sorta noob question but ive never had this particular predicament before Would it be ok to run 4 awg from the ground on the batt to my amp and run 1/0 from the+ batt to a distro to my amp. i know the ground and power have to be the same awg when putting them into a amp. my car has a very poor ground in the trunk and this option will save me some money an time until i can get more 1/0 to run from the front to the back. my amp has 4 awg inputs so would i be ok doing this since i would be using both 4awg for ground and power. i do plan on upgrading the the gound to 1/0 since im goin to add a few batts but this is only temp for maybe a month.

Hey guys, i was looking into batteries for the near future because my stock one just isnt really doing it for me right now. The well known XS brand stuck out to me, and i saw that their batteries have beastly current output, but i was also looking at Optima batteries, and i wasn't sure which is the better of the two. XS has more output for current, but Optima has a "gel layered top", whatever the hell that means. I'm leaning toward XS but if anyone can explain to me the pros and cons of each battery, and whatever the heck gel layered top means, it would greatly be appreciated!

I would like to know what makes a alternaor company good verses a crappy one? What makes it charge at 14.4, what determines amps at idle, etc etc. etc.? Basically the innerworkings of a alternator. Would a rebuild kit be better?

hey yall, i just wanted to get your opinions on the volt meter i have. i actually bought this Autometer voltage gauage quite a few months ago for around 60$ (msrp 120$) and um i thinking should i get that install for my system? or should i get a digital one since this one is a gauge and it doesnt tell u the EXACT voltage.. and if the digital one.. which one should i buy? no one near me seems to be selling it less then 100$... thanks!!

when puting the fuses back in my amp i broke the thing that holds the fuse. so right now i am just running a lead (with a fuse in it) from the holder thats not broken to the power 12v on the amp. will this be ok to keep this way. or is it wasy to just heat up the solder and put a new holder in and where can i get one. could i get a in line fuse holder and run from one lead to another and solder them in. i cant run just one amp.. there in a common camber box all 4.

Alright here the deal i just got my custom built box in today. so i go to hook it up after wiring my subs up to my new box to my amp and right when i turn on my car and my cd player i hear no bass or music coming from my door speakers. so i go to the back to check both my 4 channel amp and my sub amp and they both show power like nothing is wrong just no sound.

i know this is a stupid ? lol ... if i have the bass boost off on the amp then will the bass boost knob up that comes w the amp work or is it just worthless?

I have an fi q 12 in a ported enclosure tuned to 32 Hz. Where on the dial is 28-29 Hz so I can set it properly. Also where should I put the lpf? Thanks a lot for the help

I'm wanting to go with a 3-way active system in the SC sometime in the future. I already have a Pioneer 880 and a 10" SSA Icon. My question, though, is about signal. I know my HU had 3-way abilities, but is that for a tweeter, mid, sub set up? If I want to go tweeter, midrange, mid bass, and sub will I need an external processor?

Promised pics of my D7's when I got them. These are quick shots. I will get some better ones once I get some more time. These are the finest amps I have ever seen or touched in my life. They put the Zap's to shame really bad. Each one weigh roughly 20 lbs. and the build quality along with the crossover's and list of features and options are unmatched by any amp. I have not heard them yet but I can be pretty sure with the statement that these amps will go toe to toe with anything. DAMN! they look good. I am so happy I chose these over the Zapco's.

ok everything is hooked up right is there a setting on the headunit to turn the subs on or am i fucked

I just got my 12" H2 but I have spent to much funds lately. I still have to get my components and an amp for the components. I really wanted to get a 2500 amp but its not going to happen for now. So do you think I will be missing out a lot by getting a 1200 amp? I will be running it in a 1.5 cu ft sealed enclosure.

One of these will be my next amp. The T1500 may or may not be the CP version. I will decide that if I decide to go with the RF amp. Will be powering two DC lvl3 15's.

which is better and why? Looking for cleanest power possible for $150usd. I want something between 70-80wrms 4 channel at 4 ohms. Looking at Orion 4004, pg octane r 80x4 or avionix tsunami db4440.

ok, my s10 3 door has the ram designed box now only problem is the box comes to 3" below the back window. and takes up the whole extra cab. 4.75 cubes. my idea for mounting the 2500d are now limited. can it be mounted upside down? i was thinking of building/welding brackets across roof and mounting upside down. any ideas are helpful

I just bought a brand new sound ordnance 4 channel amp and am still waiting for a new set of speakers for my car. in the meantime I decided to test out a pair of some old alpine type r 6.5s I pulled out of my old car. they don't fit so I put them in a hasty cardboard box to put in the backseat. after installing the amp and hooking up the speakers as rears with the rcas and unplugging my rear stock speakers the alpine hooked up to the amp weren't playing at all. I remember these speakers were working perfectly before and have just been sitting in my house since. Ok so i'm on my first active setup. I have a set of kicker RS6.5 comps. on a sundown SAX-100.4. When we hooked everthing up and tested it for the first time the tweets were working and the mids weren't. So i started unplugging RCAs, if i move around one set of RCAs then i get mids and highs out of only one side. I can even manage to get both tweets but not the passenger midbass to work. So first i thought maybe either RCAs or Bad input. Well turned out the midbass was grounding out. FIXED. Ok now i can't get bother left and right to work unless i run another set of RCAs from the output side to the input side. see pic..... So now i figure that i have a bad set …

Good Afternoon everybody, Ive read threads saying "If you don't have a great sub box you're subs aren't working to their finest." So with that I need a custom box for my 2002 Avalanche rated to spec for (2) 15' V2 Nightshades *when they're available*. What the best Tuning Frequency should it be set at? Should it be Ported/Vented,4th order bandpassed, or T-lined? I still want to use the back every once and a while to carry shit so should the part of the box extended into the bed be sprayed with bedliner or fiberglassed to keep the elements out of the box. And who can you all recommend for the box build to ship it to Miami? My setup "all in boxes ready to install" is a Pio…

Are they any good? The ones in question are the GD-6001 and AP-3001. Do they do rated power? How durable are they? How is the build quality and reliabity? I know that the GD-6001 is CEA Compliant so it should do rated if not more but I am worried about the quality of the amps. I want first hand experience not what people have heard. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Ive been focusing on subwoofer amps mostly other than speaker amps. Are there different type of amps made specificly for speakers but not subwoofers. can someone send me a link or a name of a rockford fosgate amp for just speakers?
