What's the difference besides the price? I know that the Kolossus cable is supposed to be thicker than standard AWG but is it worth almost double the price? Referring to 1/0 awg wire with an Audioque AQ1200D. Wire would be for power/ground/big 3.

Ok so I've been noticing over the past few days that when my amp is like 30 degrees or les it clips when at half volume. It'll clip like that until the amp has about 5 min of playing then I can't get it to clip? So I think I have a temp sensitive amp. It's a bc2000d made by crescendo. Does anybody elses amps clip when cold?

I have a pretty simple question regarding use of the remote gain knob for my SAX-1200D. Say I turn the gain on my amp all the way up to max. Obviously not recommended. However, if my remote gain is only set to... lets say 1/4 of the way up, would my sub still be at risk of high clipping and bad distortion ? From what I've read, the remote gain is just what it's name implies, a quick and easy way to turn up or down the gain without having to fiddle with the amp itself. So if that's the case, even if the amps gain is set to max but the remote only 1/4 the way up, it should be the same as running the amp itself at 1/4 gain, correct ? I want some people's opinion on this so i get a better understanding... So, i have 2 amps(u guys know the ones, hehe) that i need to hook up soon taking for granted they work. Now, this is how i have it, but was told to change it so they both are wired the same but have a question so here it goes. One amp is grounded through the battery bank. The other amp is grounded to the chassis. Why? Because the other amp's ground length was a LOT shorter going directly to chassis. I have always heard do not use no more than 1 meter length of ground... Why? If i use 2/0 power and ground, how far can that cable be ran using ground before a problem(what problem) arises? i have an 03 mazda protege dx...it's i tiny four door car similar to a civic in size....the alt is a stock 80 amp the problem is they do not make a HO alt for this car...i have one yellow top under the hood and i guess it's getting old now considering the voltage is getting lower when i am hittin hard.. i do have s 2.5 farad cap and i know it doesn't cure the problem! but i'm afraid of adding another battery in the trunk because wouldn't that make it harder on the altenator to charge 2 batteries?? Amp is a titanium 2400 Subs 2 15" fi Q's voltage drops to like 11.8 to 11.3 the lowest! any way of working around this? or do i need to add another batterie?

Hey guys i was recommend here by denim. Be patient i don't know much about stereos, i'm a motor guy. Here's my situation, my explorer has an xtant 3300x powering then entire stereo system. It burned out about 3 weeks ago, supposidly a shop is fixing it, but they say they are having trouble getting parts. I'm growing impatient because i have nothing at all, because i have a non powered eclipse head unit. I'd like to replace it with a xtant 603, but at the moment even a refurbished one is a little much for my budget. Could i get away with using a xtant 403 to power the whole thing? I have a JBL BP1200.1 powering a rl P-12. From battery to amp is about 9 ft and ground is about 4 ft. The amp's plug looks like its for a 4ga. Should single 4ga runs be sufficient? if so, who wants to buy some 1/0 and sell me 9 ft of 4ga??? (from the old setup)

I just installed a 10" xcon that can either be wired at .5 or 2 ohms. It is currently running on a jl audio jx 1000.1 so 1000w at 2 ohms but I really want to get a 2000w 2ohm amp. Having trouble finding a reliable amp that puts that power out at 2 ohms without breaking the bank!! Not sure if my electrical could handle .5 or id give that a shot.. I drive a mazda tribute stock 110 amp alt and stock battery... Don't really think I can do over 1000 @ 0.5ohm

