Title says it all. It might protect when I first turn the ignition on,sometimes low volume, sometimes full tilt. Mind blown about it. Readjusted the gains, checked my connections, checked voltage at the amp, lowest I seen it was 13.4 full tilt

Long story short, my system has been under construction for quite some time. I decided to throw some speakers in the doors via the factory speaker wires just to have something to listen to, but there was no sound. My first thought was a short somewhere in the wires, so I wired one speaker directly to the HU's harness (literally at the back of the HU, not through harness adapter) and it still produced absolutely nothing. I played around with the settings and couldn't find anything that could cause this. Am I missing something stupid, or is this HU fried?

I can pick alternators for $20 at my local yard, for an extra hundred odd amps would getting a bracket fabbed be worth it? Not planning to exceed 3k rms for a year or so. Just a hifonics brx 2k and a taramps 250x4. Suppose I'm askin, how much would a bracket and a longer belt run me?

I am wondering how to go about wiring 2 older fin style rf bd 1000.1 amps to a single 18" old 3 stack Fi btl. The sub needs a recone so I could get dual 2 or 1 ohm coils.both the amps have the spot for the sync cord.the real question I have is one amp to each coil @ 2 ohm? or get the dual 1 ohm coils and run both amps in parallel to both coils in parallel? I never used the bd sync cord, don't know if I should trust it? I don't want one workin harder than the other.as u guys know I'm looking for a 2 ohm load on these amps. Thanks a ton for any input!!!

I mean exact wiring for this...i feel like it wasnt done correctly bc we are incorporating the crossovers into the mix. STOCK HU. Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.2 Crescendo 800.4 Crescendo 1500.1 2 sets of Mezzos. 4 tweeters and 4 6.5's Fi Q D2 Im not sure why, but my guys that helped me out with they system incorporated the crossovers into the system. I thought the 360 could be used instead of crossovers. If someone has some time and would really like to help a fellow car audio fanatic out, how would you wire this setup? I would love to see a diagram drawn out!

I was just wondering if this is bad for my car. I have two sa 12s and a hifonics BE2500.240a mechman alternator, big 3, zapper d2400 and a xp750. When I was playing Elie Gouldings "High for this" decaf after the bass drop my voltage shot up to 16.4 Is there something I should do to.regulate it? Or will it be.fine if it happens again?

So I've been researching ground connections, always trying to learn more about a subject, since I was upgrading some things its always a good time to refresh my memory. I've basically come across several ways suggested to make a good ground, and there are a few that stand out to me. 1) Using dielectric grease to seal moisture out of the connection area, with the idea that when you crank down on the nut to secure a ground lug to the chassis it will push this grease out of the way so the metal connects properly together and helps seal out moisture. 2) White lithium grease. I've seen this mentioned several times, but I truly feel it may be an outdated recommendation. …

Okay so maybe this is a stupid question just because the amount of power should be fairly close to one another. But I have 2, 15in zcon d2. And im going to buy a new amp, next week. I was thinking of cresendo 5500 and running it at .5 ohms like i am now. But somebody local to me is selling 2 svc 3000. If i strap them ill be doing 6k at 2 ohms. Or my origin plan of crezenxo amp which is rated for 5850 @1ohm. Since im running that at .5ohms not, sure how much ill actually be getting theres no spec on .5 ohm. So my question is which way would be better or does it not matter since theyll be pretty, close? Is this just going to be what brand i choose to run or is there more pro…

Sorry, the topic may be a little vague. I've recently found myself researching amplifiers as I may be replacing my zapco c2k 9.0xd amp shortly. I have 2 12" dvc subs with 1ohm per coil, and they handle 1800wRMS/ea. they're situated in a 4.2cu/ft box tuned to 30hz. The zapco puts out around 2200wRMS and I was looking for something a little closer to the subs rated input or over. So I've been working on a spreadsheet to compare different amps to try and discern a value. This task has been pretty difficult, most of the amps I'm looking at seem to be extremely similar or clones of one another? My understanding is that an "OEM" would reach out with a chinese or korean manufac…

I'm looking for a two or a four channel small enough to mount in my dash. Wanted a zed micro, but it's a little more than I want to spend at the moment. Been looking at one of these and running it bridged http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-KTP-445U-4-channel-Power-Amplifier/dp/B003VVYL46

Should I still bother with a frame ground if all my amps have direct positive and negative from the battery? My sub amp current has direct runs to the battery of 1/0, which are both less than ten feet.

Whats going on guys, I'm facing a little dilemma. About a month ago I ordered two SSA Xcon 12's, I was planning on running them on my Audiopipe APCL3000 monoblock, but from what I hear these things are comfortable at a little above their rated power handling (1750 rms each), so I decided that I was going to only used the Audiopipe 3000 to break the subs in, then I will be upgrading to a bigger amp (maybe a 4000-5000 watt monoblock). I ordered my subs at DVC 2ohm so that I could wire them both in series up to 4ohm, then wire the subs together in parallel to give my Audiopipe amp a 2 ohm load, because that's where its stable and makes its power at. But now I can't find an…

So here is my setup in the back of my crew cab: You can follow the blue 4ga OFC and see the power inputs for the amp. My question is in regards to the ground. Right now the 100.4 (on the left) is grounded to the bolt you can see through the carpet almost under that amp. The 1000D is not hooked up yet, but I don't really think a run of 4ga to that same bolt is a good enough ground. Do you guys agree? I was originally planning to put a bolt through the floor right under the 1000D and ground both there, but the fuel tank is directly below that amp. I have 4ga OFC as well as some spare 1/0 CCA. Here are the options I see: A) Get a 1/0 to 4ga reducer for the ground input and…
