So I just picked up a 2005 TrailBlazer and the factory Head Unit has to go.... hey everyone. im planning on buying one 12" BTL within the next 2 weeks along with a Crunch GP3000D-PRO and running it at 1ohm load. going to be putting them in my 2000 honda crv ex when i get back to the states from iraq here. i was wondering if there is going to be any need for me to upgrade my electrical system/add a battery or any other electrical things i will need to do? if yes, can you please list them for me because i simply have no idea. i do not know how much the alternator is putting out now either. i have tried researching and cannot find the stock one anywhere. any help would be appreciated thanks

Hi, i'm in the market for a HO alt for my Hyundai Excel Australian spec, which has proved difficult, to say the least. I was opting for around 220-250A, running to a stock calcium battery, which doesn't do too bad actually, and 2 Stinger SPV70's, which'll be used to push a saz-3500D, (unsure of the sub/s atm) and a sax 100.4 (hopefully), for a daily driver, @ 1 ohm (the 3500D ), with the possibility of taking it to some comps. I'm pretty sure my stock 70 amp alternator wont keep pace with those loads. My wanderings through this sub-forum led me to two brands in particular, after investigating most of them. I need a new amp for my SI Mag. I had a Massive P1000.1 amp running it that does 880W @ 1ohm, but that amp is now powering my newly fixed Adire Brahma MKIII that Fi reconed for me and instead of getting a new amp for the Brahma, I'm thinking about getting one for the Mag. Now here lays the Problem. I'm down to these: Sundown SAE-1000 (1000W @ 1 ohm) - because I know Sundown is high quality. Massive P1500.1 (1250W @ 1 ohm) - because I've never had a problem with the P1000.1 in the year I've used it. and Hifonics BXi1206D (1200W @ 1 ohm) - largely because it's easy on the wallet. OK I have made the decision to go with a custom dual alt set up in the Taurus...yada yada ya mount it, longer, belt, etc.. done. BUT I got to thinking about a few things I learned in school and I was wondering if anybody else on here with a dual alt set up has run a equalization connection between the two to prevent the alt that has the stronger field excitation from taking all the load and turning the other weaker one into a motor? And how do you know that both are in phase as not to double voltage when they are 180 degrees out of phase, 28 volts will fry my car. anybody with knowledge of electron physics that could help would be GREATLY appreciated

alrighty, im running one jl w7 10 in my truck in jls recommended encloseure (1.5cubes tuned to 32 hz) now my question is, what amp would be best? its 750-1000watts rms. i really wanted to stay all jl in my truck ( no im not a jl nut hugger, i honestly like ther products) im doing jl mids and highs on a 300/4, and i cant decide on a jl 500/1 or a jl 1000/1 for the sub. the videos on youtube of the 500/1 on a single w7 10 doesnt really seem to make it move muchas i know it can and the 1000/1 seems about right but i wanted to get other peoples opinion. so what yall think?

Hey ssa jfreezy here with another question. Is there a difference in sound between 1200rms and 1500rms or is it just spl? Wired to 1ohm will I hear a difference between the both with same amp settings? I'm choosing between a sundown audio sax 1200 or a saz 1500. I want to power two SA 10s or SA 12s at 1 ohm. Ported tuned about 33-34

Just got the new four channel in! Im confused as to how to set four gains when ill be bridging the amp to run my H.a.t. Clarus's into two channels. The gains are all the way down now so they are all equal. Amp sounds great as is but just a tad lite on gain. The amp btw is a Arc audio ks 125.4 mini.

Ok. I plan on putting 2 15" orion hcca subs in my car and would like to know a few things. I have 2 orion 25001d class amps for each and want to put only 2000 watts into each. So how many amps does my alternator needs to be and do i need more than one? And whats the best type of audio battery to use for under the hood and in the trunk? Thanks.

Ok, so I bought a HO alt for my taurus 2 weeks ago from a place called Quality Power Auto. The alt I bought was a 200 amp max and 125 amp at idle I paid just shy of 300 shipped to my house. I put the alt in the car today and well as the title would suggest I am VERY disappointed in the performance of this thing. First this thing has the voltage caped at 14.1 volt which is bull shit bc the stocker would do 14.4 solid in 90 degree heat in a traffic jam. At idle this alt would drop into the low 12's (like 12.1 to 12.0V) with nothing on but the head lights. It would not make all wopping 14.1 volts untill almost 3K rpm!!!!!! I have a 1998 s10 ext. I have a small amp in the back that goes to my mids, but for some reason after I listen to the radio for five minutes or less it completly kills my battery down to the point where my truck will not start so I have to get a jump. It only happens when I turn on my stereo. I had the battery and alternator tested and their fine. Any suggestions as to what the problem could be?

So the other day I did the Big 3 in my car. Everything had always been fine before it, I just did it to prepare for my next system. After doing the Big 3, I noticed something weird. In my car, there is a little heads up display for the driver, and after bumpin for a while, it said "Batter Saver Active." Wtf is this? I mean I would guess that it senses low power from the batt, but two different voltage meters show 12.8 w/ car off, ~15.2 idle, and ~14.6-15.1 while bumping. My voltage never drops below 14.3 volts, and I was just wondering why it would say something about the batter saver? Btw, i just added new wires, I did not remove the old ones.

I have a mechman 240a alternator with a xs power d5100 upfront everything wired up and running smooth. Now when installing my rear battery (another d5100) should I run both power and ground wires to the back battery or just the charge wire and ground in the trunk? Thank you in advance.

Hey guys, just trying to decide between 2 headunits. Both have the features I want. iPod connection, Hi-Volt Pre-outs, 3.5mm input, USB, nice display, basic EQ controls. Ease of use is a priority for me as well. Both of them are right in the budget I was thinking. I dont really care about HD/Sat Radio, or Bluetooth. Kenwood X794 Pioneer P7200HD I know some Pioneer's have the weird ground noise that pops up sometimes, so that scares me a little. But I love the fact that the USB and 3.5mm jack is on the front. That is a big thing for me. I would just like your opinions on which one would be the better HU, if either is better. Thanks guys.

throw out some budget amps thatll do around 2500w rms @ 1 ohm daily, will run @ .5 or whatever if its stable daily...its for my 15" mts...i have 4. i know the power acoustik a3000db is rated at 2300w and doesnt even do that, but i heard they are .7 ohm stable daily, does anyone know what these amps are capable of? hifonics? help!

Toyota tundra with stock alt, hid lights, 100rms x 2 channel on the doors and 1300rms on the sub. I'm looking into buying a new battery for under the hood because there is no place to install a second battery in my truck with still a fully functional bed and max seating. I was looking at the kinetic 1800 or 2200. Not sure how big I need to go but I'm pretty sure I can squeeze just about as large of a battery as I could find in the stock location.

I have a IA 6.4 that worked fine before i took it out of the vehicle i sold. Sat up for 2 years and connected it to power today. Now when it gets power it goes straight into protect and makes a clicking noise. Anyone have this problem before??

I currently have a Eclipse cd8445 and I do love it. The problem is that when I had previous setup in the track selection button would "oscillate" during long periods of bass causing it to skip or change tracks at times. I figure that this setup will be significantly louder than the last one so I'm looking around for something different. I'd like something that has mainly the same features as my 8445. But also has a very broad subwoofer control range (ex. My 8445 went from -6 to 6. I'm looking for something slightly larger). I did kinda like the fact that the 8445 has an 8v preouts. But that really doesn't mean too much. Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated.
