I was all set to buy an Alpine PDX-4.100 for the front stage and a Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000-bd for my sub. Then I read some more about amps and i really like the feaetures on the JL audio stuff, specifically, that their amps put out consistent power at any impedance between 1.5 and 4 ohms and at any voltage between 11 and 14.4 volts. This seems to be worht the extra cash outlay. Also, I am well aware of the quality of JL products. My question: Is JL the only company that makes amps that will put out a consistent power across ohms and with different voltages? In my research, I was unable to find any other amps that did this. Just installed my cda-9886 and it plays the radio but on cd's it shows that its playing but no sound. Same with ipod. I'm thinking it has to do with it possibly beig a faulty cd player... which is ganna piss me off. Any ideas?

I have a DC power H.O. alt and big 3 done with a kinetik hc1400 up front and a hc600 right next to amp with 4 awg connecting to my SAX-1200d and yeah my voltage is fine MOST of the time but it seems like on CERTAIN random songs with a perfect note my voltage still gets awfully close to 12v occasionally.. HOW many batts you guys running and on how many watts rms you pushin? Alright. So im putting together my new system and im new to this so i need some guidance or help. I just bought a BL 15 fully loaded dual 1 and built the new box so thats takin care of for the sub. Now im buying a Hifonics BXi 1210D. Im going to have to run 4 gauge wire with that amp tho and i was wondering would i want to get an amp with 0 gauge instead? difference? I really want the avh-p4300dvd but i don't need a dvd player and i'm worried the car may get broken into for the headunit as it's not detachable. I could tint the windows but that's adding to the cost. I would be willing to get a single din unit but i don't see any nice ones out there. I have just finished receiving my impedance curve measurements for my setup design between 20hz-80hz. Here shortly, the graph will be posted here and in a few hrs, me and a buddy are gonna take a trip to an isolated area where we will be measuring output and efficiency and comparing those numbers with the SAZ1500D as i've always wanted to know if the AQ outperforms the Sundown since it's rated to do more power but only at a higher voltage. As of right now, - Impedance curve ranges from 1.76 ohms to 21.6 ohms. DCR is 0.7 ohms So... i will NOT have any measurements below 1.76 ohms and depending on heat buildup, i'm still hoping to pull some numbers out of the AQ below 2.0 o…

I just got my Batcap 800 today. The instructions say NOT to ground it to the chasis! Does this seem strange to anybody else? I've used caps before and have always grounded them to the chasis. It says to wire it in parallel to the amp. If it's 25% cap & 75% battery why wouldn't you ground it to the chasis? I have 2 sets of re xxx 6.5 components ... i was thinking about going active but i do not know what the benefits would be and if it would be worth me spending the extra money for another amp ... would these speakers do well with an active setup? they are rated at 150 rms each (mid+twwet combined) ... how much power should i put to each mid and each tweeter? the ohm rating on the set is 2 ohm but will that change each speakers impedence?

Ok, I just got in my Fi Q 15. I have it running 1000rms at 1 ohm on a Sundown 1500D on stock electrical. I am getting a bit of dimming. I have a run of 1/0 wire with a 1/0 battery to chassis ground. I am thinking of going pickup a Kinetik HC600 or HC800 and put it in the back since, I still have to hookup my JL 300/4 back there. Would this take a bit of strain of my front battery? I REALLY dont want to have to change my alt. Factory amperage on my Tacoma is 80 amp.

How do I do it. Just set the meter to ac and see if I have any ac current.

I've always been a fan of getting an Alpine H701 with a W505, but I am scared that with the H701 being discontinued I may never find one. So I'd like to find some more options for what is available and capable of 3-way processing. Also would be nice to have a collaborative list here for those to reference to.

anyone ever had experience with hifonics? i've heard a lot of trash talking and underrating, but still even if it's underrated, it would be only pushing around 1000 or so... that's still a good deal for only 180$ but if these amps just absolutely suck, is there any amp someone could suggest in the 250$ range that would produce about 1000 watts rms? thanks a lot
