How do you guys strap your rear battery's down from moving? Im trying to add a second battery to my s10 and im kind of stumped right now, i have a few extreme idea's but its alot of damn work. I did it in my tahoe but it was easy, perfect spot under rear seat, this one will be where the rear fold down seat would be in an extended cab S10. what i have right now is the seat removed and I built a false floor in the area, I have a battery box but its too tall for this battery, i could cut it down maybe 3-4" but im afraid its gonna look horrible. i could also build like a battery box out of wood and screw it down, but my woodworking skills arent the greatest either, probably w…

im doin a classic car, and was thinking of mounting the amp in the front of the car.. under the dash hangin upside down (ofcourse on a well attached base) not trying to save money on wiriing or anything, just wouldnt mind having it up front, and i have hydraulics in the trunk so in case there is ever an oil leak i wont have to worry about it.. also, would it get too hot under a seat? any disadvantage to running longer speaker wire? i wouldnt think so.. and what gauge speaker wire is best for say a 12 ft run? sundown 1000 is the amp btw....

Hey all.I have a question about wiring subs.I have 2 dual 4 ohm subs. Now I know to wire to 1 ohm i would connect + to + and - to - on each sub then run a wire from the + on one sub to the + on the other and the same thing with the -.Ok here is my question.I just got a different box today.I dont have enough speaker wire to do it the way i mentioned above and plus i would ave to run the wire behind the port and I dont know if that would be ok or not.So what i did was wire each sub to 2 ohm by itself by connecting + + and - - on each sub.SO,when i connect both subs to my amp that way will it still be a 2 ohm load or what will he load be?Thanks

Sorry for the this vs. that shit but I would like to know if there is any/much difference between these two products. I'm in the market for 2 new batteries and these 2 brands are fairly similar in price and within my budget. I'm wondering if one or the other is superior, I know Kinetik makes a good, quality product but have no experience with Shuriken whatsoever. If anyone has experience with both or just perhaps knows something about them and could shed a little light here, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm also opening a poll here so if you could vote AND give a short explanation WHY you voted for whichever brand that would also be helpful. This is also for similarly …

Hey all, I have done some research and could only find one head unit that would run .FLAC files or any lossless audio codec. And this head unit was super expensive and hard to find. Does anyone know a good way around this like a media player that can play them and will hook up to the head unit? Would auxillary cables degrade the quality aspect of FLAC making it pointless to try playing them on a MP3 player of some sort? Thanks guys.

I'm insatalling a entire system in my 2000 honda accord. I have the following components so far: Jl audio 300/4 sundown saz-1500d 2 jl audio 12w6v2d4's focal 165 v2's mb quart psc216 The only thing i need now is a head unit. I really want the avh-p4300dvd but i don't need a dvd player and i'm worried the car may get broken into for the headunit as it's not detachable. I could tint the windows but that's adding to the cost. I would be willing to get a single din unit but i don't see any nice ones out there. Can you guys make some suggstions on what a good single din unit it for around 150-200 range? The only thing i want it to have is Ipod interface and for me to able to c…

(and you know who you are) ok. so as most of u have seen in my other thread, i have just added a seconed battery. only problem is that after playing for 3 or 4 mins, my volt meter and stuff goes back to the way it was befor. goes crazy when bass hits. So im going to do the big 3. i got to looking at my alternator yesterday and my wire going from my alternator goes to my fuse box. not to my battery. so what do i do? should i still updrade it, or just leave it and do the rest? any HELP is appreciated guys. Hi Just want to know a few things that remain unclear to me. Since I do not plan on running 18s anymore, will only run 2 12s (XCON, ZCONS or maybe BTLs) with probably a Sundown 3500D. Should I bother using 2/0 gauge for power and ground? I was about to purchase Kolossus Fleks 0 ($100) kit but just want to make sure I wont be in the "border line" when it comes to powering my amp. Also, will the Kolossus Fleks 0 handle a Sundown 4500D? Just in case if I decide to upgrade to that in the future. Im reading here http://www.bcae1.com/fuses.htm that 0 gauge only handles a fuse up to 325 amps. That means with a voltage of 12.6 you get 4095 watts. Thats 500 watts short of the 4500…

Hi , I will buy a 2500-3000 watts amplifier when I find a good deal. With my 2 amps (Sundown saz1500 and sax 50.4 bridged) I have no voltage drops, no dimming lights. But I know my stock battery will have trouble with a more powerful bass amplifier. I don't want to change that stock battery : it's 2.5 year-old but still very strong ! I did add a 0 ga wire from batt(-) to ground and another 0 ga wire from engine block to batt(-). I can't access the alt, it's under a lot of things ! Here is my question : how bad is it to just add an AGM batt in the back ? Will it hurt my stock batt ? I can have access to Yellowtop, XS, or Kinetic locally. The Yellowtops are the less expens…

I need some electrical upgrades for my 98 s10. But I dont want to get carried away. So far all i have is some cheap soundquest 4ga wire ran from front battery to amp. Amp is just a little audiopipe 1500d, but as it is right now my bass knob is a dimmer for any light in my vehicle lol. there is no way im dishing out the money for a HO alt on this thing. I have room in the back for 1 battery. Curious as to how small of a battery I can get away with. Going kinetik because its what I like. Honestly i would like to add a little HC800 or something and call it a day, but I dont know. My first step will be to upgrade my wires along with the big 3. question there is do you guys …

I've decided to go ahead and keep my Dcon, but now I need a new amp. I'm on a tight budget and I found these two: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_236RFL202/MTX-RFL202.html?tp=35757 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9037_MTX-Audio-XThunder-702X.html Both are right on my budget, but the main thing I'm looking at is that all the controls and inputs are on the same side. Where I'm mounting it (under rear seat) and the way my wires are already ran makes these two a good fit (my old amp was an MTX RFL600D). I've never understood the technical aspects of amps, so what I need to know is which amp would be a better choice?

Hi guys, I found very good prices on these 2 amplifiers on Audiosavings. They're cheap (less than $450) and claim to be powerful. I am surprised by the fuse rating on both of them : they need 130 or 150 amp fuse only for +2000 watts. My current amp, a Sundown saz 1500 needs a 150 amp fuse. I know Cadence and US Amps are well known brands. How can that be ? Are their ratings legit, or are they overated ? I still want for my BTL N2. I will upgrade the electrical after I get the amplifier. I will add or change battery for an AGM one (probably an Optima Yellowtop) later. what do you think about these 2 amps ? zrs c1 and md3 ?

I was planning on upgradingg my electrical by replacing my main batt. I was thinking about a batt along the lines of a d6500. Max amps are about 3900 and ah is about 80. Should my stock alt, 110 amps, be able to charge the d6500 without a problem? Im just looking for a theoretical answer. Thanks for the help

It has 4 gauge inputs... I know its not a huge deal but I wanted to use 0 gauge with it. I know stinger makes 4 gauge to 0 gauge adapters but the way the inputs are on the amp those adapters won't work. Would it be ok to just trim the 0 gauge down or should I just get a 4 gauge amp kit?
