I'm looking for an aftermarket processor for my factory system. I've been looking at the JL Clean sweep, MTX Bass ResQ, RF 360.2, and finally the AudioControl. I need a Processor that can handle possibly active set up, 2-4 Channels for mids and highs and lastly a subwoofer output. I like the Clean sweep and 360.2 so i can get a good feel for automatically Eqing ( I know it's not the best but it's a start ). The car is a 2011 Ford mustang With factory everything and stock system. The speakers I will be using are the Bravox CF 6.5's, the amps will probably either be Stetsom or Sundown audio, my budget is at most 600. Essentially i'm looking for the best bang for the buck, E…

Never ran active in my life so I have some questions Amp is a SAX-100.4 Comps are the Cresendo CCX65. They are rated at 100 rms a side. Doing this passive is easy, but I am wondering how to split the power levels between the mids and the high's. 50/50? 75/25? Or even 99/1? (heard the tweeters are kinda bright lol) When setting gains if I want say 75 watts on the rear channels I'd play 1000hz test tone. Hook the dmm to 1 rear channel and turn the gain till the dmm reads 17.32 volts correct? So that should be 75 watts per channel. ( 4 ohm load ) I plan on crossing the mids and highs at 3000hz, so should I still use the 1000hz test for setting the gains on the highs respect…

Just thinking about the future here and expanding my system. I was looking at the audiopipe 1500's and the 3k's. From what I've read the 3k's are just 2 1500's in one case. So my question is: Would it be better to just get the 1 3k or the 2 1500's. Is it more efficient to run the one bigger amp or is it just a wash since its really the 2 smaller amps in one. Or does it really matter? And in case its needed. These will be pushing 2 Fi Q 15's.

I have always seen to use a 50-60hz sine wave note when setting gains with a DMM. And this is what I did, I downloaded a 50hz and 45hz note from realmofexcursion.com and went to set my gains. The number I was aiming for was 34 volts, and I did it first with the 50hz, and reached 34 volts. But then, out of curiosity I played the 45hz tone and the output voltage went way up. Like around 45 volts. I was not expecting this jump. I always thought the voltage would be higher in the 50-60hz range?

Here's the deal, in my previous few installs, I had been using a simple 12$ RCA bass control knob. You run RCA's from the HU to the knob, then from the knob back to the amplifier controlling the input level from the head unit to the amp. Simple. Well I recently got a new amp, which came with a Remote bass control knob. I hooked this knob up to the amp via the telephone jack looking remote cable, while still running my RCA's through the original knob. I've been keeping the RCA knob at 100% and using the remote to control the levels.. My question is, is this a bad idea for any reason at all? Perhaps output voltage from the RCA's or something of that nature? Also, what are t…

I'm contemplating setting up a Car PC for my truck..The one thing that confuses me though is whenever I use an aux source (Ipod) I notice a loss of loudness. Does that generally occur with a Car PC setup too?

Hello SSA members. I just recently installed my system into my new car. Running a 15" FIQ off a zx1500.1 @ 4ohms. I ran this same setup for about a year now, only difference is I upgraded my wiring, 4 gauge to 0 gauge. My amp gets really hot, FAST. Bass boost and all sub levels set to 0, and I don't run my gains high at all, 1/2 way at the absolute most. My amp has gotten hot before, but not the hot and especially not this fast. Does anyone have a clue to what the problem may be? If there's any other info that you may need, feel free to ask. Thanks.

Okay, my brother picked up a JL Audio 1000/1v2 This thing has so many filters/settings it's very different from my sundown. What do they all mean? I've never messed with an amp with all these kind of settings. "Q" Center Freq Infrasonic Freq Filter Freq Mode/Slope -- Off/12/24 Input Voltage -- Low/High Input Sens

