So I go to put my 3400 in after charging. It took it off the charger put it in the car check it with a DMM and reading 13.7v or so. So I hook everything up and start the truck. Voltage reads 15.1 then down to 14.8 on my stinger meter. I go to check my 3400 with a DMM and it reads 13.78v WTF. So I check my amp wires they read 14.8 WTF. So I check the 3400 again it still reads 13.78-13.79. Then I check my stock it's reading 14.8. My wires are ran like this Alt POS to POS on 3400 Alt POS to POS on stock POS from 3400 to POS on amp. My questions are. Is my amp wires reading 14.8 but my 3400 is reading 13.78? Is it because my 3400 is fully charged so it's not accepting the c…

I have a cheap 2 channel Lightning Audio amp that was given to me. I first hooked it up on my bench to see if it worked. It did, however, it sounded like it was only playing sound that was panned hard left/right and nothing below about 500hz. I took it apart, and the ground that was soldered to the board from the RCA's was broken. If you pushed the RCA's so that the connection was made, it played fine, but one channel was about half as loud as the other. So I took a set of RCA inputs from another amp that didn't work and replaced the ones on the LA amp. The exact same situation.. One channel is twice as loud as the other. I havent really heard much about wiring full range speakers. I am hoping to get a new amp for my sub and i was wondering if i could wire both my front and back door speakers with my 2 channel powerbass asa 400.2 it should put out about 200 rms times 2 at 2 ohms and i didnt know if you could wire door speakers together or not.... I just havent heard anything about it. My reasoning is because they have to direct the freq to two different places so idk if both speakers would get all the signal... Lol its a noob question i know...

I installed my Alpine 9887 the other day and plan to mostly use my Samsung Galaxy to play music with it. I bought an AI-net to 3.5mm jack to plug the galaxy to where the CD changer would normally plug into. Here's the problem; it plays music, but no matter what source I have selected on the 9887, so it plays over the CD if the deck is playing a CD. If i select AUX in on the deck it only plays the Galaxy's music, but my subs don't seem to be playing at all. I've got AUX turned "on" on the deck, and the digital AUX turned "off". Sub level is turned up to 15, they play fine while playing CDs. Would swapping my AI-net -> 3.5mm jack to a AI-net -> female RCAs and adding …

I have one SAZ 1500v.2 and I also have one Crunch GP3000d-Pro. I need to power 2 FI Q's and was gonna run the Crunch amp but appearance wise two matching SAZ1500's would look much better. The subs are Dual 1's so I would have to run the Sundowns at .5ohm to get a 1 ohm load but I would be easy with the gain knob and also will have the electrical to back them up. Anyone see a problem with this other than warranty issues. Curious what to do. I know both will do work but Im sorta torn. Im thinking the 2 Sundowns may sound cleaner but at .5 maybe not? My trucks interior is all black, lol

My Alpine PXE-H650 processor will not do a hard reset. According to alpine, I need to hold down the reset button for 10 seconds and it will do a factory reset. This does not happen with mine. I spoke with technical support twice today with no avail. Does anybody know where I can get a copy of the firmware for it? I really do not want to send my processor to them. Thanks!

So is there any way i could hook up something so it would be like running 2 4 ohm subs at 2 ohms? I have a single 4 ohm sub and i was wondering if you could put something with it to be able to change the resistance.. Like idek what a resistor really is but it kinda sounds about right... This is probably impossible but i wanted to ask before i recone my sub to single 2 ohm for a third of what i bought it for.. Thanks for any help. This post is really just my imagination at work... Some of you may remember the build I did for my sister in her 2002 Durango and the resulting review I wrote for her 12" DCON afterward, may not. It currently consists of a Kenwood KDC-X493 HU, Phoenix Gold RSD 6.5 components in the front, JBL GTO 6.5" coax's in the rear doors, the DCON all powered by a Hifonics ZXi8010 five channel amp. Now, I mentioned in the review that it was easy to reach the limitations of the amp and hear it through either the highs or the sub. We did a little playing around recently and connected that DCON to my Sundown in the van and there was a night and day difference. I have a Alpine CDA-9887 with the imprint unit and I was wanting to know if somehing was possible. I do not run any speakers off the deck and I have the power IC disabled. I have two amps installed right now and hooked up with the RCA's. What I want to know is can I turn the Power IC on and use the speaker wire outputs off the Alpine deck as high level inputs for a third amp and will the Imprint work using both low level RCA's and High level Speaker wire outputs.

so i was surfing the web and came across another forum were a guy says he wired 3-diodes together and put it on his electrical and it went from 14.10 to 15.45, so my ? is what exactly causes this to work and were do you wire them in at? it looked as tho it was on the alt, wiring?

My birthday is coming up and id really like to increase my power to my sub as much as possible with $200. I currently have a power bass 400 rms at 4 ohms. My sub is single 4 ohm. Rated for 500rms. But id like to give it quite a bit more. Whats the biggest amp i can get for 200? I have a fi x12. In a ported box tuned to 33 ish maybe a tad higher. But i dnt play it at high volumes for more than maybe 10-15 mins. So im not too worried about anything blowing. I was thinking about geting a recone and try to recone it to dual 2 ohm.. I have a 18" Fi SSD d2 running off of a Powerbass ASA 400.2. The sub is wired at 4 ohms right now and was actually only running on one channel of the amp and getting 100 watts. I just changed it to bridged because I just now realized it supports 4 ohms. It's rated at 400 watts when bridged. My gain when only running it on one channel had to be almost all the way up for the sub. Is this because it was only getting 100 watts ? I still wouldn't think it would have to be turned up so high. I have read on a few websites the pro's and con's of D class and Class AB, right now I have a US amps md42, and I am looking to buy a new high amp and really want to try a D class. Anybody out there have any real world experience or advice? BTW, I would like between 150 and 225 watts per channel @ 4 ohms. Looking for a 4 channel. Thanks for any help.

So Shizzzon got my attention with some cheap 4/0 gauge he got. I'm thinking of adding a couple of 4/0 grounds and a couple 4/0 runs from alt to my front batts. I have never worked with the stuff before. I will be upgrading my alt to a 400 amp eventually so I'm trying to plan ahead. Since the length of these runs will be shorter than 6-7 feet will there be any benefit vs 0 gauge? Is there a way to fuse 4/0 wire? Also what lugs do you use for your 4/0 wire the only ones I found have a minimum buy amount of 10?

I was just wondering if 4 of these batteries will be good for a car audio system. 2,000 watts RMS? This is the only best battery that I can fine in my own town. I normally like to try to figure things out by my own but I'm not sure how to solve this problem. My front speakers are making high frequency noises that get higher as my RPM increases ever since installing a different amplifier. This is what I've done to try to isolate the problem/ information that may help: 1) Amplifier = JBL gtq200 2) speakers = Boston Acoustic pro60se 3) Before putting the speakers on the JBL, they worked fine for months. 4) I used the same set of RCA's on both the JBL and my other speaker amp (Pioneer). i installed the audiocontrol epicenter today, and it did well on what i want it to do, add bass to the mexican songs i hear, but when i wanted something low, like jeezy or decaf music, i was dissappointed, it didnt hit that low as before, the subsonic filter is at 33hz, which my box is tuned at 33hz, how can i buy a new subsonic filter that would be lower than 30 thanks
