Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical

I been looking around for head units and I haven't found the "perfect" one. I currently have an Alpine 9883 and I wouldn't really buy it again. I use my Ipod and I dont like the way to select music on the head unit. I was on the Sony Xplod site and this head unit looked pretty cool. MEX-BT5100. Has anyone had experience or worked with Sony head units? Or if anyone has a better choice let me know.

O.K. I own a JL 300/4 and the amp has been cutting in and out. Sometimes the power light stays on but the music sounds as if it's muted. Other times the amp shuts down completly. The local shop that installed the amp ran 8 guage power and ground wires off my second battery in the rear (kinetic 800). Is the amp not getting enough current or is it dying? Any suggestions are appreciated. I'm thinking of saying screw the JL amps and going with Sundown! BTW the rest of my equipment is in my sig.

Anyone fix amps!?

I'm look at this amp to buy and I'm a bit skeptical because it's pretty cheap (relatively). I have done a search on here and seen some opinions but there are few and contradicting and most are from the beginning of the year so I'm hoping for some other opinions from people who have had one for a while. I'd be planning to push 2 12" Qs. Also perhaps some other recommendations of amps capable of doing 2kw at 1 ohm.

I've decided that I need to address the stock 12 speaker Sony system in my 2010 Fusion Sport. I can't believe that in a top of the line package you are only allotted options to change "treble & bass". I honestly got better sound in my 99 Ranger with a $50 component set and a pair of 6" mids, with a 5 year old Pioneer HU's eq. That being said, I DO use and have decided to retain Sync & Steering wheel controls. The only alterations I have in mind (for now) are signal processing. I am currently looking into the three.1 from audiocontrol http://www.mobileaudiocontrol.com/product....roduct_Id=14149 I was hoping someone with more in-depth tech knowledge could educate me on if this product is worth my while... I have Alpine 9857 1 SS Rubicon 502 100 watts x 2 running my front comps (A/D/S 6-1/2" 346cs) 2 Us Amps MD.1D for my subs.... I am looking to get another amp to toss my A/D/S passive crossovers and run active... If the three.1 from AC isn't gonna fit the bill what would you all recommend I'm not going for competition SQ or anything just what a nice sounding daily beater that sounds pretty darn good to the ear....

I currently have a passive front component set of Focal's on a Linear Power 1502 with TIPS mods. I'm looking at going active and louder up front. I currently have a BTL N2 15 and another on the way. I can start to drown out the fronts now so adding another sub will definitely drown them out. I have not set my mind up on what tweeters and mids to use. I have door pods already for 6.5 mids and tweeters. I have a small SUV...Mercury Mariner so adding more front speakers is not an option. Im looking at this 220 amp alternator with an overdrive pully, anyone messed with this company? i called mechman and they wanted 499 for a 1995 chevy lumina 3.1l v6 alt but these guys at power bastards want 225 for the same thing. anyone messed with them?

i dont know if this is the right spot to post, but i was just wondering if there is anyone out in northern cali, the bay area, or near the vallejo/fairfield area, that has a O-scope that can charge me to set my gains on my amp. the right way?

Anyone know of a good online place to buy audiocontrol stuff ? i was going to purchase a dq-61 and and epicenter for a great price from an authorized dealer. Pretty much the price of eBay . But seems like the guy now doesn't want to sell it to me at that price. I don't need it installed just want to purchase both units . I'm like anyone else just looking for a great deal . I recently picked up a 05 Impala, and due to a problem with my other car, am stripping out the wiring kit in it to throw in the impala. I have an Aftermarket deck in my other car (A Grand Am), but I believe it has a short or something thats screwing up my electrical system >=( Anyhow, I had a buddy do my wiring on the Grand Am, and since I didn't have a precut hole in the firewall, he ran it by the side of the door. Only problem is, in Arizona, the heat and weather is horrible, so the wire is hella faded and looks like it is being rubbed or something. So obviously I'm going to need to replace that. it says 4kwatts. I found one that a guy has that he says is brand new. I can't find much out about them. Is this thing legit!? 4000x1@1ohm at 13.8v? I'll swipe it up if it is.

My friend has this amplifier, and I've been looking on various websites, and everywhere says it does 1200 watts RMS into 2 ohms, anyone know if this is true? Because I can get this amplifier for very cheap, it has a problem though.... It doesn't turn off. As soon as we connected the negative wire, it turned on, remote wire wasn't even hooked into the amplifier yet. But anyways, does this thing really do 1200 watts RMS into 2 ohms?

Does anyone that is familiar with the Audiopipe 3000D (The one that is two 1500's strapped) familiar with what kind of current it pulls? I plan on getting one in the future, and I am trying to plan out my electrical system. I need to know what it takes to be able to back one of these suckers up. I currently have a 220amp h.o alternator, 1/0 Big 3, an Optima yellow top under the hood, and a run of 200amp fused 1/0 cable to the back.

I've got a P3002 that was missing the chrome cover when I bought it. I've searched all over, RFs site, watched ebay for about a month and never seen one. Anyone know where I could find one, or maybe point me in the right direction? Obviously its just cosmetic, but I'm in the process of a major rebuild, and am going to have my amps showcased, so it would be nice to have the chrome cover for it. Thanks for the help.

I was looking around for an amp to run my single 12 inch Crossfire BMF. I was looking for an amp that would put out around 500 watts at 2 ohms. I found the Kenwood kac-9103d for only $200 and its rated to put out 900 watts at 2ohms and its 1 ohm stable. Its CEA rated so I assume it puts out the power suggested. Has anyone ever ran one, or better yet tested one? Almost 1000 watts for only $200 from a well known car audio company just seems to good to be true. I have never personally ran Kenwood amps before, but at that price I am willing to give it a shot. All opinions are welcome. Peace, Lee

i know the 200.1 is the same as alot of 3000s out there. but Bob is claiming its 3700w lol and the new 150.1 does 3300w? last i remember the 150.1 was no louder than a mojo 2000 or crossfire..

how much is it underrated bridged, and is this 2 ohm stable bridged?

I've been watching a few videos of people using the Steve Meade/D'Amore Engineering DD-1 Distortion Detector for setting their gains and also in identifying if and where the head-unit output begins to distort (max safe listening volume). Anyone use this before or know anyone that has? Whats the verdict on this thing?
