Here's a few pics of my MB QUART ONX1.1000D amp. I got it at sonic electronix for 150 shipped. It puts out 1000 watts rms at 1 ohm. I put in a pic of the amp guts since there aren't many of this amp online

Working on buddys stereo today in his jeep. Already had 3amps hooked up and everything was working perfectly fine. Was installing a fourth amp for his bullet tweeters. After wiring everything up and splitting the remote wire again to run a strand to the tweeter amp and turned the car on and none of the amps powered up...... Anybody ever encounter this problem or has any advice of what the issue is. Fuses are all good double checked remote wiring at amps and hu. Just weird never had such a thing happened to me before with a simple amp instal nor have i ever needed 4amps either. Very much appreciate your input.

Hey guys, I have a couple of questions in regard to properly setting the gains for my new JVC KD-R330 I have a Audiobahn AS40J head unit with a Rockford T1500.bdCP amplifier, and the Xcon in a custom 6.5 cubes ported box tuned to 33hz.you can have a look on http://www.caraudioh...s/4%22-Speakers for Car Speakers I am using a DMM to set the gains and have read that the amp gains are supposed to be set while all the HU EQ settings are flat (or on 0), the volume on 3/4 the max setting, and a 50hz test tone in the cd player. I am not sure how right that is so I decided to ask. My questions is what is the best way adjust the sub "bass boost" and "output level" settings on the …

Hi i have a Trailblazer SS with Bose and Nave. I used to use the Pac Aoem gm-24 but i did not really like the output with it. I am interested in going with a different one. I know people probably are going to say just get a new HU but i would prefer to keep the stock one. I have been looking at MTX re-q 3 or 5 but i am open to anything you think would work the best. thanks

So the fan was not working off my Memphis 16pr1.5kd so I pulled it out and opened it up. Two lines lead from the fan area to a potentiometer. Then looking around some more I find three pins with a jumper across two. Next to that says subsonic on and off. I don't have any adjustment for a ssf on the outside, but could this be set to "on" then the potentiometer used to adjust the it? Or is this potentiometer linked to the fan somehow? I'll be checking to see if the fan works as I've pulled that out. If someone could link or send me a layout of this board that would be helpful, thanks! Edit: also the potentiometer is labeled vr1 while the adjustments on the outsid…

Looks like my next step will to be getting those Icons. Might take a few guts pictures when I get home after work today, wasnt enough time in the morning for it.

Would a 3 or 5 channel amp be effective for a front stage and a sub stage. or would it be best to have 2 seperate amps i saw i believe it was a arc audio 3 channel amp the other day with the perfect power amount for my current plan of comps up front and a single ssa dcon 12 in the rear. On a side note i had seen the fi ssd 12s and they look nice but there is quite a price difference and if im not mistaken they require quite a bit more power than the dcon am i mistaken ? I am pretty sure the dcon is my number one choice im just wondering how it measures up against the ssd what are the major differences?

I'm getting ready to do another electrical upgrade and have been poking around a bit. Thought I'd try out Knukonceptz's gear this go around. I saw some of their lines use compression fittings and really like the design. I've never been that big of a fan of smashing a wire in with a screw but it does work. Any experience with these fittings? Often something that looks cool doesn't always play out well in the real world. I've used compression fittings adapting hardline to braided hose and sometimes it can be a pita. Although this is a little different, wasn't sure if they were worth the effort and how secure the connection is. Thanks! http://www.knukoncep...mages/Komp…

The other day I was just minding my own business, coming home from work, and all of a sudden my car's mids and highs just stop, and my car fills with smoke. Now I'm out a four channel, and the outputs on my deck burnt up, so I JUST have bass to listen to for the time being. :l Anyways, I just need a two channel to run my Type R 6.5 components up front, so they can keep up with my fifteens Previous products that you have used: Blaupunkt 470 is the only Fourchannel I've ever used. Budgetary constraints: Somewhere around $400 max. Vehicle which the equipment will be used in: 2001 Jetta, only powering one set of components. Musical preferences: Dubstep and Rap. System goals:…

Iv read some mixed reviews.. Some saying they are very power hungry and im just not sure if its worth buying or not. Anyone have experience with these things?

Hey everyone, I was just wondering about the capability of a USB splitter operating off of a head unit. I'm specifically talking about an Alpine CDA-9886 but this would apply to any HU that has a rear USB port. The reason I'm asking this is because if I ever wanted to use a flash drive rather than an Ipod. It's not practical to use a flash drive for those kinds of decks. I'd be getting a 1 male input/4 female output cable, but I have to know if it would work first. Thanks again for the help!

