I have 2 FI BL 12's hooked up to a Hifonics 2500, running at 1ohm. They seem to max out with my stock electrical (granted i have the big 3 and 2 yellowtops in the back) Am i getting the full power out of the amp? I hooked the subs to my buddies car who is running full electrical and 3500 rms and it was insanely louder. What can i do to get more towards his level or atleast max out my amp to give the full 2500 rms to these subs...

heey guys i have a Fibl 18un wiht cooling dual 10hm to a jbl gto1200 amp going at 1200watts rms. so orginally i set the gain by ear and had it at little less then 3/4s of the way. Then i set it using the voltmeter and play a 50hz tone with my radio volume 3/4 and i set it to 47 My math for it was 1200X2 then take square root u'd get around 49. but when i did that and played bass i love you at about little less then 3/4 it was barely flexing before it was just dancing adn it not as loud and it sounded like there was more stress on the sub. Got any advice?

I have been thinking about making some quality Big 3 kits, and just want to kind of take the forum's temperature about the idea. Ordering will be easy, simply give me the three lengths you need from mounting hole to mounting hole(for me, this will = terminal hole to terminal hole). Here's a rundown of the parts/process. 1) Wire being used will be the new black Audio Technix 1/0 CCA wire. 2) Terminals will be tinned copper to resist corrosion. 3) All wire/terminal connections will be crimped via a hydraulic crimper for a connection that will never wiggle loose or back out. 4) All connections will be finished with some black heat shrink tubing for a clean look. Do you guy…

Ok, i've never ran multiple and have come to a barricade here so fill me in. 1 battery up front, 5 batteries in the rear. 400A for bass, 90A for mids\highs. Total Amperage fuses needed- 490A ~ 500A. Ok, first off- I'll have 3-4 runs of 3/0 wire going from front battery to rear battery bank. Right now, i just have 1 3/0 wire ran which is fused with ANL fuse and no fuse at other end because everything is dismantled right now. With 3 runs, i was going to attempt to use a bat terminal that had 3 1/0 connectors on it. I run the alternator to one of those leaving 2 left. The factory electrical wiring goes into the other slot leaving one left. I'm assuming i'll use a distro blo…

Ok, so this is my firts time actually building a legit system. I had 2 sundown sa 12's before but it wasn't enough so I'm going with Zv2 12's. I plan on running them off of a Crescendo BC3500D @ 1ohm. I have the Big 3 done in RF 1/0. The 1/0 going to the back will be replaced with something OFC. But other than that what will I need to sufficiently power this amplifier?

Knowing I would at the very least replace the factory speakers in my 2008 Mazda MX-5 Miata I did not go with the Bose System when I purchased the car. It does have the PRHT or power retractable hard top as well as system controls on the steering wheel which is why for now I am going to try to keep the factory head unit. A couple of local installers have suggested I replace the current four speaker system with a better component system and amp. The factory four speaker system is all in the doors and consists of a a 3 1/2 tweeter and a 5 x 8. I need the little bit of trunk space I have so a sub box and amp board in the trunk are out. I have a passenger enough that a sub …

I've searched here and there, been to the12volt, etc etc etc. I'm still a little bit confused on how exactly to wire three amps with one remote wire. I've photochopped something from the12volt to illustrate my issue. Not much of a photoshop, but you get the idea. The question is this: Do I splice each remote wire from the three amps into the same single wire coming from the relay? Thanks for any advice.

Could this be why my amp cuts on and off and goes into protect? I didn't pay it any attention before because the filament or whatever is in the center wasn't broken.

