Okay I am some what new to this forum. I have been reading it for quite some time now and see that everyone is pretty helpful. I have a couple of questions about the Fi Audio Btl 18. I see that it comes in dual 1 or dual 2. Well I have a kicker sx 1250.1 and it does about 1310 at 1 Ohm. I was thinking about getting another one and strapping them to power just one fi audio btl 18. Well from what I have read strapping the two kick sx 1250.1 amps together will give me a 2 0hm load which I unfortunately do not want but do you think I can connect either a dual 1 or dual 2 to the amps with out effecting the sub or the amps. I figured if anything it would effect the amp since I …

  3. Simple question really. I know setting your gain with HU at around 75% is going to give you the best voltage output without distortion from your HU to your amp. That being said, with my current Grand Cherokee Limited infinity stock speakers 75% sounds like ass. (stock speakers get too loud) Btw, I'm setting the gain for my sub amp a RD 1750.1 at .5 ohms to a Treo SSX 12 with a Shuriken BT100 in the back. All 0 gauge and big 3 is done. HU is Alpine CDA-9886 with Subwoofer level and Bass/Treble. Also has a HPF which I'm not too sure actually does anything. I thought it would keep bass from going to my stock speakers? That's besides the point. Basically, my question is if …

Is the Deka decent at start vehicles? My dad offered to put $200 to a new battery for me, and I have heard nothing but good things about the Deka's. Anyone have any major problems? And how does it compare to the Optima Yellow Top?

i was looking into getting another HU for my blazer i now have the 860 but i just wanted to try something new and "cool" http://www.cardomain.com/item/CLADXZ955MC how about this jvc? it looks cool but how is the control on it? im not really in need of all the stuff in my 860 like the 3 way and time alignment and all that stuff but i do like the crossovers for the doorspeakers and sub and the control you have on those, and the layout is real easy to learn http://www.crutchfield.com/S-OKeMj9l8Bf1/c...300&I=257KDAVX1 everyone i know has pioneer and i wanted something different although theirs are the 2 series and 3 series and 1 6 series anyone?

It's been a while since I've used my o-scope and I've read alot on how to set the amp gains but while i've been trying to see the clipping I've had some problems being able see where clipping begins on the h/u. From what i seen it was at 53 on an alpine deh-4000ub as i was setting the gain i barely touched the gain knob and it was in clipping and i dont want to have my h/u at 53 just to get bass. im using a bk precision 2120. i'm running a re -sx 12 in a 35hz box connected to an AQ1200d. can i get some suggestions on the way to set these properly fellas?

Do they stll make those small, cheap amplifiers??? You know: like the Sherwood 25 x 4 (max wattage) type deal (for use with a factory radio).

Hey guys, The system in my 2011 Ram is driving me crazy... Here is what is going on. At high volumes the draw from the amplifiers is kicking my trucks ass. The dash lights are dimming, the voltage drop is causing my HID lights to kick on and off, and I'm pretty sure that the PCM is trying to compensate by increasing the voltage regulation from the alternator. The voltage regulator is controlled by the PCM. It is not built into the alternator. When it is playing loud, it seems like the PCM is kicking the voltage up to about 15.5v according the my Bel radar detector voltage display and the HI VOLT warning it keeps flashing and beeping at me. The truck has a 180amp alternato…

so my question is, what size alternator should i need. i have 2 cvx122 kickers running off a saz2500d running at 2 ohms, custom ram-designs box, (which by the way is sweet and well worth the money ) 2 runs of 0gauge pos, 1 run of 0gauge neg, big 3, 1 d3100. its a 98 s10 4.3 x motor(hi output). i bought a 220 powermaxx but unsure if this is enuff. Any way to calculate if i need more or another batt?

Looks good but the installation of the steering control module (PAC SWI-ALP) was a little more involved than I anticipated. Still very happy will post pics soon!! PS- Sounds really good.

I was wondering if my Hifonics Brutus BXi 1610D amp can handle 18v? and if so how will it affect its sound and output? I have a 58amp continuous output switching power supply that I just bought to power it in the house, of course i'm not expecting full power, but I was just wondering how well it will handle that voltage and if it is to high the power supply is adjustable. But let me know ok, hopefully it will be better than my 12 volt 16 amp power supply that it is on right now.

hi, i have 2 sundown sd1 v1 12" and i am thinking about using them until i can get enough money to buy to system i really want so if i can limit how much i spend the better. anyway i already have a sundown sax100.2 that i was going to use to power them but the problem being that it does not have a subsonic filter on it. and i was wondering if i could get away with using my alpine 9887 crossovers and my sax100.2 crossovers and bandpass it, if that would ok an ok alternative.

So im about to buy a daily BTL 18 with cooling, the HiXm coil, and whatever color dustcap. (any one color look awesome to you guys?) I don't have much money for an amp, only about $400 so i'll probably buy a temporary one untill i get enough money (that sundown audio stuff is WAY too expansive...). Either way it's going to be at 2000 rms. This is the only aftermarket thing on my stereo (2009 mustang w/shaker 1000). The BTL will replace two pioneer premier 12's (begginer subs only about 400 rms). From what i've read, im going to need to some electrical upgrades. The Big 3 i can do. Am i going to need a high output alternator?? and how many amps am i looking at? Is it absol…

  17. Couple weekends ago I was at a car show and a hertz sales rep was talking massive trash about sundown amps (and other non-mainstream companies). He stated that it is impossible for sundown amps and other amps of similar build to do rated power on strictly pcb board. he said hertz amps had a solid copper plate underneath the circuitry to deal with producing high current (1000watts+ or whatever). So my question is, do sundown amps (and others) have any plating underneath the boards? If not, then how do they handle all the current without frying? I'm not in any way, shape or form questioning sundown quality (as I have a saz-1500d myself , but just interested in how all this …

So I recently traded a Kicker 350.4 for two Tang Band W6-1721 drivers and now I have a question. I have never thought of this before and don't remember seeing it done, but on a four channel 2 ohm stable amp could you run two channels at 4 ohms and the other two at 2 ohms? I want to have the Tang Bands up front with my Tantric 6.5 components and in the rear doors have a second set of Tantrics.

I've been searching the past few days for a ~2000w RMS amplifier around the $200 price range. Here's a couple amps I'm torn between: Audiopipe AP1800D - rated at 1800w rms @ 1ohm --- 180-200$ Hifonics HiFi2000D - Rated at 2000w rms @ 1 ohm --- 200-230$ Quantum Audio QA4000D - Rated at 2000w rms @ 1 ohm --- 220-240$ These are not top of the line amps no doubt, but which of these three would most likely put out the cleanest signal, do close to rated power and most efficiently? And any other ideas on other amps around this price range around 2kw rms? (No more than $250)
