I believe it's the Xtamt 1001/x amp. My config is a Xtant 604x running my highs, and the 1001/x running my JL Audio 13W7. Before the sub went totally out, the sub (lows) was fading in and out when I listened to a cd with heavy bass. That happened for about for about a month. I then hit a pothole, and the sub went out altogether. I had a local mobile audio tech take a look, he just deemed the amp as bad. I don't have to much faith in his findings, since he only used an old fashion volt tester. The one that lights up red or green. Sorry I don't know the correct name for the device. The tech did say the amp was getting power and the ground was good. He also noti…

Hey, i have two autotek mm amps. Both of them have "balanced line inputs." The plug in for this looks similar to a s-video plug. In my manuals it says that the balanced inputs accept line level balanced from 0.4v to 18 volts. Also that the XX-BLD can be used as a line driver. I cannot find the "XX-BLD." And also every line driver that i view only has rca outputs and not the plug that is similar to the s-video plug. I've never used a line driver before but i'd like to. And i have an Alpine 9855 2004 model with 4V pre-outs. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Ok I hope I set this up correctly. Got another question for everyone. Decided to make it a poll. Years ago in the area I grew up in everyone used bass blockers to remove lower frequencies from the smaller speakers 4x6, 5x7, 6.5 and 6x9's. Keeping all the lower bass to the larger speakers. The smaller the speaker the higher the bass blocker frequency. The larger the speaker the lower the blocker frequency. Till you got to the subs. Then they were controlled by the amp so none were used. I have never used them myself. But I am now finding myself looking into purchacing some for my non amped, non component speakers ( the ones listed in the poll ). What are your op…

ok so i have an Alpine CDA-9886 as my headunit. and ofcourse i have the ipod hook up so i can use my ipod and iphone. as any one with an ipod or iphone would know that it has the EQ option to use bass boost so what my question is. am i alright to leave the bass boost on the ipod or iphone? or is that still a bad idea. i'm well aware that any type of bass boost or loudness settings on the headunit or amp is mostly all of the time a no no but i've never really been sure about this. it might be different for the ipod settings since it's i guess you can say, "controlled by the headunit" or something of that wording, so those settings might cancel out. but i'm not sure. it's …

I have an older Pioneer DEH P930 with a bass enhancement feature that works like an Epicenter. As a bass lover...I have enjoyed being able to use this feature without having to add another piece of equipment (such as an Epicenter), just for this feature, into the system. Do any current Pioneer models have this feature? Do any other manufacturers build a circuit like this into their decks or processors? Thanks!

Well as soon as it powers up, it starts to oscillate on one frequency whether or not there is an instrument plugged into it or not. And it doesn't change when the instrument is played. Pretty simple set-up. Uses a simple linear power supply and an op amp as an output device. Could it be a bad input R? I had a similar thing happen with another amp when an input R was broken. Any other thoughts?

So here's the question, i just got my saz-1500d in the mail yesterday, and there is a bass knob.. i only really see noobs with one. so are they worth it, i always just tossed them. if i was to turn it up all the way would it start clipping my amp or will it only raise my gain to where it is at on my amp? i have no problem turning down the sub on my headunit.

I am looking for two bass control knobs for two kicker amps. Two questions 1) will a generic or other brand "phone line" bass controller work with my kicker amps? 2) Why are they so darned expensive. ppl are asking 25-30 bucks for them, essentially they are a potentiometer with a rubber dial? I dont see where the cost is incurred.

Can using a bass knob cause damage? If so, to what extent. Should I go ahead & set my gains to what my bass knob would normally be? And finally, what exactly does the bass knob effect? Does it stay within the preset gains? I like being able to turn it down with just that little knob, or turn it up when I want to blare it. I was thinking of setting it all the way up, then the gain to where it gets the right AC Voltage, would it be fine?

Hi guys, had this question in my head for a few days now so I thought I would just ask. I was wondering what the difference is(if any) between a standard bass knob or a bass processor such as an epicenter from Audio control. More specifically, a potentiometer vs. a parametric eq. How do they work? Do they increase voltage? What exactly is going on when you crank on that knob? Thanks

I've been looking at the audio control epicenter. I would like to put some Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Molly hatchet and so on in the cd player and actually have some bass. I know there are a few different bass restoration processors out there and I have a basic understanding of how they work. I've been searching this topic for better then a week now, but the info. I like to know doesn't seem to be easy to find. I see videos where a turn of the knob makes your subs start "doing work". Most of the topics I run across are either useless videos or "my subs are blown up". What I can't find is are they worth it? Yes there may be more output at the turn of a knob, but does it so…

I thought about using the Batcap 8400 because it would save weight over conventional batteries. It weighs 70 lbs vs several hundred lbs for yellowtops. Its capable of 8400 amps @16V and up to 9600 amps@12V. Anyone have experience with these and how they compare to batteries? Any issues w/these things?
