Ok so I am looking into suggestions for 1. Good headunit for 2 way active set up 2. Amplifier for front stage to power (2)seasl22 8 ohm & (2) peerless hds tweeters 8 ohm 1a. Looking into alpine 9887 and eclipse cd7200, trying to stay away from pioneer after several problems in the past. 2a. I just got an omega Excalibur installed by a shop around here and I'm having a very strange issue that hopefully someone can shed some light on. The shop has been troubleshooting this problem for over a week now. So here isnthe problem... After I arm the system, 30 minutes to the dot the alarm triggers and kills my ignition. What this means is the remote start feature becomes entirely useless unless I constantly start it before the 30 minutes is up. Today the installer told me it's the trunk that's triggering the alarm. I don't know anything about alarms so I'm pretty lost here. The installer has been doing this stuff for years and has never seen this happen. Anybody have…

Ok. I will give as much info as I can. I have $600 for a new amp. I have 2 FI Q 15s dual 2s in an 8 cube box at 33hz walled. It's a daily setup. Right now I have 2 older hifonics Amps and I'm running them at 4 ohms. So right now I have about a 500 watt system. What amp will be the best bang for my buck thats around 3000 watts? And how much of a difference will a new good amp make compared to the 2 hifonics Amps I have now?

this is really wierd. umm after i hooked up my friends speakers. when it was at my house, there was no noise at all. but now my friend calls me when he gets home, and he hears this high pitch whistling noise comin from the speakers, but its only at low volumes. When he turns the volume high, the noise goes away and everything is fine. I'm guessing a ground problem, but there is no noise from the subs and why did it appear when my friend get home?

Hey guys, The system in my 2011 Ram is driving me crazy... Here is what is going on. At high volumes the draw from the amplifiers is kicking my trucks ass. The dash lights are dimming, the voltage drop is causing my HID lights to kick on and off, and I'm pretty sure that the PCM is trying to compensate by increasing the voltage regulation from the alternator. The voltage regulator is controlled by the PCM. It is not built into the alternator. When it is playing loud, it seems like the PCM is kicking the voltage up to about 15.5v according the my Bel radar detector voltage display and the HI VOLT warning it keeps flashing and beeping at me. What do you guys use to crimp the larger power and ground wires. I don't have a need for the crimper that big much but got by with using the vise. Any other methods?

I was wondering if my Hifonics Brutus BXi 1610D amp can handle 18v? and if so how will it affect its sound and output? I have a 58amp continuous output switching power supply that I just bought to power it in the house, of course i'm not expecting full power, but I was just wondering how well it will handle that voltage and if it is to high the power supply is adjustable. But let me know ok, hopefully it will be better than my 12 volt 16 amp power supply that it is on right now.

Is it ok to use only two channels of a four channel amp?

finally got my wires ran and amp hooked up now all i need to do is find somewhere to put the crossovers for my component set. there really isnt any room behind the door panel, would they be ok behind the kick panel (guess this is what its called)? there is just barely enough room for them but they fit. this is where im thinking Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Could this be why my amp cuts on and off and goes into protect? I didn't pay it any attention before because the filament or whatever is in the center wasn't broken.

I've had about 3 of them and l loved each one the same, I've had alot of big amps and this lil puppy is the only one that starts to smoke the coils on my DDs within mins of serious play, not enough to blow my 9515s but if you ever need a small amp that puts out a REAL 1500-1800 watts D300hc is the only way to go for 250-300 bucks the only down side is that it does NOT have a subsonic filter and me and other guys like me that loves the sound of a ported enclosure , that comes in handy.. just bought me another one for 80 bucks (blown)

ok everything is hooked up right is there a setting on the headunit to turn the subs on or am i fucked

ive recently upgraded my subs and now i cant hear anything when im full tilt. im going to delete the rear speakers and i was looking for a decent 2 ch amp for my front speakers. im curious to see if you guys have any suggestions for a budget amp that can do ~50-100 rms each @ 2 ohm. i had a few questions also. if the amp had lets say 1% THD would that be noticeable? also how important is the signal to noise ratio? would 80db be really bad? (these are extreme examples) another thing, if the amp is cea compliant does that mean their THD and signal to noise numbers must be true, or is it only hold true to rms ratings? thanks!

I've been searching the past few days for a ~2000w RMS amplifier around the $200 price range. Here's a couple amps I'm torn between: Audiopipe AP1800D - rated at 1800w rms @ 1ohm --- 180-200$ Hifonics HiFi2000D - Rated at 2000w rms @ 1 ohm --- 200-230$ Quantum Audio QA4000D - Rated at 2000w rms @ 1 ohm --- 220-240$ These are not top of the line amps no doubt, but which of these three would most likely put out the cleanest signal, do close to rated power and most efficiently? And any other ideas on other amps around this price range around 2kw rms? (No more than $250)

I'm adding a second battery and want/need to get a battery isolator. The battery is an XS XP750 AGM Battery Power Cell and I'm getting it because I have a 160 amp alternator, NVX JAD 800.4 and Rockford Fosgate T-1500bd. That RF amp pulls 180 amps max (I don't typically listen to sine waves) so I need a 200 amp isolator, correct? Would there be any harm getting the 500 amp isolator because (believe it or not) I can find them cheaper (and in stock) than the 200 amp models.

so what would be the best way to run rca for 6 amps? HU has 3 rca outputs front rear sub, and if i understand corectly i can only do 1 amp in master and 1 in slave, so this would b ring me down to 3 for my sub amps what would be the next route?

Hey fellas.... Just got this HU installed the other day... Lovin' it soo far.. Some questions: Slope - I have the option of 6db, 12db, or 18db for the subwoofer... Currently I have it at 18db with a cutoff of 100hz ... Good/bad? Ideas? I don't have a great front stage so I thought going up that high would help with overall sound... On the speakers I have them crossed at 125hz with a 12db slope instead of a 6db since I don't want the speakers to sound like crap going below that 125hz... Am I doing this correctly?? Any one able to confirm the dimensions of the saz-3500. I know the sundown site says 660x250x54 but I heard someone say it's bigger than that. Cheers Karl
