Has anyone used non-stick backed real wood veneer? Im about to attempt using it for the first time, just wondering if you have any tips about working with it that would be helpful going in. Better to use a 1/4" flush-cut or a 1/2" etc? Brand of glue? also..when doing the rounded edges..should i glue the veneer to the face, let it dry. then, wrap the veneer around the edges..or should i just glue and wrap the the whole thing right away..the pic shows a 3/4" round on a previous pair to give you an idea, the one's im attempting have a 1" roundover.

  3. Hey Guys, I have two 10" Arsenals(Gen. previous to the current model) in my truck at the moment and will actually be down sizing things in the near future with a pair of 8" Assasins. I just bought a home and was thinking that I might be able to use the Arsenals in the Home theater. The room is approx. 12' X 20'. I do have a Dayton 1000W sub amp I bought from Parts express to use. Would size box would I use and how low can I tune the box. Help would be appreciated. Thanks!

This has been in the works for some time. I know that Chad and his crew are extremely excited about this new move. This will definetly shake things up in the Home Audio realm.More for less is a real understatment. Take some time and read through all the website has to offer. I'm sure you'll be impressed. Would love to hear thoughts about Chad's new company. http://www.epiksubwoofers.com/

I've got an aa avalanche 18 d2 that was reconed by PSI. A behringer ep2500, behringer feedback destroyer pro, and Sampson s convert. I finalized my build plan. The box will be 24" deep, 22" tall, and 96" wide. Sub will have a double baffle and be mounted in the center front of the box. With dual slot ports. One on each side. It will be under my screen firing at the audience. It'll be 21.5 cu ft net tuned to 15 hz. With 92 sq in of port area. I'll post up a sketch of my floor plan and sketchup pics of the box and bracing.

I got a set of JBL Stage floorstanding speakers for $160 from Best Buy on clearance, normal price was $400 for the pair. They sound pretty good, especially for the price, definitely not as good as my B&Ws, but good none the less. They are going in our basement for now and may be bought off of me by my brother once he starts working for the basis of a decent, cheap stereo.

A little over a year ago a older good audio friend picked up some B&C 12CXB's off eBay. He kept emailing me saying that he really liked these coaxials, and that I'd better jump on a pair before they were gone. I kinda held out for awhile, because folks tend to change their point of view over a period of time with audio gear. He never did, and kept razzing me to get a pair. He finally worked a deal with the seller for a I can't pass it up kind of deal..... We both have listened to the B&C 12CXT, and liked that coaxial, but both prefer the bit more lively sound of the compression tweeter used with the 12CXB. Older ears I suppose. I mounted and experimented with port…

So i just got my behringer ep2500 today and hooked it up a couple minutes ago to my xxx. I bought some rca to 1/4" converters and turned the reciever on to hear the beast. BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ That's the only noise I can get, when I connect my ipod the sub plays fine, but when I connect the amp to the sub output of this older sony reciever (1999 if i had to guess ) I tried using my dad's bash300 amp and got the exact same noise from the reciever. Just wondering if anyone has any clue as to what I'm doing wrong or what is causing this problem. thanks

Just curious to see what you guys think of using a bandpass box for a subwoofer outside of car audio. After messing around with WinISD, i figured out a design for a 6th order bandpass that is almost flat from 30 to 75 Hz, which would be prefect for music use, and is significantly more efficient than a ported box with similar frequency response (at least for my woofer). Are there any downsides to using a 6th order bandpass enclosure, like reduced sound quality or anything like that? I don't know of anyone who has tried this, so any opinions would be appreciated and just let me know if knowing the box or woofer specs would help

Just finished these for my cousin. They are Murphyblaster Usher 2-ways on top and Tang Band 8" on the bottom. http://murphyblaster.com/content.php?f=usher2way.html Cabinets are built similar to my NCMS Rhythms. 2.25" fronts, 1.5" on other sides, internally braced. Drivers flush mounted. The top half of the inside of the cabinet is coated with a mix of 1/2 premix dry wall compound and 1/2 tacky glue. Cabinets are more than "dead". Outside is covered in black ash laminate. The front baffle is spaced 1/8" to allow painting with a good end for the laminate. Also looks cool if you know much about cabinets, because you can tell how thick the fronts are. . . Here is the …

  18. Im on a limited budget and limited on space. I'm looking for a decent HT set up to match with my plasma TV. I dont need anything extravagant, but I would like to have something that sounds good. Ive been on crutchfield, newegg, partstexpress and bestbuy and cant seem to find anything that is worth even the high prices they want for them. What Im looking for... 5.1 surround system with receiver to power them. I do have neighbors in the appartment next and above me so I have no need for something that can blast ou…

About 5 months ago, the plate amp built into my Klipsch KSW-10 sub died. A replacement amp was $90, but I wasn't really excited about buying that same (55 Watt) amp again. After dragging my feet and trying to come up with alternative solutions and/or uses for the sub, a brilliant plan hatched where I wouldn't have to spend money. So, here's how I got my sub working again.... ThermalTake Silent PurePower 480W ATX Power Supply (18Amps @ 12Volts) - harvested from an old computer and was sitting in a box in my basement. Rockford Fosgate 200a4 Car Audio Amp (almost old school - circa 1999) - sitting in my garage unused. KSW-10 Sub - with blown plate amp First, I removed my …

I am interested in just a small 2.1 bookshelf system for my living room. I don't really want a whole 5.1 setup and no one else seems to care about it. The major reason for the 2.1 is mostly for movies/TV/sports/games....maybe 5% music. When I looked around, I liked the new Harmon Kardon HK3490 or whatever that does 120x2@8 ohms. I am going to pair these bookshelves with a 18" Mach Audio with a 500w plate amp. So I want something that would cross with it well. I have been leaning toward the Klipsch Reference RB-81 or something similar although the RB-61s are more in my price range. My budget is around $5-600 for the speakers. I already have stands, which are kind of tall s…

Well, I need more bass and was wondering if anyone has tried the "home wrecker" box... Not sure what sub I will be using, probably a cheaper on though, 15" most likely... something like kicker, alpine, Volfenhag, R.F. etc.... I figure no need getting anything too nice because most plate amps i see are only a couple hundred watts so... I am using some Aroura "Bass Shakers" and i frikkin love them but of course there is no real bass from them and my sub that came with the surround sound system just lacks... Any suggestions?, hopefuly "on the cheap"

Hi guys, let me start by saying this is my first venture into home subwoofers. I have a very old('97) Orion 2NT 15". It has been sitting in a cabinet in the garage so long I forgot it was in there until recently. I want to try it out in the theater room just to see what it would sound like. The spec sheet recommends 2.7 cu.ft. for a ported box. Should I build the same size box for home use? I have a 500watt plate amp that I will be using.
