have no clue how to even start but am woundering how to convert my 12v to a 16v system ? what is all requierd i don't have a budget as of yet but i am also wondering how much aproximatly it would cost.

So i recently bought a pioneer avic n4 and i hooked it all up and all the unit does is open up with a black screen and when car is the screen will go down...there is no illumination or nothing...although i do here the headunit making some noises....so i know its working...and i have tried a new 30 pin plug and that didnt help.

Sup everyone, had a few questions. So I just got the new Sundown SAX 100.4D. Its got some EQ buttons that I question because I dont know them. Under the High Pass Filter there is a button is either 12db or if pressed 24db. Also beside that one is a x1 or x10? The last is a knob that ranges from 50Hz -500Hz. Can anyone tell me the advantage of any of them? I played with those settings a little last night when I installed the amp.. I just need someone to give me a good starting point and a better understanding on how to set them. Examples would be greatly appreciated. If I was to add second batterie to my system, would I need a batterie issolator or will I be fine without one.

Looking at: SAZ1500D AQ1200D if i get a secod battery AQ2200D or SAE 1200D Now these are the ones if narrowed it down to for powering one 15" Fi BTL, now i do not know if my battery and alt can handle it, but when my car comes back from the shop il take a look and post it on here (its in the shop for oil change and new brakes). So I've been looking around for a while and am looking for a new head unit. I was looking for one with: - USB connection to charge and control I Pod through head unit. - Play's CD's well. - AM/FM radio with presets. - 4v RCA pre-outs My price limit is $300. And what I've been looking at are: - Pioneer DEH-P7200HD - Alpine CDA-9886 - Eclipse CD7200 mkII Have you used any of these head units, & which one do you think I should get? So I recently put a pioneer deck in my truck and noticed it has a feature called "Sound Retriever"...Supposedly it enhances compressed audio... Any idea how it does that? And if it's ok to turn on? (What does it do with uncompressed audio?)

so i have a nissan murano 09' with out the bose or the navi, and i want to install a head unit, but the problem is that the factory unit is connected to this screen that shows what track is playing and the temprature and what not, similar to this http://image.trucktrend.com/f/suv-of-the-year/2009-motor-trend-sport-utility-of-the-year-contender-nissan-murano/11099865/2009-nissan-murano-interior.jpg. but since the im still using the factory my speakers are playing base too and its really annoying, so is this just some way i can actually put in a head unit? or should i just get better speakers? let me know if yall need more details

hey i posted on another forum the question on wether or not it was a good amp for $250 i am buying two kinetik 2000's and i have 0ga wire all around my alt is stock @ 80 to 100a. i am only looking for about 2000 watts because i have 2 fissd's. i got responses back this amp is a current hog and i need to run it @ 17v to get it's full potential but i dont need the full potential, besides arent all amps that provide 4k worth of power current hogs? how do you guys feel about this amp for daily 2k on the electrical set up i have?

Searched a bunch and didnt find much relative info. Any info on the Gen 2 Alpine PDX Amps? I know the first gen had some heating and noise issues. What's the word on the second gen ones?

hey i don't understand why visions in my town when running the speaker wire to the sub used 16 gauge and twirled it around it self so when i unwound it there was probably 7-9 ft just going to the box does twisting the wire do anything or are they just trying to charge for more wire ? I'm redoing it with 12 gauge it's only for a 600rms alpine amp so 12 gauge i figure is plenty

This amp is cutting off on me at high and when I turn it down for a few seconds it come back on. Could this be from a short on one of the speakers lead. The amp is not hot at all and I notice that it just started doing this about a week ago. It has a status light that is blinking but the manual does not explain what blinking sequence this applies to code 11-thermal protection, code 12-short protection, code 13-repeated short & code 14-over volt protection.

Hi my step brother has two phoenix gold octane 10s and a phoenix gold 2 channel amp, and when he has both subs hooked up the amp goes into protect mode but when only one is wired to it it plays fine but when u hook two up again it goes back into protect mode... occasionally it will play with both wired up but only for about 1 min. then it goes back into protect mode until 1 is unwired. is it the subs or amp (oh yea one of the subs sounds like its blown but still plays just distorted)

I have 2 kicker l7 15's and my amp went into protect mode, i checked allthe wiring and also unplugged my subs and the amp was still in protect mode..Any other way to see if my subs are good or was unpluugging them good enough being that the amp stayed in protect mode?

Alright guys, I'm looking for a good In-Dash 7" TFT-LCD Touchscreen, Single Din. I'm looking for something that has a responsive touch screen, looks good, has Iphone 3gs support, Aux inputs are always nice, Navigation is not needed as for Multimedia options i would like the ability to play DivX files, DVD's, and DVD Music C.D.s . I would like the ability to run 2 way active, then in the future to run 3 way active, So it must have Subwoofer + Rear+ Front outputs. My budget is around 400 probably no more than 425, I'm open to all brands, so Pioneer, Alpine, Clairion, etc would be all acceptiable.

Ok guys, I'm befuddled, so I'm hoping someone here can enlighten me. (without flaming me too much) I am in the market for a simple headunit. i was woundering if you guys can give me some input will i tell a difference between using 12 gauge or 8 gauge for wireing my sub to my amp i have a 12" btl w/cooling daily d2ohm ans i got a saz 2000d going to wire it down to one ohm wow just realized i cant spell !!

I currently have 2 Kinetik HC2000's in my Tahoe, one under the hood, one under the back seat maybe 15" of power cable away from the amp. Have a db-starter-aternator 220A alternator (which for some reason i cant locate the one i bought from them.. maybe they stopped selling it? lol) It listed it makes its power at like 1200 RPM or something.. should have never bought it.. but thats what I have, I took the voltage meter outside today and looked at both battery's.. So ive been on google for almost two days now trying to find a dual alternator bracket setup but no luck. I have a 93 Chevy blazer ... 350 engine .. alternator on left.. Wanna keep my a/c .. Has anyone done this or have piks of a setup like this . I saw some diagrams of a 93 k2500 suburban with a oem dual alternator bracket but no part numbers. Will I see a big difference if i update from an aq3500d (old one 3500 watts) to a saz-4500? I am looking to get my 2 dd3512e louder. Would this get me there?

What is the importance of an amps efficancy? I know being effeciant in anything is good, but how does this affect amplifier performance when comparing apples to apples. If you have one amp that is say 90% effeciant at 4ohms and another amp that is 70% effeciant at 4ohms and are both rated to put out 500 watts at 4ohms at 12.8 volts; what does the effeciancy rating tell me, the consumer, about the amp I am using? Any input would be appreciated.
