I just purchased a sundown 100.4. I'm going to run 6.5's in the kicks and two 3 inch mid ranges in my front pillars. I am going to band-pass channel's 3&4 with the subsonic filter set at 150 hz then setting the Low pass frequency crossover at 4,500Hz for the 6.5. Then channels 1&2 would be set on High Pass and the High Pass Crossover set at 750Hz for my pillars. I will also be running tweeters, those will be running on channels 1&2 also, but those will have a passive crossover set at around 5khz. This is just a rough draft. Now I was wondering can I use my o scope to setup the crossover network. The dials don't have any accurate marks neither do they click.…

So I see aftermarket h/o alts can be regulated upwards to 15v but I also see others doing 16v+. So is 15v safe to run on stock electrical but 16v+ needs changing wiring and fuses? I'm more interested in actually having the alt do 16v, not 18v charging 16v battery So what's involved in running alts with 16v in a car safely?

ok well i have a build come up on monday and i was wondering where to run the 1/0 i mena i have only ran 4awg and that was in the kick panel so i dont know where to run that big ass wire

I just noticed the other day that when I hit the nav. button on my 8120 it just goes to a black screen. The rest of the 8120 seems to be working perfectly.... except for the blacked out nav. screen. I know that the Garmin nav. on the 8120 is hard drive based so I'm wondering if the HD has crashed or died..... I tried resetting the unit but still no luck. Anyone else run across or heard of this issue before? I'm calling Kenwood on Monday but just looking for ideas first.

Just wondering, when connecting from engine block to chassis ground, can I mount from the air compressor bolt to chassis ground? the air compressor is all metal, so i assume its grounded, since it lays on top of the engine. thanks in advance

if i get a h/o alt do i have to change anything else on the car for it to handle the extra amps???

My US Merlin md3d just blew in my car by far one of my favorite amps cause its 1 ohm stable....way underrated...n excepts 0 gauge. Don't kno were to go from here... I can get another Merlin for like 400 and be happy but wanted to here your guys thoughts on Wat I should get.... I'm runnin 2 Orion hcca 10" wired together for 1 ohm....any suggestions would b awesome...thanx

I wanted to pick up a eq soon to really fine tune my system i was thinking of like a 5 or 7 band with sub level, anyone know of any good 1/2 din eq's?

pretty much straight foward, I am getting 2 Q 15's and I am up in the air between these 2 amps, they are both around the same price and I was wondering some of your opinions on which will push/sound the best with the 15's. Also what is the BP option when you order the 15's? Thx Josh

What are some brands of some good solid amplifiers that do over rated power? I know majority of fosgate power series amps are underrated by at least 1k watts

i just had some weird dreams i was being bitten by blackwidow spiders on my left hand and woke up in a panic. (i'm terrified of spider). so it lead me to go to soundstreams website to look at what kind of amps they offer. i see this D tower thing looks pretty sweet. anybody have any experience with it? i found a place on ebay that sell is it for 328 each. they only problem i really see with it is you cannot lay it down. ebay D-Tower also that cant be right... can it? direct 4 awg power?!

Anyone from europe have any experience with these batteries? Namely a brand called "hollywood" their SPV line seems decent for what i need it for. After attending my first bass off in VA last weekend the bug has bitten. Car will be paid off this summer so it's time to start thinking about uprades. I'm not looking to dominate competitions, but I do wanna get way louder. Right now I'm thinking 2-3k would be good for me. Being that I'm running a 5 channel now I know I'll be adding a second amp for the highs. At this point, will an extra battery in back be enough, or do I need to start looking at HO alts? Im looking into getting the 10" FI Bl sub fully loaded with a 1cuft (or maybe slightly bigger if i can) ported. Theres a site im sure a few of you guys have heard of that sells them refurbished. well anways. on this site they have the... OK.. I will have three amps. Fuse ratings of amps- 30, 40, 150... will my stock alt (125 amps), the big three, and a 18 farad cap be able to hold up? I got like an autocraft titanium battery too.. The cap is optional, since I know many of you believe caps don't work. I will be running 480 watts rms to 4 pairs of tweets 300 watts rms to speakers 1300 watts rms to the sub. I like to play my system all the way cranked for a long time... Will my electric be able to hold up to this, or am I going to need to buy a new alt?

Do any of you guys follow the same routine over and over again when installing an amp? In what order do you plug in the wires? Detail always helps. eg: 1. Tear vehicle apart. 2. Run all wires. 3. Disconnect negative, then positive at battery. 4. Connect ground wire to amp. 5. Connect ground wire to frame. 6. Connect remote wire to amp. 7. Connect remote wire to HU. 8. Connect RCA to amp. 9. Connect RCA to HU. 10. Connect power wire to amp. 11. Connect negative to battery. 12. Connect positive amp wire and positive to battery. 13. Insert fuse. What does clamping an amp mean? "my amp clamped at 2800watts at 2ohm 13.8 volts" does that mean he stuck it in one of these, and it put out better?
