  1. I have seen linked amplifiers, when connected both 1ohm by 1ohm make 2ohm. But is it possible to connect it parallel so both make 1x1=0.5ohm load at the end? Thanks.

basically i just wanna no all the wires i will need for my system consisting of 2 subs, 2 amps, components, and a big 3 upgrade. what i have listed is: 1/0 knukonceptz power/ground for the amps to the battery and the big 3 upgrade. 10 gauge speaker wire for the amp to the speakers. 1 question i have about the speakers is do i hook up the crossover to the amp then the crossover to the speaker? and all with speaker wire? also do i use RCA cables or speaker wire to connect the sub to the amp? and finally do i use RCA cables to go from the amps to the head unit? if i got anything wrong please tell me. any help is appreciated!! thanks!

So i currently have an aq2200 and i am wanting to get more power. So i was thinking about selling or trading my current amp for either a crescendo bc3500 or an aq3500. But i was thinking maybe i should just buy another aq2200 and strap them. Only thing is i have no clue on how to do this and would not want to mess things up. Is it hard to strap amps and would it be worth to strap them?

  8. Simple question really. I know setting your gain with HU at around 75% is going to give you the best voltage output without distortion from your HU to your amp. That being said, with my current Grand Cherokee Limited infinity stock speakers 75% sounds like ass. (stock speakers get too loud) Btw, I'm setting the gain for my sub amp a RD 1750.1 at .5 ohms to a Treo SSX 12 with a Shuriken BT100 in the back. All 0 gauge and big 3 is done. HU is Alpine CDA-9886 with Subwoofer level and Bass/Treble. Also has a HPF which I'm not too sure actually does anything. I thought it would keep bass from going to my stock speakers? That's besides the point. Basically, my question is if …

I was dinkin with my stereo today. i usually run my kenwood 900/1 to my 2 12 inch kicker L5s. they hit pretty dang good. i got curious and daisy linked my alpine 350/1 ( I know its probably a bad idea to link mis matched amps like that but i was bored ) and hooked up my 2 10 inch rockford fosgates. it was VERY loud. i had it all the way up and looked at my alt gauge and it had dropped from over 14 to nearly 9 volts. just for future reference since i plan on buying a matching kenwood amp to what i have and running both, should i use a capacitor or just get a second battery? my alternator is pretty new and i have a brand spankin new 800 cca battery. my amp is wired with #2 …

Okay guys.... Your assistance is needed once again... I had my equipment installed by a buddy and since I had planned at the time to run my Kenwood amp at 1 ohm with a 15" Kicker L7 my buddy dropped in a RF 1 farad capacitor while we hooked this all up... I already know this negatives here and so I would like to remove this while I do my amplifier swap hopefullly this weekend.... Here is the big $100k question: How do I discharge the capacitor? I will disconnect the power from the battery and then remove the capacitor fully as I understand it... But I don't want this light bomb sitting in my apartment with energy being stored... only found this link .... Should I ju…

just was wondering if i should by this capacitor i was looking at. So would a cap benefit me in a burping scenario? my car will be running 2 sundown 4500's and a sundown 100.4(mids) with a 275amp Mechman H.O. alt with 5 XS power 14 volt batteries. any opinions on the soundstream sc-40CA 40 farad ? http://www.woofersetc.com/p3257/SC40CA--Soundstream-40-Farad-Digital-Hybrid-Super-Capacitor.htm or http://www.woofersetc.com/p3784/SCC1--Lightning-Audio-50-Farad-Carbon-Capacitor.htm

ok i know people on here say not to bother with a capasitor but almost everyone in my town here is telling me not to get a 2nd battery b/c it's not going to be as good and i'm wondering y you guys reccomend the battery over a capasitor? they tell me that caps are made for letting big draws out and batterys arn't ment for that, now i'm unsure what to do it's for a daily system a sundown saz2000d and fi btl 12" and big three 1/0 wire.

Ive been looking at some car audio companies that make very good quality gear. Ive noticed that the majority of them have caps for sale. Now, you think from reading all this stuff about them, they are bad ect ect that these high end companies wouldnt sell them. But there must be a reason. Just about every amp out there is filled with them. So why not add another ? Is a 1 farad cap better than 2 0.5 farad caps ? What about cap banks, 30, 40 farads ? Im, not about to go out and buy one I didnt bother posting this on ca.com because i know everyone will say caps are junk blah blah blah. Ive read that they can be helpful if your electrical system is up to par ( mine is )

A carry over from Fordexplorer.net Charging System Basics: The electrical system in an automobile is said to be a 12 volt system, but this is slightly misleading. The charging system in most cars will generally produce a voltage between 13.5 and 14.4 volts while the engine is running. It has to generate more voltage than the battery's rated voltage to overcome the internal resistance of the battery. This may seem strange, but the current needed to recharge the battery would not flow at all if the charging system's output voltage was the same as the battery voltage. A greater difference of potential (voltage) between the battery's voltage and the alternator's output volt…

  21. Quick question for all of you who are a lot smarter than me! My math told me it wasn't enough but I wanted to double check with you all. If my sound system drives 4100 watts will a 270 amp Max 200 idle alternator be able to support it? Especially accounting a/c etc. If it will that would be awesome, but if not I'll just go with SSA Icons instead of xcons. Ps I know I could probably get multiple alternators but it would be a tight fit, and personally don't have the capability so it would probably cost too much.

Wanting to add to my existing alarm, thinking about adding perhaps two exterior sirens, current one is hurting. Also like the idea of having one or two piezo sirens inside the cabin. I have seen these refered to as pain generators. Any of you have input on particular brands which might stand above others in performance? I also wanted to know if adding the additional sirens and alarms will require any additional wiring aspects, I guess I mean can I just wire multiple sirens or will I need additional installation knowledge or products? Thanks for your help and input. Chop

I know this may sound kind of odd, but is there any way that i can run a car amp out of my room wall socket? I was thinking maybe something like a 12v DC adapter from some random thing, but i don't want to fry my amp. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance, Mike B.
