I've been in the market for a new head unit with a screen. I can't get a double din so i would have to get a flip out. Multiple have people have told me to not get a flip out because of my subs. They said subs will greatly damage them. Any truth to this?

i just heard something weird from a tech at Hifonics. the reason i am not getting sound is because i have "stereo input RCAs" or something of that nature not "mono" ones... so now i have to buy a splitter that will connect to one of my old RCA cables that will be split in to two for the two inputs on the amp... if that makes any sense.... i find this weird because on my old RF amp it has matching colors for each of my old RCA cables which made it so i didnt need to buy a splitter... is this normal? i thought it would be straight forward red to white but i guessed wrong...or so i hope!

Is it possible for me to run my back door speakers directly off the head unit if I'm already using the rear RCAs for my front stage? I know some people don't like the rear speaker thing, but I have people in my truck all the time, plus I like it that way.

my pioneer flip out had all of the preouts go out. I am looking for a nice headunit in the 300 dollar range. video is not necessary, but would be nice. I have a couple choices. I really like the eclipse cd-5000. I will not buy another pioneer. my other choice is a jvc kd-avx11 with a clarion eq to bump the preouts to 7volts. what would you guys do? I need higher voltage preouts and something that will sound good and last. I am going more for spl.

I have a 110amp alternator and I hope to get a sundown 2500d amp. If I were to get http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/XS-Power-D6500-Battery.html would I get by? Im willing to get two of them if necessary. I have a 2011 Chevy Cruze and idk if there is any alternators on the market for this car. So would simply upgrading battery's allow me to run this amp fine?

  13. the 2500 has two ground and two power inputs that both need to be filled.. how do i do this? getting a second ground is obviously easy, but how can i run a second power wire? do i just get a distrib block? i have a grand cherokee with a stock 160 amp alt. im gonna run 0 ga instead of the 4 i have now.. how do you think i will do as far as power is concerned? electrical risk? i was thinking about just getting a new battery, is it possible to just hook it up as my start up battery or am i better off to run it to the back.. im trying to save money so i would rather not run it back.

Hooking up a second battery is something I've never done. Do I run a wire from the starter battery to the secondary battery. Or do i run a wire from my alternator to the secondary battery. What kind of fuse do I use? More than 1 on each end? Thanks

I am thinking about beefing up the charging system in my ride. I have a 03' 1.7L Civic, and my amp is capable of 2500Wrms. Big three is done in 0AWG. Eventually, I would like to have a HO Alternator and multiple battery setup. What should my first step be? I feel like I should save up and get the HO Alternator first, as additional batteries, or a deep cycle battery is only a temporary solution. I have been considering purchasing a Yellowtop to put in the trunk for now, and moving it up front later after getting the HO alternator and a dedicated deep cycle for the trunk. I don't really use my system too often, but when I do I like to play it full tilt. Would my whimpy stoc…

  23. I just installed my new HU, it's a Pioneer DEH-P690UB (not the best in the world, but it gets the job done). It has a usb connection to hook up your iPod and other usb mass storage devices. My question is what brand/make of HDD works? I've already tried a few and they are a no go. Reason is I think they are requiring more juice then the usb cable can provide. So if anyone can point me in the right direction and stop me from wasting more time and money trying out different usb hard drives I'd really appreciate it.

So i know hifonics isnt the best of companies, but ive heard mixed opinions about the 2008 brutus amp lineup as to whether or not it does rated power, I was wondering if anyone knows for sure what they output(specifically the 1608) or has any birth sheets/ done any bench testing. If not what do you think the bxi1608d does at 1 ohm and at 2 ohm, it claims 1600 at 1 and 1100 at 2...