Alright guys, I was helping my friend install a system in his HHR that he just got, and he wanted to keep the stock headunit. I don't know if the problem is because of the factory headunit not excepting the line out converter or what. The problem is that once we installed the line out converter to the proper wires the front 6 1/2's stopped working. We tapped the rear speakers for the line out converter. I did not solder the wires I don't think that is the problem though. The thing that is weird to me is that the tweeters still worked, the rear speakers still worked, and the sub and amp worked. I am currently on my third high output alternator in this car. Both my yellow top under the hood and xp3000 in the trunk have been tested for bad cells etc. they are each fine. There is no indication of belt slip occurring whatsoever not even silent. Big three upgrade is in place. The alt charges perfectly fine for a week or so then just stops putting out amperage as if its a regulator gone bad or rectifier bridge that's somehow over worked itself. Besides mounting it there is a run of positive to the battery from the charging stud and a one-wire charge lead that I splice into a 12v connection for the regulator to operate off of so I don't understand where the issue is co…

Hello, I have problem with choosing speakers (I'm just new in car audio), but I got 2 power amplifiers - CONCORD CA 2075 (300W),they are both 2 channel. One of them is bridged and connected to bass tube (raveland 400W). Second one will be connected to 4 speakers (2 x front 165mm, 2 x rear 130mm) , and I need to buy them, but I don't know how to compute how much Watts those speakers should have when i will connect them to this 300W power amplifier, which would have 2 speakers connected to + and - "left" and next 2 speakers for + and - "right". I've been looking for a big 5000 or 6000 watt amp kit. Do they even sell any kits like that, or do I need to buy all the wires and cables ect. separate? I'm running an Atomic AT-5000.1D I'm looking to buy one of the best amp kits to run with this amp. Basically because, I paid all this money for this amp so I don't want to get a cheap amp kit. Though I have a ton of old Sony ES head gear in my collection, I have decided to go modern for my wife's ride, a 2003 Aviator. I am pretty much sold on a touch screen double din unit, but I have been out of the "game" for so long that I really dont know what is "quality" anymore. I have been looking hard at the Alpine INA-W900BT.....but it only has 2volt outs??? Well, I got a new car yesterday and I am in the process of making the exhaust more quiet, but I am trying to figure out what I should get system-wise, as I have pretty much been out of the loop for a year or so. ok so i finally get my SeXXX in the mail, haha so i got me alil box ready so i hook it up, want to hear it better so i take a drive and crank it up a bit, as i'm increasing the power click, it cuts off, so i go check it out and all 3 fuses are blown...so i check my connections it's all good, i go back to my amp open it up, and the piece that holds the fuses in parallel i believe one of the pieces was off so it was all running through one piece instead of being regulated between 2 pieces... Hello, A friend of mine is asking me what can he chose for his new amplifier. He compete in spl, but want to play music too, so I think he should not get an amp to play at 0.5v daily. He has 2 18" subs (I guess Soundstream) with VC of 1.2 ohms. He can have a load of 0.6 or 2.4 for each sub, so 1.2 ohm for both. He will keep on upgrading the electrical system, but already has some AGM batteries in the car. I just thought about Stetsom amps. What brand should we look for ? What amps ? budget : let's say $1500 for amps. He will have shipping and custom taxes to pay. He's in a hurry, because the next local comp is on 02/20/2011. If you need more info, just ask. So I just purchased this subwoofer Sundown SA12 v2. D4 RMS power 1000watts I have a sundown saz 1500d v.3 but I feel like it's a bit much Specs for amp 2ohm =3000watts x 1CH 1ohm= 1500watts x 1CH 4ohm= 400watts x 1CH What amp would you recommend for this single sub?

Alright most likely this amp will be powering 2 12" SS RL-P's in a box between 1.75-2^3ft with 20-24^2in of port per sub...tuned to 34hz... Here are the amp choices..price range is under 360.... 1.)Orion 2500D(refurbished from Ikesound kinda worried about that) will be used @ 2 ohms 2.)MA Audio HK-1398 which is 600x2 @ 1ohm stereo, and 1600x1@ 2ohm mono... 3.)Hifonics BX1605D which is 1600@1ohm. im using a crappy boss flip out head unit. and my system getting to loud to where it is shutting my head unit off until i hit the power button on. any suggestions on what is the best head unit to get?
