Looking at the Audio Que 20 amplifier... and am wondering about the power claims they are making. I'm going as basic as you can get... the amplifier has 3 sets of 0 gauge power inputs. They claim the amplifier can consume up to 2,000 amps of current and over 1,000 amps of current consistently. Yet 100% ofc 0 gauge wire is rated around 250-350 amps of current up to 10'. Just looking at this, how can the amp be provided with the proper amperage at the correct voltage with enough inputs to only accept 750-1050 amps of current? Just wondering. Thanks for the help.

hey everyone, i have an 18" fi btl and i was wondering what amp you would suggest? i was thinking about the Hifonics BXI 2010D, im running it at one ohm. also my buddy has a 10 farad power acoustik capacitor..are they any good? this is all goin into a 1992 Chev caviler..will a yellow top battery be enough of a upgrade or should i get a high output alternator? lastly, what does it mean to have a box tuned to a certain amount of Hz? is it like port size? I've had big systems before just none of them have been ported. any help would be appreciated a ton! why drive home drunk when you can fly home high! pce boys

I just purchased two eclipsee 88120 subs in a dual chambered custom box in which each chamber is tuned to 34 hz. The subs are dual 4 ohm, so they can be wired down to a 1 ohm load together. But, since the box is dual chambered, I would have to remove the ports and drill through the divider, which I would rather not do, to achieve this 1 ohm load. If I were to wire each sub down to 2 ohms at its own speaker terminal, filling both terminals, what would be the end impedance for both drivers?

ok, so like most people with systems, my lights dim ALOT, and my rpm's drop. my system is drawing around 150amps fropm my stock 95amp alt. i have a 1995 ext. cab ford ranger. i am installing a 2nd battery (deep cycle) and doing the "big 3" but i doubt itll be enough. here is a list of my system to give u an idea of the problem..... 2 12" mtx 9500's 1 kicker zx1500.1 1 kicker zx350.4 2 mtx 6x9's o & HID headlight kit (idk if it draws more power than stock so ill just add it in case). i want either dual stock alt. or 1 big one. the problem with buying 1 new big one, is that im afraid if i buy off ebay, or any other site for a fact, that the alternator itself doesnt put…

Now that iv figured out an AudioQue 2200D would be a great choice for my Fi BTL N2, along with my Phoenix Gold 500.4 for my component speakers, i was just wondering what kind of electrical upgrades i would need to support this. (~2700watts). Iv read up on what is needed and im seeing a few mixed results. This is what im thinking: Big 3 240 Amp Alternator Kinetik 2400 Now the kinetik would be replacing my stock battery instead of running my stock and the kinetik. If anyone thinks thats not enough, or i should keep my stock battery or any other ideas it would be a great help.

I'm thinking about buying a Fi Btl N2 and I was looking at amps and it seems like hifonics is a good brand from what I have seen and read. I was just wondering wether I should get the brutus or the hfi series. I need to run around 2000 watts. Both the Hfi and Brutus amps are class D and say they are used for subs. So I was just curious on what your opinions are.

So its been awhile since i have made a topic on here. So, i moved houses the past week and when i was cleaning out the garage i found a brand new alt my dad bought for his lumina that didnt fit. Would it be worth making a dual alt bracket and putting two stock alts in my truck? or is that just a waste of time?. I mean i already have the alt, so that was free, and i figured to make a dual alt bracket it wouldn't be to hard considering i have access to my high school metal shop. so the question is would it be worth making that or should i just buy a new alt?

I have a really bad alternator whine. I have a JVC HU with only ONE RCA output. I'm running 2 separate amplifiers: 1 for Sub, 1 for Mids/Highs. Since my unit only has 1 pre-out, I bought some RCA splitters and just ran 2 sets of RCA's from the HU to the rear, sharing the signal between the 2 amps. I then found that there was quite a bit of whine.. However, when I would unplug the RCA's from the bass amp, the whine would disappear. "Ok, bad cable." So I switched the RCA's to see if that was the case, to find that there was still a whine whenever the bass amp RCA's were in. Which makes no sense because the signal plays fine from the mid/high amp without the bass amp RCA's i…

Hello, A friend of mine is asking me what can he chose for his new amplifier. He compete in spl, but want to play music too, so I think he should not get an amp to play at 0.5v daily. He has 2 18" subs (I guess Soundstream) with VC of 1.2 ohms. He can have a load of 0.6 or 2.4 for each sub, so 1.2 ohm for both. He will keep on upgrading the electrical system, but already has some AGM batteries in the car. I just thought about Stetsom amps. What brand should we look for ? What amps ? budget : let's say $1500 for amps. He will have shipping and custom taxes to pay. He's in a hurry, because the next local comp is on 02/20/2011. If you need more info, just ask. Thank you.

I havn't posted here in awhile since I was comfortable enough with the stereo setup I had in my Altima. But I just bought a new car and need some advice on whether or not I should keep the stock deck and run a LOC or if I should replace it with an aftermarket deck. A little background on the vehicle, 2007 Chrysler 300 with a sound package that gives me 8 speakers and an amplifier to run them. Three 3.5s on the dash, 2 6x9s in the front doors, 2 6x9s on the rear deck, an infinite baffle 8 inch subwoofer housed in the rear deck and a 368w amplifier. I kept the amplifier(sae100d) and subwoofer(z15) from my previous install, so they will handle the low bass. I don't plan on c…

  20. I am in need of help. I have the sundown 3k and it has been working without any problems for a while now. I went to bump today and there was nothing so when I opened up the back it was in protect with the slight blue of the power light being on. I didnt do anything out of the ordinary and when I shut it off last it was working perfect. I took the backing off and there doesnt look like anything wrong but yet again I dont know nothing so it could be blown for all I know. What I have done as far as trouble shooting: removed RCA wires and turned on still went into protect Removed speaker wires but still goes into protect removed power wire and of course nothing happens Let me…

I know almost everyone here has auxiliary batteries to push their systems, but how did you wire them up? Did you run an output wire from your alternator to the primary battery, then run another run to your auxiliary(s), or did you run wiring straight from the alternator to both? Anybody using a dual-battery isolator or relay system, or is it just a waste of time and/or expense? GM originally used a parallel wiring scheme for its factory dual-battery system, I'm just wondering if that is the BEST way. I don't want to have any adverse effects on the alternator. I just want to do it right.
