  1. Orion 2400D, gonna be working with a few of these again. Does anyone know who used them to the fullest extent? Any pics on that? Hoping to pull some big numbers out of this set up for a daily driver set up.

i read a topic with a guy saying he's running an amp at .5ohms for spl and @ 1 for daily. He was running a sundown 3000 amp.Im trying to decide between 2 dual 2ohms or 2 dual 1ohm speakers. I have a hifonics colossus that's 1600 X 2 rms at 1ohm or 3200 rms bridged @ 2ohms. Will my amp run @ .5 for a short spl burst or go into protection mode. or should i just gt the dual 2s? would it be better to run it at 1ohm each channel daily or bridged @ 2ohms? Thank you

Is there a way to wake up both amps and have them power on instead of having to wire both with the (don't remember name) "wake up wire" ? I looked on the back of my cd player and it doesn't look like there's a spot to put it. But there is a slot for "sub out:" on it hat looks like its just a rca cable connection....hrmmm

Hi, I just received a new sundown sae-1200dv2..Hooked it up, runs fine however the crossover is not working properly. My current setup consists of the stock head unit ('06 tahoe) with a Scosche LOC-80 line out converter with the gains set around 85%. I was running a directed 1200/5 before and the setup worked fine. However now using the sae when I turn the LPF all the way down I still hear vocals coming out of my subs. I was told this is because my old amp used a 24dB slope, and the sundown amp uses 12dB. I have no idea where to go from here. Any suggestions please?

  5. I am doing the big 3 on my 2004 Rodeo and have ran into a slight snag. I am hoping somebody on here has some advice. I am using 1/0 AWG weling cable from Airgas (Radnor Flex-A-Prene) . I Grounded the negative battery terminal and the engine to the chassis without issue. Now I am trying to attach the cable to the charging post on the alternator. The problem is that the charging post is a tiny bolt, and the lug on the welding cable is huge (http://www.airgas.com/browse/productDetail.aspx?Category=14&product=RAD64002143). The lug is too thick to be able to re-attach the nut on the charging bolt, and it is coming in contact with the case of the alternator where …

  7. ok, so i just upgraded my stock head unit to a double din non touch screen thing, JVC something. its alright. i kinda miss my other.... i miss my steering wheel controls, and i hate how my antenna goes up when the thing is on, not just when the radios on. and it sucks that my ipod would be one of the 2 it supports that you cant control from the ipod. only the head unit... but besides all that so, a few problems i might get professionally fixed tomorrow unless its a simple fix. before, i had my suboofer amp hooked up to the back speakers. i splaced into that. i know stupid, i got bitched out on another forum, which is why i have the new deck. so now, ts almost all hooked u…

My Pioneer MVH-8200 recently has been having faceplate issues where it seems like it isn't making a good connection and if I push in the faceplate sometimes it causes the unit to turn off then back on (most likely because it loses connection then regains). I live in maine so it gets pretty cold and I'm wondering if there is some moisture in there that's causing issues. If that is the case what do you think I could do to help clean off the connectors? I tried looking on ebay and amazon for a replacement faceplate and couldn't find one, and when I emailed pioneer they gave me the usual round around with warranty (which I don't have the info for since I bought it used)

I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla Type S and I was wondering if any of you have the same car and have a system in it or have seen a system in a Corolla Type S? I need some ideas on setups. Right now I have a Batcap 800 in the trunk along with Dynamat in the trunk and under and on top of the rear deck, a JBL GTO 1200.1 II amp powering 1 Icon 15 in 3.5 cubes ported tuned to 34hz. I already have a 70 amp alternator and have just a little bit of dimming. Do I need a bigger alternator or would a Stinger SP1000 battery and solenoid be enough or should I get a both the alternator and bigger battery/solenoid? A friend of mine said that if I get a bigger alternator that I should go …

bought a 1200d from a CA.com forum member in december 2009. hooked it up to verify that it was working in my buddy's car, but it whined pretty badly. all the cables were properly run. about a month ago i built a box and bought a sub and installed them in my truck. the amp has the same whine it did when i bought it and i also noticed has an "power surge", like there's faulty wiring. and yes, the amp is what is whining. i thought it was just the songs we played to test it but apparently not. i relocated then replaced the power cable replaced the ground and relocated the ground with no change. when playing, it's almost like the bass knob was turned down and at random times t…

ok, I have to admit, I have an amplifer addiction, at first it was just with classic RF amps, kicker ZR's, Orion HCCA's, with a fwe ZED Audio produced US Acoustics... but then I started branching out my interest, and I sorta follow how are the amplifer people online and I pay attention to their choices and learn from their mistakes or good choices, guys like Josh Laine, zane (below reality), SQStephen, PerryB, and Tirefyr (aka ryan) are just a few that come to mind, so to get on with it, I have been an MB Quart follower, not always been able to afford their products, in many cases opting for lesser expensive pieces, so when Ryan orders the MB Quart right after he orde…

I started this topic because I've seen some negative remarks around the internet about their products but not necessarily(sp) why. I personally own two Nine.1's and a Nine.4. I'm not trying to start anything in any way or any kind of fight or flaming, I just want to know why some people don't like them. I'm thinking of running new amps and I'm trying to decide if its worth it or keep what equipment i got. Personally I'm happy with them and thats what matters, but I just want to hear from other views. Mods- like i said I'm not trying to cause any problems just looking for the stereo community's thoughts. I'm sorry if this post is against any rule and please delete or lock …

I was just installing my pioneer avh 4200 and while i was pushing the headunit in my yellow wire came undone and must have grounded because the unit shut off. When I connected the yellows back together the unit would not turn on. But once I touch the yellow with a constant 12v connection it turns on. Is there a way i can fix my yellow wire or would i have to tap into another wire? Everytime I turn off the unit it will reset because the yellow wire isn't working. BTW it is an explorer 2003. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Alright guys, quick question. Maybe a stupid one, but I would appreciate some solid feedback. So, I am currently running an SAE-50.4 (2 ohms per channel) & an SAE-600D (1 ohm). The big 3 and all other power cable is 4AWG OFC, and I also have an XP750 AGM as my supplemental. I am going to be upgrading to an SAE-1000D v2 pretty soon, and I would like to know if my 4AWG is going to be enough to support the current required to run the system. I estimate the current load the cable can support, at the length of runs I have (10-12ft), is somewhere around 160-170A. As it stands, the maximum current draw will be 150A, worst case scenario. Should I spend more …

So i got my 3500 v2 and hooked it up (post pics in just a min) im planning in running it on my SA-8 v2s for now @ 4ohm until i get my 0ga and mojos in. it should be be fine cause its not pulling more current than 4ga can handle right? also i ran it at 1 ohm for a moment and carefully increased the volume and i realize its not any louder than my saz-1000d was and watching my voltage im not getting any drop at all at idle. could there be something wrong with why its not pulling any more current than my saz-1000d was assuming it should be pulling way more? just confused at why.

I have an older Rockford 1100@2 amp with a remote gain bass knob. The cable for the knob has long since disapeared. I have used a telephone cord in the past but not sure if I am getting all of the gain. The knob has 6 wires for the pot, whereas, the phone cord only has 4 wires in the connector. The knob is rated 0-18 db slope at 45 hertz. Any help is appreciated
