I have a RF Power T500-1BD. I was thinking about running it at .5 ohm to a DC Audio Level 3 15. Can the Power series handle that kind of load?

Hello there, my name is Mark. I Would like some input on best options for continuing to improve my electrical system. I am not satisfied with the way things are performing now. Seems like my voltage is very inconsistent and that there is way too much draw at higher volumes. No I have not hooked a volt meter up to see what the voltage has been. However, the dimming of interior and exterior lights have been a good indication something more is needed. Here is a list of what's already completed. Thanks in advance for all input and help. Ok I'm not that good at this but have a newer amp with 6 chips on the PS sink. Seems to be two transformers and 3 fets each, the output is on other side of chassis. Well the 3rd and 6th one are shorted pos to neg and blew the +12v trace. If shorted then they must be bad, the rest are near same ohms and not on/shorted at rest and all same # chips. Anyway, can I just replace them....what would cause this to happen? Would something else be shot too? They are $15 each so far I've found. Yes this is a junk explode amp, but might as well see what I can do its like new otherwise and 500wx1rms so not bad. I've been told not to substitute parts on new amps, have no idea what was d…

I've never bought all the wires and stuff separately, I've only used those amp install kits. Im trying to figure out how much it will cost to wire up my amp and stuff. Orion 2500D. I'm going to need an alternator, I was thinkin a universal alternator... I can make brackets for it, we have welders and stuff and I can weld. Reason why is I have an engine coming sooner or later for the truck, and its a different engine than what is in it. So I'll just make a new bracket for the other engine. I want to run the secondary alt seperate than the existing charging system, and have it dedicated to 1-2 batteries and the amp will run off those batteries.. Not sure what batteries eit…

does it matter how far the fuse is from the battery, as long as it's within 18"? more specifically can it ever be too close to the battery? i installed new wires in my friends car (power and grounds) and its only about 6" from the battery. his fuse keeps blowing so he tried a bigger fuse (still only 80 amps) could that be the problem? i dont know the specifics on what amp and such but its probably 7-900 watts. should he just upgrade to a 150 amp fuse? its 4 AWG.

I have a 18" Fi SSD d2 running off of a Powerbass ASA 400.2. The sub is wired at 4 ohms right now and was actually only running on one channel of the amp and getting 100 watts. I just changed it to bridged because I just now realized it supports 4 ohms. It's rated at 400 watts when bridged. My gain when only running it on one channel had to be almost all the way up for the sub. Is this because it was only getting 100 watts ? I still wouldn't think it would have to be turned up so high. I was really worried about clipping but never had any burning smells when playing full blast for extended periods of time. The amp gets kinda hot but never overheats. When it is wired bridg…

So last night on my way home from work I was listening to my stereo and all of a sudden the H.U. shuts off and then restarts(Alpine 9884). I installed the H.U. last year in November and never had a problem with it then about a month ago I put in a Sundown SAZ-1000D and a Fi 12" Q. Never had a problem with my H.U. turning off before last night. I dont know if the cold had anything to do with it. It was around 30 out and snowing. Today comming home from school it was listening to it seeing if it would shut off and it never did then comming to work a few hours later it started doing it again. I have yet to do the big 3 and my voltage drops pretty good. Im driving a 97 bla…

hello, i recently got 2 alpine type r's professionally installed in my trunk with a kicker 1000.1 mono amp. It was blasting nd bumping for about 2 weeks then i realized that they needed to be mounted because they moved around too much. I got them mounted and they started to make a strange noise. I took it to the installed nd they "fixed" it by fixing the ground substance or whatever....I turned the car on and the noise is still there. I took out the "phone line wire" from the amp and it still makes the noise, the installer said it was probably something wrong with the amp but im not too sure... the subs make a loud croaking nd buzzing sound even when i have them set at 0.…

Will it make a big enough difference in upgrading quality of my midrange amp but not power to be worth it? Will it make a difference in the sound of my? Or is 400 watts 400 watts and switching amps to a higher quality amp of the same power not make a noticable difference?

I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500HD that I have added the big 3 in 1/0 and a stinger spp1500d to. Inside I have a crescendo bc2000 powering a dc xl 12 d2 and a merlon meam50.4 powering my components and coaxials. While playing music with the bass up the low notes make the voltage drop. Sometimes down to the mid 12s from about 14.18. What can I do to fix this? Would an alt be the best way to go? If so what size and brand do i need? Also has anyone messed with the alts on dbelectrical.com?

hello everyone, I recently change all my system and after the installation i get a lot of engine noise and alternator noise. the install was like follows: Alternator: a 250 amp Ford alternator modified to use a voltage regulator, so it generates from 10.5 to 18 volts. Power wire: upgrade to 0 gauge from alternator to main battery, to second battery, to capacitor, to distribution block. Ground wire: upgrade to 0 gauge from alternator to engine, to chasis, to battery, to second battery, to capacitor, to distribution block. Amplifiers: 1 Memphis st-1600d to subs (2 10"Ascendant Audio) 1 Autotek 500s to mids (4 5.25" Crossfire) 1 Pioneer Gm630…

I have just finished receiving my impedance curve measurements for my setup design between 20hz-80hz. Here shortly, the graph will be posted here and in a few hrs, me and a buddy are gonna take a trip to an isolated area where we will be measuring output and efficiency and comparing those numbers with the SAZ1500D as i've always wanted to know if the AQ outperforms the Sundown since it's rated to do more power but only at a higher voltage. As of right now, - Impedance curve ranges from 1.76 ohms to 21.6 ohms. DCR is 0.7 ohms So... i will NOT have any measurements below 1.76 ohms and depending on heat buildup, i'm still hoping to pull some numbers out of the AQ below 2.0 o…

I have a soundstream XXX4000d is this amp worth anything? I have it currently on my 12 inch warden and I am not feeling the power or seeing the numbers that I should be. Is this amp junk or am I missing something. I have 3 batteries, a 220amp alt and the dual 0 gauge inputs going from the batteries to the amp. The sub is in 3 cub with a slot port tuned to 47hz. I am only at 145.2db and we tuned the box for the rez freq of the car.

  25. How do you guys do it and still get the door sills back down? That wire is so thick I cant get the plastic sills to snap back in. Also for those of you running the amp behind the rear seat how big is the amp? I have a sundown 1200 v2 and Im starting to wonder if its too big to fit back there. I cut out the rubber to fit the amp in but Im wondering if when I put the seat back in if it wont fit. Id like to know before getting it all done.
