I need a new 2 channel to drive some 6.5"s in the doors. I need something on the small side and not looking to spend a lot. Mind you I don't want some Walmart brand $30 specials either. Anyway, back in the day I had a Soundstream Lil' Wonder amp. Loved that thing to death. I know several of the bigger companies back when I got into car audio (late 80's ish) have really gone downhill in terms of build and quality. I came across a Rubicon 2.250 that will fit the space requirements and the power I need. Not familar with anything they have made in the past few years. Are they still pretty decent? I'm working my Audioque 4x90 to death. I need a big 2 channel to temporarily run my 2 SA-12's. The only thing I come across that really catches my interest are Rockford's. The New P500-2, older P550.2 and T3002 are serious dopeness. I'm not worried about a subsonic because they're sealed for the time being. I don't mind not being able to give them 750-800 per but I do want to give them atleast 250 each. I was looking at the Sundown 125.2 but I don't know just how much it does at 4ohm bridged. Hey all, I have a USB and the jack that connect to my iPOD. Is the USB just for information/control and the jack for the music? Can I use the jack for input from my PC? here is a link that has a pic of the back, the top left corner has 2 wires coming out, the bottom black wire is like a regular headphone/mic/line in/line out jack. Can I run a PC/laptop out into this to playback PC/laptop sound through my system? Okay I have the stetsom 5k2e and it only has one rca input.. My radio offers two. I took a y splitter from the radio and came out to one wire for my rca to the back. When I plugged it in there was no sound from my amp. Now here is the kicker I took the 4 channel rca that is going to the rear and plugged it into the stetsom and boom it worked. So my question is how do I test my rca wire to make sure it is getting power I have my dmm but dont want to F nothin up. So please help if you can! Thnx ahead of time!

I'll be running 8-8"s and 4 tweets on a SAX 100.4D and I want to have some good processing at my finger tips which is why I don't want a trunk mounted EQ. my two options are: 1.) Keep my Factory Pioneer Scion TC deck (which has a L/R and rear sub outs just like an aftermarket deck) and add an AudioControl Three.2 to it or 2.) get a bad ass headunit that has multiple procesing features to it such as Alpines CDA-117 (or similar, if you know of a better option let me know as well) and just use it's features. Its been awhile since I posted. But I'm back in the stereo business now. And the shop here sold someone a Power Acoustic "CAPCELL" 800-amp. 2 months ago. She came in today and her woofers basically sounded like they were crying. She thought they were blown. I crawled in and looked and the Capcell was displaying 8.24v and when it would hit would drop as low as 6.96v some time. Basically I don't have any experience with capacitors because I dislike them. But this is a hybrid so I wonder how can I recharge it. Just hook it on a battery charger for a few hours? Hi- I've needed a new alternator for a while and I'm finally starting to get my money up to purchase some upgrades. My 2000 Volvo S40 has a small alternator in a cramped engine compartment so most companies don't make alternators for it. DC Power and Ohio generator will make something for me, but I'm not sure which is the best scenario. I have an IA 40.1 (3600+ rms) and RF T4004 elite (~100x4). DC power quoted me ~$800-900 for a 270XP alternator. ~200 amps at idle, 270 max. This would be fine for my current system, but it's quite pricy and I could not buy new batteries this summer. Ohio generator quoted me ~$350-450 for a ~120A at idle (my stock max), and 200A max. Since …

Hey guys, had a few questions. I was looking through all of the topics, and it seems that most people either go with Knukonceptz, WeldingSupply, or Kicker. I was wondering if there were any benefits one has over the other (other than price, obviously). About how many feet of wire is usually necessary for an SUV setup? This number should include wiring from front to back as well as the big 3. I was thinking right around 30 with some room to spare. I could be way off though, that's why I'm asking. Im trying to make the things in this thread My link click, but with pain killers and a little booze (knee surgery) I want to make sure I sort of understand what is being said and how it applies to my situation. I have a newer bmw that has a factory amp for the subs. I tapped into the speaker wires to the subs with a LOC to add an amp and a sub in the trunk. Everything is up and running but there is one problem. The factory adjustments on the stereo system only allow the volume to go so high , to the point that distortion is not really possible. It's been a while since I've used my o-scope and I've read alot on how to set the amp gains but while i've been trying to see the clipping I've had some problems being able see where clipping begins on the h/u. From what i seen it was at 53 on an alpine deh-4000ub as i was setting the gain i barely touched the gain knob and it was in clipping and i dont want to have my h/u at 53 just to get bass. im using a bk precision 2120. i'm running a re -sx 12 in a 35hz box connected to an AQ1200d. can i get some suggestions on the way to set these properly fellas?

Ok so I installed my Stinger voltmeter last week and tuned it or whatever with my multimeter and it works perfect,.. but now that I can watch my voltage.. it is weird. Sometimes when I am driving it goes below 12v.. this is even if my head-unit is off, no windsheild wipers, no headlights no ac.. nothing on just driving and it randomly went to like 11.6 even.. I have figured out my "normal" voltage when driving is usually 12.5-12.7v... like that's what it stays at most of the time.. but when im driving I notice it is randomly at like 11.9 then later its like 11.6 and its for like 5-10 mins sometimes and then sometimes it goes back to like 12.2 or 12.5 and just fluctuates a…

Well, I've been looking for a ho alt for my brother's Caliber and so far, the only company that has said they can/will build one is Excessive Amperage. I was wondering if anyone here had any experience at all with them. Nathan said he would build me a 200a unit that will do approx. 130 at idle. He also said that the alt is controlled by the car's computer and suggested I also purchase an adjustable external regulator from him for another $135. I'm not sure I need the regulator as we don't ever plan on running at higher voltage. Any input is very appreciated.

Is the RCA out on the slave amp still live or is it defeated along with the other functions IE: gain, LPF, subsonic, etc.? Reason I am asking is with the RCA lengths and the way my amps are installed is it would give me a cleaner look if I could use the RCA out on one my slave amp to the RCA in of the other strapped pair's master. Here is a pic, I want the top 2 amps to be the master and slaves on bottom. I want to run RCA under and between amps rather than on top. I have nothing working right now so I cant check it for myself and dont want to get that far and find out it wont work. Cliffs: does the RCA output of the slave amp still work when strapped? Thanks!

As some of you may know from other another post I have plans of doing a 150 trunk car this summer. So from past experience I know that I can not run two alts, and I already have a HO alt. I am trying to stay away from extra batts due to my car having weak ass springs in the ass end so I was going to install a MLA module. BUT!! I googled for like 2 hours and I can not find the site or how to buy one? If I am just mentally challenged would someone please post a link and if not dose anybody know of another type of device that would get me similar results.
