If one's amp would be clipping, resulting in a blown sub, is it a permanent issue? Or does the gain, bass eq, and other filters need to be tuned to insure that it won't happen with the new sub?

I have a pioneer deh 6000 ub that is missing the wires and wire clip, does anyone know where i can get a replacement set?

Made a video to show everyone whats its doing. The amp has been hooked up and running fine for a couple weeks now. Out of no where the amp starts cutting in and out today. When it does, it goes into protect mode. I checked every wire from the battery back and all are good. I even pulled the headunit and checked all connections there too. So here is what happens: Amp cutting in and out while I was running errands today. So I turned the radio off until I go home. When I got home I pulled out all my tools and DMM and checked everything. What was your favorite amplifier you have ever owned, and why was it your favorite? Just a fun topic that involves some retrospect. I was listening to my system, just taking it in today on the way home from work. I had to do too much thinking about my favorite comp set ever and still haven't really nailed down my fave, my favorite sub was simple, but the amp took a little thought. I had to weigh out a few, but the top few were definitely easy to recall. So give it up... The favorite you ever owned and why.

I have the BXi1200d right now and i really like it, no problems at all. I saw that the new Brutus (BRZ) is CEA certified, which is nice. Need some extra juice soon so I was looking for a cheap upgrade. Any thoughts, please.

Eyh, Got a great deal on dual DD3515 2ohm dvc subs, so i'm planning on running them at 2 ohms, Been looking at the kicker 2500.1 amp but is there any more good altarnatives out there ? Thanks, Denven

been a lurker here for a while, but I finally got around to ordering up a ICON 10 and hooked it up to my existing kicker 1000.1 amp. Never had a problem with my amp on my 12 jlw6v2. got it all installed and set the gains pretty low. played some music and slowly turned the gains up till it sounded pretty good which wasnt even half way up on the gains. Now after playing music for a few minutes the sub is playing... The sub cuts out, but the amp isnt showing me its in protect mode. I have an alpine CDA-9853. I'm not sure what would be the best way to set it up. The crossover has front/rear/sub, I'm not sure about the slope and what Hz to tune them to for best sound. I have the front / rear set to 100hz and the slope to 24. It goes flat/6/12/18/24. I would like some advice on how to tune these. The subwoofer setting is what I'm most concerned about. I have a FI BL 12 and blew it. Now in the process of re coning it =( I'm also not sure what to set my amps LPF to.... I was told 80hz but I want to be sure. Many people also mentioned bass boost being bad, is this true? And one more question, should I keep my subwoofer level on 0 at all time…

I have a Soundstream RUB 1600 watt amp wire at 1 ohm. When I set my gains I used the typical 50hz, sub wires disconnected, etc... I set the voltage to 40 volts on the nuts. Hooked everything back up and let er rip. Sounds fine. Well I finally got around to mounting the amp and cleaning up the wires. Before I did that though I double checked my gains. Voltage was at 47 volts? What would cause it to rise like that? I used the same tone as before. So I have been checking it off and on for the last couple days and sure enough, volts keep rising up even the the gain knob hasn't been touched. Any idea on why it would do this? I am planning my first real DIY build and have some questions regarding the wiring... Before I ask, here is my planned setup: Power/Wiring -Stock Battery -Stock Alternator -Big 3 upgrade to all 1/0 gauge wires -300A Fuse -12 gauge speaker wires for the subs Sub/Amp -Fi SSD 15" wired at 1ohm -Audioque AQ1200D (1200rms@1ohm) (40A x3 fuses, 120A total) (4 gauge connectors) 1) Will doing the big 3 upgrade be sufficient enough for my battery and alternator for this system? If not, what else should I look in to? 2) Should I hook up the amp w/ 4 gauge wiring or use 1/0? I would prefer to use 1/0 but the connectors are 4, is there a solution to this? i have been looking around and seeing alot of people using external equalizers. my setup right now is 3 pairs of coaxial speakers and 2 re audio 10 inch subwoofers. i have a kenwood deck with the basic bass,mid and treble settings on it. my question is ,is it worth buying an external eq and will i see a big difference with it. i listen to a lot of rap so its bass heavy. and also if i should get an eq any suggestions on what brands ? i have a budget of about 100 to 150$ on one . thanks

ok i know people on here say not to bother with a capasitor but almost everyone in my town here is telling me not to get a 2nd battery b/c it's not going to be as good and i'm wondering y you guys reccomend the battery over a capasitor? they tell me that caps are made for letting big draws out and batterys arn't ment for that, now i'm unsure what to do it's for a daily system a sundown saz2000d and fi btl 12" and big three 1/0 wire.

Any installers have issues with Ford Taurus signal. With my Taurus, the tuner is actually in the trunk and where you change stations is just a control surface I had good reception until I installed a aftermarket head unit and my dash kit came with a 20 foot anntenna extension to reach the trunk and two head units and HD radio later the radio is basically unusable. Is there anyway to solve this. please help

So my buddy was sellin his Lanzar MaxP1200 amp for $70 and i picked it up for the hell of it, So my question is, What wrong with Lanzars exactly? They just really cheap? It says 1800 watts @ 1ohm but i dont believe it so im gonna run it at 2 ohms (900w rated) for the time being Is it a decent amp to run my Icon off of for a couple months until i buy my Audioque?

I have been messing around with my amps and gains the past few days and have a question. I have been trying to set both amps using a DMM and some test tracks (55 and 1k hz). When I run these tracks, I can get the gain set using the multimeter, yet as soon as I put in any music cd's, it is quiet. When at 26 on my deck, the tracks read 22V and 14V for the sub and speaker amps, respectivly, yet when I run music at the same level, it only reads like 5V and 2.5V... Is music suppose to run quieter or would it be ok to up the gain a little?

So i checked today my battery voltage in the manual, its said it was 12.8v fully charged, this weekend into the week i am going to try and get a voltmeter, today i went to walmart, no luck. So the amps ive came down to for powering my 15" Fi BTL are: SunDown:SAZ-1000D which is $315, or maybe something with more if i can find one Audioque: 1200D or 2200D I dont want to buy or invest in an amp that is over $600 so if theres a better option please tell me. on a different note, what would an equalizer do for me,im trying to look into how to turn on and off the sub would a basic bass knob be the best? Before I start going through the troubleshooting list since there is noise with the radio turned off I was thinking there might be a quicker answer. Here goes, my brother had his system installed a couple of years ago in his VW "something" I think jetta but it worked fine the whole time but a week ago all of a sudden there was noise with the radio turned on or off using the turn signal, winsheild wipers, rpm, pretty much anything electrical coming through the speakers with radio on or off like Lelu please help