Okay, so I want to upgrade my underhood battery, obviously. I was thinking about snagging up a smaller, cheaperish XS power batt for now, but I've heard that you need to run the exact battery you have up front, in the back. It had to do something with the batteries charging wrong or something, I don't know, ha. My real question is, could I pick up a smaller high quality batter for up front, and pick up a larger one for the back and be safe?

Hey everyone. Was thinking of picking up a Crescendo Audio BC2000D amp to run 1 15" sub. My question is what kind and how many batteries do you think i would need? I have a 200 amp alt. and have done the big 3. The car this is going into is not a daily driver. Mostly just to car shows. Any help would be great. Thanks

Hey guys, I have a couple of questions in regard to properly setting the gains for my new SSA Xcon 18. I am using a DMM to set the gains and have read that the amp gains are supposed to be set while all the HU EQ settings are flat (or on 0), the volume on 3/4 the max setting, and a 50hz test tone in the cd player. Do I put them on my desired point before adjusting the sub amp gains…

I bought an autotek mm 2500.1 quite awhile ago, and have been running it at 2 ohms, and it's been great. Onlinecarstereo.com claims it's stable at 1 ohm, putting out 2500 rms. It's a $150 amp... I'm hella skeptical, because of that, so I came here to see if anyone has an experience with the Mean Machine's running down to that load.

Hi, I will be doing 2 15" Icon build on a crescendo BC2000D etc in a Dakota crew cab and have two nice decks in my possession. a Kenwood KDC-bt945u and a Clarion VZ401 DVD deck. Ive done a lot of researching on pre-out voltage but have seen so many opinions to as if it really does make a huge difference or not. Basically the Kenwood has 4v preouts and the Clarion has 2v. I like both decks but would love to have the dvd screen but not at a major loss of output or sound quality. My question is, will I notice a difference or should I go with the Clarion? Thanks,

Hey everyone, I was just looking into buying the female adapter end for my '03 Civic radio harness so I don't have to chop anything up in there. Everything seems straight foward except a couple of wires that I'm not really sure how to match them up. Here's the color coordinations for each harness. 03 Stock Harness: Radio 12v: Red/White Radio Ground: Black Radio Ignition/Acc: Yellow/Red Radio Illumination: red/black Factory amp turn on: N/A Power Antenna: N/A Female Harness: Aftermarket HU harness: Power Antenna Lead (Blue) . Remote Turn-On Lead (Blue/White) Audio Interrupt In Lead (Pink/Black) Illumination Lead (Orange) Switched Power Lead (Ignition) (Red) Battery L…

So I decided on this unit awhile back, forgoing built in nav for a generally better unit for the money. Really like the interface and the Bluetooth is much more reliable and has much better audio quality than the Kenwood it replaced. I'm having a problem with the unit though. I live in the desert and it's hot like hell here from time to time. On hot days when the truck has been sitting in the sun, the radio will activate the mute until the truck cools down enough from the AC and then it works fine. It's annoying but I can live with that. The problem is yesterday I was driving in the mountains were it most certainly was NOT hot, OAT was between 55 and 42 F with the in…

About ready to start putting batteries in this compartment in my car and need to line the wall with some sort of padding so the batts are not just wedged in there around wood. I figure I might as well go ahead and get something that can keep this compartment somewhat warm so i can have the edge in better performance during the cold season for when I compete. So, any thoughts? For the side walls, i have about 1\4" gap on each side of the batts for reference sake. Front and rear, I have 1 1\8" gap in front and behind batt bank. I also have room to put something under them as well but if i do , it must be severely thin, like 1\8" thick, no thicker.

So I currently have a d2 icon wired to one ohm in a ported box running off at sundown sae 1200 v2. I also have 2 fi ssds d1(s), I built a sealed box for them and wired them in parallel; on the dmm it reads .7 ohms. My vehicle is a buick lesabre which has 130 amp alt. With the icon my electrical is great, the lowest i see is 14.0 (13.8 or so with the a/c on) at full tilt while at a stop light or something. I put the fi's in, a direct swap. I left the amp setting the same. My voltage is horrible, dropping into the 12s at full tilt at highway speeds. So i turned down the gain, pretty much a 1/4 turn back and my voltage is just as bad. My lights flicker horribly and the volta…
