My headunit is the alpine cde-102 and I got the alpine kce-433iv (full speed connection cable made specifically for my hu). Hooked the cable up to the rear pigtail connection, flipped through all the sources on HU and it shows nothing. If I set it to Aux, I can play music from the ipod but can't control ipod from headunit. So it's acting as a normal 3.5mm jack aux cable... I tried switching settings from Aux input ON to OFF and that only enabled/disabled the music from ipod, but still no headunit controls. My ipod is a touch 2g, I've also tried a ipod nano 2g, and no avail. Anyone have a similar problem or solution? Perhaps my cable is crap, but it seems odd for a new cab…

Would two XS Power D3400's be okay to run that? I have high output 270 Amp dc alt. Or should i get two XS Power D3100's?

I'm on the search for an affordable amp that will do rated power. Looking for 2000w @ 1ohm. It will be pushing hopefully a pair of Icon 15's or z15's. Electrical: 200amp h.o Alternator Optima yellow under the hood 1/0 Big three. Also on the search for a decent battery to add to the back if need be.

Any experiences with these two amps? Are they close to the same quality and performance?

So last night I sat down and made a small list of wiring and accessories I'll need to get my saz 3500d powered. I'll be running one battery upfront and two in the back. Has anyone used the TRYSTAR Flexible Welding Cable in any of your installs? If so is it a good wire?

OK, here is scenario- Got a 20A relay on remote turn on wire with 3 amps and some leds on it. The 15A fuse on the relay popped today... that means it drew WAY too much current... i have a short somewhere... I check- 3 wires were pulled out of the remote turn on distro block that was reading ground.... 1 of these wires is an LED wire. The other 2 wires go to my sundown 100.4 and the other wire goes to both AQ3500Ds remote turn on... The LED wire reads 0.0 ohms and the turn on wires for all 3 amps are reading 0.2 ohms.... Is the remote turn on's grounded? Did the led wire cause a massive surge through all the remote turn ons?

Hey I new with audio most of the time I have a mini truck which I never could fit a system into the cab but anyways i just bought a clarion amp made in 1996 and it has never been hooked up its a two channel apa2100 so what kind of subs could i run to get the best sound out of it is going in a 96 rodeo so i have room for about anything but anything would help thanks

Not too sure what to think of these... 100ah batteries for 160 bucks? I'm assuming that build quality isn't there compared to other high end battery makers, would they even be worth using? I'll probably be needing some backup electrical sometime soon and don't have a ton of money.

So is there any way i could hook up something so it would be like running 2 4 ohm subs at 2 ohms? I have a single 4 ohm sub and i was wondering if you could put something with it to be able to change the resistance.. Like idek what a resistor really is but it kinda sounds about right... This is probably impossible but i wanted to ask before i recone my sub to single 2 ohm for a third of what i bought it for.. Thanks for any help. This post is really just my imagination at work... I just ordered a 1200rms amp from Hifonics, then, on sale I found another hifonics amp of the same class and everything on sale for the same price, but its 1700rms! The 2 subs im running will take 400-500rms each, so I know the amp is overpowered, but should I cancel my order and get the 1700rms??? I wont lose anything, I just need to know if the amp is too powerful? I would like to save the amp for a future more powerful setup. I have a 2000 mustang, and I only play music while the car is turned on, will the 1700 amp be too much to start my car? or will I notice any difference in power even if I keep everything turned down to only be pushing about 800-1000rms??? should i set the amp and hu to match each other? ive heard of bypassing the amp's low pass crossover if thats even possible. any help would be appreciated.

i finally took the plunge and vented my box...and i have noticed that the bass output changes per song or cd(which happened with the sealed box also)..some songs are loud and deep and others have nothing?..i was wondering if theses processors really to restore the low end in all recordings..im goin to get into the sd chips for music so i want everything to sound the same..thanks in advance...

here is the situation, i was going to install my new alternator, when i took the belt off the old alt, i noticed something, even though i had all the tensioner down, it didnt come out easily, wasnt a really hard task, but was unusual then, when i installed everything, i was going to put on the belt, but couldnt put it in place, it needed just a bit more to enter, and a friend suggested me to put a longer belt what are your opinions, but would need them fast, need to do it before going to school tomarrow

ok everything is hooked up right is there a setting on the headunit to turn the subs on or am i fucked

...and what do you like or dislike about it? I am in the market for a DMM. I read here about true rms DMMs after someone mentioned to be aware of this feature. Is this necessary for setting up gains when a constant frequency is used to get a voltage measurement? Also, how accurate or unnecessary would a clamp meter prove to be? At the moment, I feel I am shopping for a clamp meter with true rms feature. I appreciate your thoughts.

Presently I own two Coustic 505DR's, three Coustic 510DR's and one Soundstream Rubicon 702. All pretty sweet old school amplifiers (if I do say so myself ). However, I'm very seriously contemplating selling them all and picking up three or four Rockford Fosgate T3002's. I'm wanting to compete in IASCA 0-600w class. With the RF's, I would have potential power of well over 2kw, yet still remain in the 0-600w bracket. With my current amps, I would be pushing the limit of 600w with even two of them, and I wouldn't have much more actual total power output than that 600w. Plus the RF amps are 1ohm/channel stable, were as the Coustics are not.....so the RF's really have fut…

Anyone know if the CCD-2400's are strappable? I just ordreed a pair of them and am trying to find out and Concept's Tech support has been less than fabulous. Trieid for over a week to get them to answer and email with a few questions with no response. I have called them half a dozen times with no answer at the Tech support line. So I have left some messages with no response. Is it possible they have just one tech guy and he is on vacation? I hope this is not a sign of things to come from them.

Like the title says I am looking to put 2 12" FI Q's in my 05 ford focus. Ive never built a box but plan on trying to build this one haha. Any recommendation anyone has that would power these 2 well would be great. I currently have a 12 w3v3 hooked up to a TMA 500.1 amp (think thats right). The new box can be either ported or sealed, as i don't mind going across the entire width of the trunk, i will however need to leave the first foot and a half or so of the trunk open for my golf bag( plus room for flex? or mount up?). It's been a while since I've used my o-scope and I've read alot on how to set the amp gains but while i've been trying to see the clipping I've had some problems being able see where clipping begins on the h/u. From what i seen it was at 53 on an alpine deh-4000ub as i was setting the gain i barely touched the gain knob and it was in clipping and i dont want to have my h/u at 53 just to get bass. im using a bk precision 2120. i'm running a re -sx 12 in a 35hz box connected to an AQ1200d. can i get some suggestions on the way to set these properly fellas?

I'm helping a friend put together his system. This has to be such a rookie question but its something I've never had to deal with, all my systems I buy decks with enough RCA outputs. He refuses to spend money on a deck. He has a few laying around but only have 1 set of outputs on each deck. He plans to use 2 amps in his system (highs amp and sub amp) what's the best method to do this as far as running the rca's.
