Do the Havocs (namely 18"s) prefer to be ported or sealed. Or are they at home in either enclosure?

Here are the stats Powered by a Sundown SAZ-1500d Ported: 2.0 cu ft tuned to 33 hz metered at 140.4db, TL in the kicks. Sealed: .85 cu ft, no stuffing - haven't had a chance to mesure yet. Started out with the ported box. Here is my initial review http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...mp;#entry408101 The Havoc does it all! Lots of output, razor sharp SQ, looks good, doesn't cost 4 figures, and is very reliable. But I've always felt that the 2 cu ft ported box was a little big and put a little too much emphasis on the low end. The sub will get low, the question you should ask is how much do I need from 65hz+. Now, going with a sealed box. I like it much better …

How do Havocs do sealed? I know they have plenty of displacement but I am ignorant when it comes to specs and was just wondering how they perform sealed, were they designed with sealed in mind, or ported. Or maybe its both like the Q. The woofers look great, btw. I was wondering if it would be worth trying 3 12's sealed in my rear deck off a sundown 3000d. or Would I be better off with 2 ported on the 3000d. I have a ava in my truck in 4 cubes or so (can't remember) tuned to 28hz, and it gets stupid low and loud, but the top end is really lacking, I don't wanna have this problem in my baby (95 Impala SS)....

I am currently running a single Dayton Titanic 15" for my HT's low end. I would like to get some input on which line would work best. I would love to sport some AA in the house. The 15" is currently in a 3cf sealed enclosure. After sub, bracing, and amp displacement, I would estimate internal airspace at 2.5cf. I want to increase efficiency as well as increase displacement w/o sacrificing the lower frequencies. I know a new box is in order. I have quite a bit of room to work with in the living room. I was thinking 4 15" drivers sealed. But I may be dreaming. The current sub integrates very well with the front L/R/C channels I have. I guess I just want a bit more output. C…

Myself and Ryan have sent numerous emails to the fi email and have not received anything back. I'm in need of recones and need a way to be able to get product (hopefully in a timely manner). If anyone at AA/Fi reads this James Coil Audio Innovations 4210 N. So I hear that the Polly's are some awesome drivers. So I was thinking about using them with a nice set of tweeters with an x-over. Questions is, how do you run yours passive ? What would be a good tweater to use and a good x-over. Are they a good SQ driver ? I am building a SQ setup.
