I'm wondering will a active head unit solve my problem. I have a jbl gto 1201.1 II and it doesnt have a subsonic filter. I probably going to get a Alpine 9887.

i have a nightshade v1 15 and a rd1750.1 amp right now i have my nightshade wired at two ohms but i got the rd because i was told it was .5 stable i have 0 guage throughout big three and 200 amp ho alt will that be good enough electric to safely run this amp at .5

Hey everybody! I've narrowed down which subs I want thanks to the help from members of the board, so thank you to those people! I will be running 2 15" AA Mayhems. Now for the amp(s), I would like to run 1 amp as opposed to 2. I was refered by one of my friends to check out the Cadence ZRS-C6...any input on this amp? A friend of mine owns a shop and they those amps run for around $1599 (Canadian). He also told me about the Earthquake PH10000D which retails for $1299 (Canadian). Any input on this amp? Also, if there are any other amps I should keep in mind around the 5000-6000wrms @ 1 ohm range, please inlighten me! Thanks, Andrew

So I have the LC2i LOC. It says to use a 1 to 2 amp fuse for the power. Is this really needed? Someone I spoke with told me they don't think its required because the fuse on main power should act as fuse. And if an issue occurred then it should pop the fuse on the main power line. Is that correct? Just wondering if I should go find a 1 amp fuses?

Will this line driver take the place of a healthy 4.5 pre-out voltage that would be otherwise coming from a deck? I have heard the headphone jack of an ipod has 60 miliamps of current at full volume and im trying to boost that up to what would come out of a deck, effectively eliminating the deck. And if It can supply that voltage, can I max it out to ten volts and then run two Y splitters off of the output side of the line driver? giving me two sets of RCA's at 5 volts off of one ipod headphone jack? thanks all

i have two 10" pioneer TS-W251R subwoofers in a vented box in my car and right now this kid i know gave me a prehistoric amp for me to use while i look for a new one. (im not even going to say what the old one is... its a joke and doesnt nearly cut it, ill leave it at that) so right now im in the market for a good durable amp that is not going to cost me an arm and a leg cause lets face it, im on a tight budget. so what i do know is the standard stats for my subs they have a norm of 120w and a 600w peak output and they are 4 ohms. what should i be looking at? would something like the Kicker 11DX250.1 be an appropriate option? or should i be looking at a two channel amp in…

okay, heres the score: i have two RE SX 12D2's i purchased. I wanna power them with 2 Sundown Audio 1500's. I have a stock alternator and it pushes about 160 amps. ive searched for another alt but they dont have one for my vehicle. I was told to purchase a seperate battery but i know its just another load on the alternatorso my question is would it be better to purchase one big capacitor, (i.e. a 10 or 20 farad) or just purchase another battery? thanx

I'm a little bit confused about how to wire the RCA's. They have basically 6 sets of preamp outputs with some labeled mid, highs but also some sets labeled positive and negative. The manual isn't too detailed about using the pro setup except to connect all of them. I am going to be running tweets and mids up front and mids in the back. Plus a sub(which it has 2 pairs of outputs to as well for some reason). I will post some pix if necessary. Thanks for any help you guys can provide. I have a 12'' dc lvl 4 in a box; 2 cf tuned to 30 hz. I have an audiocontrol epicenter which will be replicating fast-paced bass down to the subwoofer level (rock music). Would it be worth it to run the sub at 4 ohms as opposed to 1 ohm? 1 ohm would of course be cheaper, but would I notice much of a difference (considering the bass will be rather fast-paced) if I bought a 4 ohm 1000w amp? what amp would you guys recommend? I know a DC sub isn't the best choice for SQ, but I already have it frontstage is a pair of hertz mlk 165's powered by a ZED kronos alpine 9887 hu.

i just ordered a stinger digital volt meter and my question is ... where would be the best place to wire it to? the starter batt, the amp, the radio? im just not sure. any help would be appreciated

Finally got an email back from Fi, and they recommended an American Bass VFL amp. First time hearing about these. I've done some searching and they sound great. The problem I have is where to get these at a good price and from a respectable company/person. The prices on the net are all over the place. I was initially set on getting a Sundown amp, but now these. Any links would greatly help, I need a Christmas present for myself

OK... So here is my dilemma. Ive got 2 - 15inch SX series RE audio subs in my room at the moment. Im in need of an amp capable of producing ATLEAST 2000 rms (true power not rated) and made the sad mistake of purchasing the power acrapstik 5500D rated at a rediculous 3200RMS but im not even able to pull 1KW off it by the sounds of it. I guess ile eat the cost of the current amp but what do you guys think of the MA audio 4000D's? My old amp was a rackmount amp from MA and felt like it did near rated pushing my two bostons and i was fairly pleased with the clean output. So heres what it comes down too... I'm looking for an amp around 2500 watts @ 2 ohms or .5 ohms (but I can buy new subs to match a 1 ohm load) I'm willing to buy used. What do you guys think I should be looking for?

I may be buying a pretty much brand new DD m2b from a friend. I already have a Crescendo BC2000D. Would it be worth keeping the DD and selling my BC? Or just keep the BC and get the money from the DD?

hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows (or heard) of soundstream making good amps. im debating buying either a soundstream pca2000d or a kicker zx1500 amp. they both push 1500rms when wired at 2 ohms. naturally i would just go for the kicker because no one seems to have anything bad to say about them and are under rated, i just dont like the fact that the kicker can't wire down to one ohm if i decide i want more power. please lemme know if you heard anything bad or good about soundstream...thx-phil

I just got my 12" H2 but I have spent to much funds lately. I still have to get my components and an amp for the components. I really wanted to get a 2500 amp but its not going to happen for now. So do you think I will be missing out a lot by getting a 1200 amp? I will be running it in a 1.5 cu ft sealed enclosure.

so i went to spl show and wanted to see what my two sq hds200 dual 2ohm that is wired for a 2ohm load and even checked them with d.m.m and shows 2.1ohms but my mtx thunder 1501d older style no elite suppose to do 1500wrms@2ohms with 14.4volts has 2gauge welding wire and at the car audio show it only clamped 844watts. has any 1 ever used Lanzar's optidrive series amplifers? if so, what are the some helpful reviews on it. is it a good amp with low THD does this amp put out what its ratted? can you let me know if it is a overall good amp for subs will this thing get low and still stay warm?
