I currently have 2 Kinetik HC2000's in my Tahoe, one under the hood, one under the back seat maybe 15" of power cable away from the amp. Have a db-starter-aternator 220A alternator (which for some reason i cant locate the one i bought from them.. maybe they stopped selling it? lol) It listed it makes its power at like 1200 RPM or something.. should have never bought it.. but thats what I have, I took the voltage meter outside today and looked at both battery's.. Car not started in over 24 hours the battery under the hood was sitting at 12.6 with the vehicle off.. back battery at 12.5. turned the vehicle on which had the rpms at like 1300 or so since it wasnt warmed up.. s…

Just want to wire a friends two under-dash neon's and one under the back seat to a single toggle switch mounted on the dash. Battery ---> power wire (16ga) ---> inline fuse (5amp) ---> more power wire ---> 12v power on switch Acc on on switch ---> neon x3 (splicing all together to run off the single switch) Ground switch and tube. Right? Wrong? Your feet smell? Perhaps just using the cigarette lighter in the car. Cut the wires off the back of the lighter in the dash, cut the DC adapter off of the neon, wires from lighter into switch ... ? Probably the easiest way if it works ... Thoughts and opinions. Like the topic says. If I'm going for a good SQ out of a sub, does the sound quality suffer if I'm running them at a lower ohm load like 2, 1 or .5ohms (as opposed to 4ohms). I'm looking to start up my wife's car with a SQ system and want to match subs and amps for good sq. Thanks guys.

Ok, im pretty sure I have this right but I would like some confirmation to be sure. This is basically what my electrical will be.. the few things that can vary will be battery location, in the picture im going to add at the bottom I put the 2nd battery at the bottom(back).. easy to understand. the vehicle will be a Tahoe which has a 2nd battery tray.. should i use that 2nd tray or just keep it in the back close to the amps? That is one thing i wasnt 100% on, also Ill have a Kinetik HC2000 and a Kinetik HC1800 ... do i want the bigger of the 2 in the back? Also will someone look at my fusing in my picture to make sure that is correct also before i go buy all these damn fus…

I bought my Alpine CDE 9881 from a pawn shop for 50 bucks back when I had my old car and I recently got a nissan maxima. One thing I rly hate, this headunit has no aux in front or USB and most important, it doesnt work with a steering wheel adaptor. I have had a few people offer me $65 for it (is that a decent price?) and I think I might sell it and get something a little better. I know crutchfield is usually over priced but their headunits seems fairly priced, especially since they give you all the install stuff and save me around 30 bucks. I'm not going to do much with this headunit, just listen to music on my ipod. Idk how to tune, etc. I'm also running a passive setup…

I am thinking a running a 3way active system and was wondering what are some of the best headunits to use.

With the Alpine cda-117 do you have to buy the H100 imprint to use the deck active? If so can someone with this set up give some imfo or review.

Hey guys, I'm bullshittin' ideas around in my head about a temp daily set-up. until i do my BL What kind of electrical would i need for the set up listed below? I'm thinking a 350amp Alt from DC Power and a D3100 as a starter battery. AQ3500D.1 4 ohm power @ 14.4V @ 1% THD 1400W x 1 2 ohm power @ 14.4V @ 1% THD 2600W x 1 1 ohm power @ 14.4V @ < 1% THD 4300W x 1 AA SMD 18" RMS 3500w Also, if i were to double the equipment, could i still use a single alt and add another D3100? -- Or would that add too much then recommended stress on the alternator? It has all knukonceptz speaker wire, rca's and distribution blocks. 0g big 3 upgrade and 0g power and ground wires. A Panasonic CQ-C7205U head unit. I run an Alpine PDX 100.4 for my infinity reference components in front and coaxials in the rear. 2 Elemental Designs 13Ov.2's dual 4 ohm subwoofers in a custom 2ft3 sealed enclosure. they are 600 watts rms each, and I have them wired to a 1ohm load. …

Few days ago i went to pick up my suv from my aunts house since ive had it there stored for few months. On my way back i notice my “RE XXX” tweeters stopped playing, so i thought for some reason they got damaged not knowing why when they were playing fine before vehicle being stored. I removed them and tested them just incase a wire was pinched and they didn’t play so I tossed them. so i got a 4' x 8' sheet of 3/4 plexi for free the other day so im using some of it to enclose my amp. im wondering where i should mount my fans i have 2 4" fans and im wondering how should i mount and wire them. 1 in each end? wired one pushes and one pulls? or both pulling air in? and ill add 2 more when i find some more

just thinking, why do we still use head units? we are taking digital signals from streaming/flac/wave files on a phone or usb stick and converting that to analog just to convert it back to digital at the dsp... are there any head units out there that just go digital to a dsp rather than the extra conversion step? i was considering a carputer to just do source and dsp all in one via software and a soundcard up front

JL 300/2 Audison LRx 2.250 ARC Audio 2100CXL Linear Power 2.2hv PPI ART A600 I have been told that my Koda's will take full range..but that's just not floating my boat at this moment..probably cross them at 60ish..so Out with the LP and PPI... Someone either suggest something new..or help me make up my mind. The only difference with the other 3 is price. With my budget...the ARC and JL will have to be used, while I have a chance to get the Audison at a great price. I need help running the power wires and the RCA wires through my Buick. I've done other cars but in my Buick everything seems sealed off really well. First where would be the best location to run the power wire through the firewall. Second how would I run the RCA and remote wire behind the head unit. Behind the head unit seems sealed off.

ok so im going to be using the Fi BTL 12" sub D2 in a 2.5 cu ft box ported to 34 hz. in the trunk of a chevy cavalier. i want to run in DB Drag so the power needs to be there when the car is off. so it will be at around 12-12.5 volts. the battery will be a Kinetic HC 2000 so my decision comes down to this. a brand new AQ3500 for 550$ or a refurbished SAZ-3000 with new heat sink and B-stock (not sure what that is) for 575$. i would like to know the pro and cons of each one. i know one uses a fan for cooling and one doesnt. is there an advantage to this? which one is more efficient at 1 ohm? which one will output more power at 12 volts? or any more things i should now a…

As with being located in Australia it's not that easy to get a big alternator cause most of the auto sparkys are f*#%wits... I asked him would I be able to run a SK-1500.1 and a SK-85.4 of my car and he said "yeah mate.. You could run them off the stock batt" I face palmed it so I put it to you people.... My car came from factory with a 100 amp alternator and it has I think 2 awg wire to the batt... I've already put an xs power d3400 in Would I be able to run these 2 amps how it is now and if not let me know what mods I need to do so I can have a piece of mind and not constantly worried ill be on low voltage Cheers mate
