i have 2 kinetik 1800's and im going to put them in the back of my trunk in parallel. im getting rid of my stock battery. this is how i would wire it: i have 2 awg wire to connect the alternator to the battery. the wire will go from the alternator to battery A's positive terminal. Battery A's positive terminal will be connected to battery B's positive terminal. the stock terminal (from stock battery) will be connected to a wire that will be run to the trunk go to battery B's positive terminal. the stock terminal has 2 wires connected to it, one goes to the fuse box and the other goes behind the engine and i cant see where it goes to. my guess is that it goes to the starte…

My question is that I know line driver boost up RCA voltage but how does this help? I have a cheap pioneer HU and have to turn it out to volume 60/62 to get atleast 2 volts, And that is with like the loud and SLA option, my question is the line driver necessary in my appplication? And if i get some kind of bass processor with a line driver I well not have to get another line driver. Is there a way in me trying to make a line driver? Thanks for the help......

How would I go about creating more AC AMPS to go into the sub. I feel this would lower my box rise, true or false? I'm getting high AC Voltage readouts but I feel the AMPS are lacking thus creating a high ohm load. More DC amps going into the Sundown 3000? That's the only thing I can think of. What tools and methods do I need to calculate my imp rise. 1 15" AA SMD, Sundown saz 3000d. 4^3 @ 31hz, 30^2 port area (I know way to small, just testing an aeroport). Sub wired to .75 ohm Just got a clamp meter today and messing around I did 18.4 amps & 79.8 volts @ 37hz. I want to know what the impedance is doing but not exactly sure how to check for that Thanks

Hey, I am thinking of building my 1st sealed sub enclosure for two 8" Orphans from Sound Splinter. I am planning to put it in the trunk of my car (Focus zx3). The trunk measures ~ 41 wide and 30" deep. I believe a single orphan needs 0.186 cu ft (0.178cuft + .08cu ft displacement of the sub) so im assuming (correct me if im wrong) two orphans would need 2x as much, .372cu ft. What I know for certain is that the box needs to be at least 6" deep and be able to fit 2 amps on top (1 mono channel for the orphans and one amp for the speakers). And I would like to be able to easily remove the enclosure when i need a bit of extra space in my trunk, so would something lik…

2005 4Runner, looking at having 2 locations to set the box, one behind the passenger seat, one in the cargo area. I'll run 2 sets of speaker wires to facilitate. I'm 99% decided on a RLi8 or Orphan8 and here's what I've come up with. The photos are of a Costco baby wipes box for visual reference 13.5x8.5x11. If made of 3/4" MDF, I get an internal volume of 798^inches or .46^ft. If the RLi8 is .08displacement, that gives me a .38^ft box... right? I was always shit for math, but am I missing something? If aiming for .4^ft like everybody says you should for these particular drivers in a sealed encosure, I can just make it an inch longer or maybe just some polyfill? Cu…

I need an experts help, every time I try to make a box a very specific size, like certain dimensions. It automatically changes all the others I had. Example is, Say I want Side A to be 20", so I type 20. The program automatically adds numbers to side B & C. Then when I try to put in my own number in side "B" it changes A & C automatically. Even when I want A to stay the same, it changes it. What can I do?

What is sensitivity? The sensitivity of a driver is typically defined as the sound pressure level of the loudspeaker given 1 watt of power input, measured at a distance of 1 meter, measured on-axis with the loudspeaker and measured in infinite space with the loudspeaker mounted to an infinite baffle. While the later part is typically assumed but not stated, the former part is the reason you generally see “1w/1m” or “2.83V/1m” stated along with the sensitivity specification. But wait, is 1w/1m equal to 2.83V/1m? The answer is only for an 8ohm impedance driver. We know this because of ohms law, where Power = Voltage^2/Resistance. If the load is anything other than 8ohm the…

Sorry for such a stupid question, but the owners manual isn't really specific about 1-ohm load with 2 subs. I have two infinity 100.9's (10" SVC, selectable 2 or ~4 -ohm impedence, obviously set to 2-ohm). I want to run a 1-ohm load on a SAZ 1000D. My question is, how do I wire them? Do I wire one to each set of speaker terminals and yield a 1-ohm load or will this yield 2-ohm? This is shown in the 2nd diagram on page 7 of sundown manual. ... or ... Do I need to wire them in parallel as shown being done with only 1 sub in the top/1st diagram on page 7 of the sundown manual, a method of wiring that I've NEVER seen before on a mono amp? If this were an old-school HCC…

The Big 3 Are: 1. negative battery wire to ground - just replace the negative batt. terminal and wire and ground it to the factory location 2. engine block to ground - replace the ground wire from the engine block to the chasie with a bigger wire (maybe 4 guage) 3. alternator to batt - add a fused wire from the postive post on you alternator (the one comming from the battery) to the postive terminal on your battery. DO NOT exchange wires just add a extra one. make sure it fused the same size as your factory fuse. hope thats helps Note on #2- Some cars have a batt-engine block connection stead of chassis to engine block... -------------------------------------------------…

  16. Hello to anyone that can help me. I have the above car and I'd like to upgrade to the Big 3 to help my power. I have searched all over the internet to find the answer for this but no avail. The problem lies in the fact that the alternator is quiet hidden on the underside of the engine and the battery is under the back seat. Can anyone help me with the easiest way to do the Big 3 on this Cadi? Thanks for any help!

Well, as you can see by the title, I'm experiencing some significant voltage drop at my amp. It's an SAZ-1000d and my alternator is a 240a Iraggi. I have just one battery under the hood. It was sitting idle at about 13.3 at the battery and amp. Full tilt on music, it stays at 13.3 at the battery, maybe dropping .1v, but at the amp, it can drop down into the 11.5 range. The wiring for the amp is probably too small, it's a 4 gauge wiring kit I got pretty cheap on sonicelectronix.com, so I'm guessing that is probably my problem. The amp says it uses 4awg, but the 4awg I have might be on the small side, I'm not sure. What do you think?

But anyway i've rewired, and adjusted the amp many times and i'm clueless. any ideas? please help me out.

Hello, I would need some help on wiring two amps. I have Sundown 50.4 for fronts and backs, and will order Sundown 125.2 for 2 8'' subs in the back. I need wiring info on which things to buy to wire those two amps. I was looking at knukoncepts and wasn't sure which items to grab to have complete parts. This kit seems good for the 50.4 and I should have enough power wire to run it to the amps 4 Gauge Amplifier Installation Kit and then I got info that I should run distribution block to split the power wire between the two amps ? If so which distribution wire would be a good one ? I don't think I would need another amp kit but just additional rca's, another ground wire, c…

So i was trying to find some good information about how to properly install components. I was reading through build logs (including Shizzzon's 25 page one) and every time it came to their set-ups, it seemed as if they gave only 1/2 the information. I have a Boston Acoustic Pro 60se set i would like to use as my front stage. I also have damplifier pro from Second Skin. My question is rather elementary and i apologize for that... but what's the best way to put them in? I would like to avoid the speaker pod approach. I've heard so many different things. Should i make a 3/4" MDF ring and mount the speakers to those? I just honestly have no clue here. And tweeters should be mo…

They sound great except at high volumes they do not have a crossover in them at all, which I think is kind of dumb on the company's part, these are good sounding ported house speakers that bump pretty good, they can get the walls rattling and there from the 90's. I would like it if anyone had any ideas to what frequency crossover I should get, as in what frequency's should i aim for, for these speakers? they can hit down to 30hz very nicely, and you can even slightly hear …