Ok so I am about to add a battery soon to my system and I was talking to a local audio place and he said an idea and wanted to make sure it would work without issue's. So When i run my wire back from my front battery I need to place a fuse close to that battery, Then everyone always says you should place another fuse right before the rear battery on the same power line. Then I wasn't for sure if you need another fuse between the rear battery and the amp also since its only like a 2-3ft wire of power?... But ok.. so he said instead of buying a fuse near my rear battery and a fuse between the amp and rear battery ( because this would = 3 total fuses ) He said on the rear b…

i have a jvc kwnx700, a TEAC 200 watt two channel, and a set of phoenix gold components. Recently, I bought a Fi Bl 12" , a sundown Saz-1500d, and an optima yellow top for the trunk. I wired up the batt with 1/0 welding cable and tested my high amp. it worked great. I hooked up the sub amp with 1/0 and using the old remote turn on from my previous sub set up. It didn't kick on. I then tried my remote turn on that i used on my highs. it still didn't power up. i then went back up front and found my radio off. that remote wire was spliced into the power for my HU. Could I have caused a short by yanking on it? Why wouldn't the sub amp kick on? any help would be greatly apprec…

I'm still not getting the full output of my sub (BL 12), most likely because of low/bad signals from the LOC crudely tapped into the rear speakers at the moment. But I would like to get a new head unit that will give me nice clean signals straight from the head unit. I've narrowed it down to these two (although I'm open for suggestions, like always). I've read on the Steve Meade Forums that this line of the Pioneer head unit was great. But the Kenwood seems very similar. I would like to hear some opinions. http://www.crutchfield.com/s_130P6200BT/Pioneer-DEH-P6200BT.html?tp=5684 http://www.crutchfield.com/s_113KDCX794/Kenwood-Excelon-KDC-X794.html?tp=5684

Does this make sense? Am I looking at this right? What I would like to do it setup my starter battery to an aux battery... I can connect the 2 negative terminals from both batteries okay, is it safe? Also, would I then still have to ground the aux battery to chassis? is it just good to have an extra ground off the aux battery? Could the amps be connected to the negative terminals of the aux battery if I have both terminals from the 2 batteries connected? Help me make sense of this or tell me how to do this better... Didn't think this was advanced so I made a generic post... thanks guys or does this work better?

The alt is mechman 250amp adjustable voltage and the battery is xspower d1400 14v. I know that there is no definite answer but do you guys think that this would be sufficient to power 3 amps? (saz 3000d a jl 500/5 and a jl e4300) Maybe make it two batteries? Better alt?(recommendation for 1)

I turn on my car today, and I get nothing out of the front speakers except some buzzing, popping, and engine whine. Everything was perfect last night when I turned the car off. I'm driving an 08 Scion tC, JVC KD-AHD69 head unit with a CV 400.4 amp running a pair of Diamond Audio D3's in the front, my rear speakers are powered by the head unit. I checked fuses, ground, power, and RCA's: they are all good. Here is a video I took of what the sound is, and the second is of the front speakers picking up the sound of my mirror as I adjust it. Any help anybody?

i just wanna know if anyone thinks this is good for about 2000w on stock alt puttin 13.9-14v idle and 14v+ engine rev. with 1000cca starter bat and kinetik 2000 in back all 0ga big three and such. i am not a competitor, not lookin to get the full 4k out of the amp, before everyone starts saying how you have to run it at 18v to see 4k. just wanna know if this is good enough to get 2000w for 2 12" fissd's. i have done searches also before i get flamed for this, but the few that wasn't bashing this amp were old ones for sale or people trying to get the full 4k from it, or modding it for 1 ohm use. dont need all that just 2k is fine for me, thanks.

I have a JL 500/5 which is 100 rms ch 1 & 2 and 25 rms ch 3 & 4 I am thinking of using it to run my bravox cs60cf active. My biggest question is what should i do about the rear should i amplify the rear speakers (bravox cx60cf) or run them off the deck. The reason I ask is because I also have a JL e4300 4 channel amp. I have heard some people say dont amp the rears and some say you should amp them and i don't know what to do yet any help would be cool.

Alright so I have been waiting to get money for 1/0 wiring and then my friend who is in an automotive electrical class in a local college here messaged me and said that he thinks 4 awg would be big enough for my big 3 Since my alt is only a 70 amp alt and He read that 4 awg should carry up to 150 amps.. At least in that short of a run (1ft-5ft runs) Just wanna make sure if this will work before I buy it in about 45mins. I dont have enough yet for all the 1/0 but I have enough to afford 4 awg if it is good enough now. After he said that i figured well 1/0 can carry more current at a time and quicker.. but.. If my alt only puts out 70 and 4 awg can carry 150.. Is there…
