ok so im going to need to get a new headunit for my car, which stereo is cheap (300>) but allows me to control my Ipod through the stereo its self. ive got one in mind but i want you all to tell me what you think is a good stereo. also i saw that Soundstram has some perdy flip ups that do exactly what i need it to, but im guessing the price is like a grand. anyone got info on their stereos?

I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to run active x-overs at all 4 corners with one 4 channel amp. Like run both left tweeters off of one channel, both left woofers off one channel, etc

I am wondering if the bc2000 will allow the use of 175 amp fuse. I will be burning it at a half ohm. So all u guys that have had experience with this amp I would appreciate ur thoughts.

What is the problem with linking amps? I always hear its not good to do on here. I have my 2500s linked right now and wanna know what the problem people have with that is. If it would be better I would get some rca splitters and just run one to each sub

Hey fellas!! its been a while since i last was on here. its good to see the forum still going strong!! I gots a situation i needs help with fellas. I just ordered an 220 iraggi alt for my car. I've been having battery issues for a few months now and im convinced a new alt will defitnely help my setup and maybe fix my battery issues. I have an optima red top under the hood and a kintek 800 in the back next to the amps run in series. The optima has been recharged twice and from what im told needs to be recharged again. I've done a lil research and from what i gather, optima aint the company they used to be. im sick of my red top, so my question is whats a better battery? …

I was talking to guy at the local shop and he got me thinking about pre-amp voltage and line drivers. I have a Pioneer 3200DVD with 4v pre amp outputs. He told me that a line driver would boost that voltage and make a night and day difference to my system. If someone could tell me how they work, and what it would benefit to me if I got one. Head Unit is stated above and the amp is a saz-2500d. He exclaimed it was needed, I don't think it is. He may of been trying to make a sale. Thanks in Advance!

So I'm starting on my front stage. Finally got a car. It's a 98 camry. I'm trying to find a decent head unit but I'm not trying to spend 300 bucks on one. Any recommendations? I used to have a boss and Jenson but they would freeze when I turned my subs on I'm not putting any subs in the vehicle not until I got a little more money.

I was thinking about my wiring set up today. In my new vehicle I have yet to do the Big 3, but I do have a dedicated 1/0 ground wire that goes from my back battery to my front. Is it really necessary to do the big 3 if you have a dedicated ground? I can see the upgrade being useful if you are using a chassis ground because your return path would be limited to the chassis to battery, but if that is elimated is there still a benefit? As far as resistance for the power wire goes, lets say the wire from the alternator to the battery is 4 feet. The stock wiring is 8 awg, which in general has a resistance of 2.061 ohms/km. This means the resistance of the wire is 0.00251 ohms. …

I bought a SAE-1200Dv2 and i have it hooked up... i am running two alpine type r 12s duel 4 ohm voice coils at one 1 ohm and the amp keeps shutting dow... it will play for a while and it shuts down and gos into protect.... i turn the volume down on my HU and turn it back up and t works... what could be causeing this...? any one know?

i have a 2 channel amp and it says it puts out 320 watts at 1 ohm x2 so if i have 4 speakers rated at 80 watts a piece can i just put them on 1 of the amps channels and it will put out the power they need is that how it works and its the other 320 watts on the other channel not used please help

Now I was told is that you swap out your factory battery and replace it with a better battery and high out put alternator. Others mention that I should have two batteries one for the car and the other for the stereo and high out put alternator. What should I do? Also are Odyssey batteries good since I have a PCJ 12OO under the hood.

Hey guys quick question: I understand this: Voltage of the output = sqrt(RMS Power X impedance of the speaker) Example Say the amp provides 100WRMS into a 4 ohm speaker: Voltage = sqrt(100W X 4 ohms) Voltage = sqrt(400W*ohms) Voltage = 20V So I have a 1500W amp and two dual 1 SSD12s. Would it be? Voltage = sqrt(1500W x 1 ohm) Voltage = sqrt(1500W*ohms) Voltage = 38.7V Should I use 30HZ, 50HZ, or 100HZ tone?

Ok i need to know which one of these amps are the better one to get (am running a 1 ohm load). I narrowed it down to either the Autotek MM 2000, the Soundstream PCX2000D or the Soundstream TRX2000D. I would like to hear from anyone who heard these amps. And which one of these amps do rated power or is closes to rated power. Any input?

I've been thinking about buying an Oscilloscope for a while now. What should i be looking for when it comes to buying one? What makes one durastically better than the other? For know it will be used solely for setting gains to insure minimal clipping, but I would like it to be able to do whatever else one would do with an Oscilloscope. Seeing as I'm an Electrical Engineering major I know it will most likely come in handy in my future so I would like to get one that has a wide range of uses. So what should i be looking for when it comes to the specifications of an o-scope? Thanks for your time.

So I currently have a d2 icon wired to one ohm in a ported box running off at sundown sae 1200 v2. I also have 2 fi ssds d1(s), I built a sealed box for them and wired them in parallel; on the dmm it reads .7 ohms. My vehicle is a buick lesabre which has 130 amp alt. With the icon my electrical is great, the lowest i see is 14.0 (13.8 or so with the a/c on) at full tilt while at a stop light or something. I put the fi's in, a direct swap. I left the amp setting the same. My voltage is horrible, dropping into the 12s at full tilt at highway speeds. So i turned down the gain, pretty much a 1/4 turn back and my voltage is just as bad. Ok I'm not that good at this but have a newer amp with 6 chips on the PS sink. Seems to be two transformers and 3 fets each, the output is on other side of chassis. Well the 3rd and 6th one are shorted pos to neg and blew the +12v trace. If shorted then they must be bad, the rest are near same ohms and not on/shorted at rest and all same # chips. Anyway, can I just replace them....what would cause this to happen? Would something else be shot too? They are $15 each so far I've found. Yes this is a junk explode amp, but might as well see what I can do its like new otherwise and 500wx1rms so not bad. I've been told not to substitute parts on new amps, have no idea what was d…

Kinda new to this but just need an idea as to what I need to upgrade on my truck to run my 4 15s 600 watts rms 1200 max I got a 3k amp coming and 0 gauge wire my truck is a diesel so it already has 2 batties and a 110 amp alternator from the factory. welp guys... I was lookin at the batcap 800 for my friends Integra Couple of reasons im considering this over a group 51 Yellow Top it has WAY MORE CCA Its lighter and it costs the same Also, its black, so it doesnt draw attention like a Yellow Top would Only problem i can see is RC, the stocker is 70m The Yellow top is 75m But Batcap doesnt list any sort of RC on the 800
