even checked them with d.m.m and shows 2.1ohms but my mtx thunder 1501d older style no elite suppose to do 1500wrms@2ohms with 14.4volts has 2gauge welding wire and at the car audio show it only clamped 844watts. okay, heres the score: i have two RE SX 12D2's i purchased. I wanna power them with 2 Sundown Audio 1500's. I have a stock alternator and it pushes about 160 amps. ive searched for another alt but they dont have one for my vehicle. I was told to purchase a seperate battery but i know its just another load on the alternatorso my question is would it be better to purchase one big capacitor, (i.e. a 10 or 20 farad) or just purchase another battery? thanx

I have an 05 Outback. Looking at a bunch of options. Best option seems to be Excessive Amperage who can do a 200A for 385. Anything over 200 supposedly will slip due to horrible belt wrap, and I only have a 5 rib belt. Mechman, Singer, Ohio Gen, and DC power are more cash for less ALT than the EA. So its either EA or possibly this? Stumbled across this. http://powerbastards.com/proddetail.asp?prod=Fitzall-220 Anyone heard or used one? Seems to fit WAY more than just my car. Which worry's me as far as how "drop in" it really is.

  7. So, i had my meter mounted on the left side of the pocket below the HU using velcro. well, that was late last year (cool weather), and now... Hot Weather = the glue/tape on the back of the Velcro melting. so, heres a few pics of my dash. there is nowhere to mount it that i can see. you can see where the trim piece around the pocket is a separate piecs. i have to take that off when i need to get to my HU. so i cant mount it there. ANY opinions wanted. thanks!

Please someone correct me if i am wrong, i am going to strap my Sundown Audio 3500Ds and this will be my first time strapping amps, so i need to see if i am thinking correctly. The Master amp gets the input from the head-unit and a mono RCA from "BR Out" connected. The Slave amp ONLY gets "BR In" connected from the Master amp, leave the Gain and other Filters on the Slave amp set to 0. Each amp gets its own remote wire coming from the head-unit. Each amp gets its own Power and Ground. Connect NEG terminals of both amps together using 8AWG wires Wire my subs like so; Then take the POS wire from my sub and put it in the Master amps (far left) positive terminal, then take t…

Plan on using the Hifonics, rated at 750w rms for my SSD 12" coming in soon but I was thinking about a JL 500/1 which is a class D versus A/B on the Hifonics. Is $150 a good deal for a used JL 500/1? I would think the JL offers a clean 500w and I've read the Hifonics are overrated. Which one would you guys go for? Thanks! Sunny

Let's see if you can figure this out, because I sure can't. Sorry about how long it is, I wanted to make sure I was thorough. Here's some background: -I drive a 2006 Nissan Sentra. -I have a Fi BL 12 powered by a SAE 1200d in the trunk. Sounds awesome... ----My car has the "premium" sound system installed from stock . This means that a small Rockford Fosgate amp in the trunk is powering the front speakers. It also means that the signal for everything but the sub is being double-amped. You would never know though, the highs are clear as they were before. (More on this later) On to the real problem.. I bought a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X794 to replace my stock head unit…

  14. i have two 10" pioneer TS-W251R subwoofers in a vented box in my car and right now this kid i know gave me a prehistoric amp for me to use while i look for a new one. (im not even going to say what the old one is... its a joke and doesnt nearly cut it, ill leave it at that) so right now im in the market for a good durable amp that is not going to cost me an arm and a leg cause lets face it, im on a tight budget. so what i do know is the standard stats for my subs they have a norm of 120w and a 600w peak output and they are 4 ohms. what should i be looking at? would something like the Kicker 11DX250.1 be an appropriate option? or should i be looking at a two channel amp in…

OK... So here is my dilemma. Ive got 2 - 15inch SX series RE audio subs in my room at the moment. Im in need of an amp capable of producing ATLEAST 2000 rms (true power not rated) and made the sad mistake of purchasing the power acrapstik 5500D rated at a rediculous 3200RMS but im not even able to pull 1KW off it by the sounds of it. I guess ile eat the cost of the current amp but what do you guys think of the MA audio 4000D's? My old amp was a rackmount amp from MA and felt like it did near rated pushing my two bostons and i was fairly pleased with the clean output. So heres what it comes down too... Should i purchase for 450 shipped a refurbed 4000D rated at 4000RMS X …

Hey everybody! I've narrowed down which subs I want thanks to the help from members of the board, so thank you to those people! I will be running 2 15" AA Mayhems. Now for the amp(s), I would like to run 1 amp as opposed to 2. I was refered by one of my friends to check out the Cadence ZRS-C6...any input on this amp? A friend of mine owns a shop and they those amps run for around $1599 (Canadian). He also told me about the Earthquake PH10000D which retails for $1299 (Canadian). Any input on this amp? Also, if there are any other amps I should keep in mind around the 5000-6000wrms @ 1 ohm range, please inlighten me! Thanks, Andrew

  18. Ummm. I redid my big three. I was making a tutorial for YouTube.I added, didn't replace the original wires. In 1/0 i did alt positive to battery positive, battery negative to chassis, battery negative to engine block, engine block to chassis i guess its more of a big four. And battery is kinetik 800. And for a couple of days it was alright. But then I noticed it was having problems turning on, it would crank an extra 2 times or so. Now it doesn't start without me getting a battery charger. Voltage says 10.7 but once I charge it goes as high as 15.8 ? And then it starts up fine. I did some research, I'm still researching... Some forums in hondas, people say its the eld (…

I have a 99 Siverado LT 5.3. I upgraded big 3, 220 amp alternator, 2 extra kinetik 1800's, running 0 ga wire. I only have a rockford T10001bd,pushing 2 T110's, and a rockford T600-4 running MB quarts 5.25 in kick panel and 6.5 mid bass in doors. Lights still dim when bass hits going down the road. I don't know what else to upgrade to get it to stop. All grounds seem to be good. I was looking to upgrade, that's the reason for 2 kinetiks, but if lights dim with what I have it will go black if I upgrade. Any help on what could be going on. Thanks

Hooking my brother up with my 15" Fi Q (basic) and its being powered by a RD 1000.1D doing 1000 at 1 ohm. Looking to get an amp kit for him and I can't remember whether or not to use 4 gauge power wire or higher? Also, the amp has 30Ax3 fuses for a total of 90 amps so I'm assuming I need a 90 amp fuse for the power cable? Reason I'm asking is because the knukonceptz kit I was looking at comes with a 120 amp fuse. Just a few simple questions.

  25. I was just wondering if 4 of these batteries will be good for a car audio system. 2,000 watts RMS? This is the only best battery that I can fine in my own town. I can't get XS Power or anything like that. They do sell Kinetik at this one place but they are marked up 50% higher then SonicElectronix & I don't want to mail order any car batteries. There Shuriken batteries at another store too. there marked up high like the Kinetik. I like to buy them in store, If anything gose wrong with them. I can just drive to the store & return it.
