I have a Pioneer RX-560 home reciever, and speakers. Has MTX Thunder 3000 subs in it, thats it. right side is gone on the unit, only the left works. I was playing tones and it pops when I start stop the tones and a high pitch ringin out of the mids. I just use this thing to play music out of my computer, and I'm using 3.5mm to rca ran under my baseboard to the reciever and it is hooked into the aux. I'll have a video..

Hey guys, I'm trying to make my first h/t setup. I really need two seperate setups, one to please the wife, and a second for me. I've been into car audio for years, but until recently I was only home for a few hours to sleep, so the car was more important than the house. Okay, I have a question. I really don't know how to word this, but I think you guys will understand. Okay, so I saw the thread a couple weeks ago (I think it was JimJ) and he was talking about these really big speakers his friend ordered. There are pictures of it in a garage. He then said it gets painfullly loud with only 7watts....That's whats confusing me. There is something I'm obviously missing here. How does it get so loud with only 7watts? Thanks

I don't know if there is anything that can be done, but just thought I'd ask. I have two old infinity cabs that are sealed and some random Phillips speakers from a mini Hi-Fi system sitting on top, all power by a Pioneer receiver, nothing special, just gets the job done for my bedroom. I noticed the other day when playing some rap with higher bass (say 50-60hz) that the lows are MUCH louder when I'm standing in the doorway to my room... WTF? Its like my room is an enclosure and the door is the port or something? Any way, is there something that can be done to make it louder inside my room instead of on the way out of my room? Ok, I need some help planning out a sound system for my small den. The room is exactly 10

School is starting and I am looking to add a Sub to my BIB's. For amp duty I'm probably going with a Dayton plate amp (180 @ 8ohm and 240 @ 4ohm) Sub duty is another question... I have 2 options for the sub box. Option 1 - Small sealed under the corner table. I would guesstimate ~1.5 cubes net Option 2 - Shallow wide ported enclosure. Can pull out the couch little bit and create quite a bit of space behind it because of the way the wall and couch is designed. Don't have any good measurements but I think 4 cubes would not be a problem, and box can be as wide as a couch. I'm really leaning toward option 1 at the moment. i scraped the spherical speaker idea and that means i need a large format tweeter what i have now is a pair of ca18rnx's and a pair of cheap-arse tweeters. i'm looking to upgrade the tweeters and i need some advice since i don't know what to choose. budget : $100 for the pair. i'm just looking for something laid back and not harsh. my center channel I used 4 of the monster cubes in series/parallel, so it's the same impedance, same power going to them as the other 6 channels. It sits right in between the L and R. All three are at the edge of the entertainment stand, should be minimal loading if any at all. Why did Audyessey set the center only -1.5dB from the L and R rather then -3dB?

Hey Guys, I have two 10" Arsenals(Gen. previous to the current model) in my truck at the moment and will actually be down sizing things in the near future with a pair of 8" Assasins. I just bought a home and was thinking that I might be able to use the Arsenals in the Home theater. The room is approx. 12' X 20'. I do have a Dayton 1000W sub amp I bought from Parts express to use. Ok so so I just got my own house, move in tomarrow, but I need a killer HT. I have a Kenwood reciever, 2 mtx cabinets, maybe some other cabinets, and my 10" ssd that I just bought back yesterday. What I need to know is how can I porew the sub? What amp or power supply should I buy for it? I was thinking about building a Tline box for the sub. Will be for movies and PS3, but also lots and lots of music. I want a Nice clear sq setup, not so "bassy", but enough bass to hear and tell that it is there. Okay, well, with my new house I want to rip out all the existing old coax and install new throughout. Question is, what is the best cable to go with for quality? I will be updating to HD in a year or two, so I want the best I can get.

I'm working on my home theater setup. I'm putting A 110" screen with an epson 8100 projector. I want to build a big sub setup. I'm framing a wall out 2' to hide an old fireplace. I'll have 30" on either side of the screen to work with. One side will have a cabinet with my component stack in it. The other will have the sub. So I'll have aprox. 24" deep, 30" wide, and 95" tall. I have a H/K amp that I picked up off the sidewalk last year, and its been bangin pretty good for awhile, but then it blew a fuse out of no where. Replaced the fuse and it blew again, so something is busted. Its a Harman/Kardon PM645 Vxi, 60Wx2. Looks to be fairly modern, since it has CD inputs, but its got a MM/MC phono input, so it can't be too new. I like this amp because of its simplicity, only knobs on the front, no LCDs or anything, so I was wondering if anyone knew a good place to have it repaired. Basically being at college sucks because i cant use my car and enjoy my car audio needs, so i am looking to get into some home audio. I want something i can build myself. I am interested in just a small 2.1 bookshelf system for my living room. I don't really want a whole 5.1 setup and no one else seems to care about it. The major reason for the 2.1 is mostly for movies/TV/sports/games....maybe 5% music. When I looked around, I liked the new Harmon Kardon HK3490 or whatever that does 120x2@8 ohms. Has anyone used non-stick backed real wood veneer? Im about to attempt using it for the first time, just wondering if you have any tips about working with it that would be helpful going in. Better to use a 1/4" flush-cut or a 1/2" etc? Brand of glue? also..when doing the rounded edges..should i glue the veneer to the face, let it dry. then, wrap the veneer around the edges..or should i just glue and wrap the the whole thing right away..the pic shows a 3/4" round on a previous pair to give you an idea, the one's im attempting have a 1" roundover.