Huge disappointment on this purchase, went to hook up my amp yesterday get to the point to install the 100amp fuse block... Epic fail! Both Alan wrenches I received wouldn't fit, had to cut down my 4awg wire to make it fit in the fuse block, pretty much they give u a 10awg fuse holder for a 4awg kit, Why kicker why? Hmmm last time I checked I wasn't trying to have a Mickey Mouse system, thanks kicker..... Js I expect that trash if I bought it from eBay... This was a retail store purchase, yes I went back all the 4awg kits were this way... Recommended fuse block ? Post opions thanks

I started this topic because I've seen some negative remarks around the internet about their products but not necessarily(sp) why. I personally own two Nine.1's and a Nine.4. I'm not trying to start anything in any way or any kind of fight or flaming, I just want to know why some people don't like them. I'm thinking of running new amps and I'm trying to decide if its worth it or keep what equipment i got. Personally I'm happy with them and thats what matters, but I just want to hear from other views. Mods- like i said I'm not trying to cause any problems just looking for the stereo community's thoughts. I'm sorry if this post is against any rule and please delete or lock …

Greetings all, it's certainly been a while. Right now I'm leaning towards using a Kicker Comp RT (12") in my Tundra CrewMax (most likely in the box by Kicker). It's rated at 800 RMS (1600 Peak) and I am looking (as most of us are) for a quality, budget amp to power this. Any recommendations? I've come across Planet Audio, Power Acoustik, and a few other brands that seem reasonably priced. Also, any experience with this sub or setup? Many thanks.

So I am off on my way to school when all of a sudden my car decides to play games with me...Ok so I let it go but then it kept doing it and over and over till it got a little serious. It started to reset the head unit by turning it off and then back on. My engine check light was blinking repeatedly. My ABS lights came on. And my power steering gave out but some how managed to come back. I called my brother up and he told me that I should clean all the ends of the wires and clean the terminals of the battery up front. So I did. Works like it was never even broken. Then after driving around for a half hour seeing a movie with my girlfriend, we chilled at her place. She nee…

Hello, I have two 12" SSA GCON dual 4ohm vc subwoofers in a sealed box I made. (750w rms each) I was previously driving each subwoofer with an Infinity Kappa One amp, 800W @ 2ohm, but my stupid pre-out adapter decided to push 12V to the amps, frying their input circuitry. So I guess I need a new amp or two, and was wondering recommendations, and what info you need in order to give good advice. Car: 2011 Dodge Charger Hemi Sound deadened trunk (2-3 layers ballistics damper) Wire: 1/0 KnuConcepts to the amp, 10 gauge to the speakers Speakers: Two 12" SSA GCON dual 4ohm voice coils, 750W power handling, RMS Enclosure: wedge shaped, dual 12", 1.5^3 foo…

I have a feeling this is a pretty common problem that some of you have dealt with. So hopefully you can help me. I have a Fi BL 12 running off a sundown sae1200d. And when I play it at full tilt at idle, I get voltage drop into the 13.0 range (and sometimes even a bit less D:) Although when driving or holding the revs at about 2k, the voltage has no problem sitting at 14. I'm pretty sure this is an alternator issue. But ive heard that even HO alternator have poor output at idle. So what do I do? FYI- big three is done. And all wiring is in 1/0 Also, I currently have a quote from Excessive Amperage for a 200 amp alt for $385. Thanks in advance.

Just ordered up my HO Alt from www.mechman.com =). This guy was referred to me by scottiej from powermaster and he has like every alt ya need and they are darn good prices. Got a 250 amp alt btw =). I guess they aren't like regular HO Alts that just get the windings replaced... they are actually like larger alts that fit into the stock locations and don't sag at low rpms like most HO's do. Great guy and I would recommend him to anyone =) THANKS SCOTTIE!

Okay so I'm trying to get a estimate of how much wattage I can safely put out without harming my amp's by the voltage dropping. I have a relatively small car, it has a 70 amp alt and I'm not sure about the battery. I was originally going to just run 1000watts on stock electrical but I figured if I upgrade my electrical I can go a little bit bigger. Now lets say I do the big 3 on my little car and I add a deep cycle battery in the back for the amp, how many more watts would I be able to run? And one more thing when you have a voltmeter what is the danger zone in volts? I think it was 11?
