Hey guys. New to the SSA forum. I've been doing a lot of research lately on getting a new sub. So far I have just bought the wire and cap. I will be buying a Fosgate T10001BD soon, so I'll have about 1200+ to 1600 watts to work with. I'm trying to choose a sub to put on my amp. I have a box built... 3.6 after all displacement, tuned to 29~31 (probably 30 by my math). I don't have the extra time or money to buy another box, and mdf is over an hour's drive away. I listen to rap. Jeezy, T.I., Three 6, 8ball & MJG, etc etc. I'm not worried about rock. I want a sub that can take 1400 watts daily easily and will hit good 28 to 40. By my research, the AA Havoc seems to sui…

  2. Nick, Scott, and Shawn - sent out an email about this the other day - any help at all would be greatly appreciated!!! Also to anyone else that might have some ideas for a sick wall setup behind the 2nd row seats in my trailblazer let me know. Info on the truck: its a 2004 EXT, so its a little longer than the normal blazer Rough measurements are 42in wide, 39 in deep, and about37in high - i might be able to squeez out another inch or 2 for the width and height. Looking for something different....goal is the 149.9 bass race class thanks in advance

As the title states I am contemplating designing a down firing box for one 12" Atlas. I have heard this helps increase SPL as well as makes for a stealth install. (no need for a grill) Here is a link to the discussion I had over @ DIY http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/showth...ight=downfiring I have also talked with Mr. Marv @ http://community-2.webtv.net/MarvsPlace/MarvsPlace/ Marv has suggested that I look into the following - " There are a couple of things to note however-all subs are not created equal so you definitely want to check with the manufacturer to make sure your sub will not exhibit excessive sag when mounted upside down (from what I understand heavy cone/…

  4. I didnt realize i had the gains up so high on this 1600 watt amp i got for the sub. LOL I know I need a recone kit cuz now no bass will play... not sure if i destroyed everything though? I know the cone is probably fried going to need new one but im going to have to call the speaker builder and ask if i need a complete rebuild kit.... but next time im going sealed wandering though can the avalanche handle 1000 watts as a daily driver? cuz i wanna know about how much wattage to give it and how should it be tuned? do i need an eq or some type of epicenter think its called where you can adjust what note frequencys your sub hits... (like 18,000-22,000 hrtz for low bass?) th…

Hey i have heard of people having 6.5" components from AA, and etc... im looking for a pair that get loud and good. Currently running a set of mb quart premiums and one of the 6.5 drivers is messed up not sure whats wrong with it so i am looking for a new pair. I was thinking of getting some CDT's but i was going to see if anyone knew if AA had 6.5 drivers. I emailed nick with no response so i am sure hes busy. Anyone know if they make them still and if so how much... dont need xovers or anything just the midbass drivers.

Well, I just finished the build for my 15" Havoc. It's 2.6 cubes sealed. I am giving it 1.2kw RMS @ 1 ohm via Cadence ZRS7000D. The car is a 2008 Dodge Charger R/T. I listen to a good mix of rap, rock, and some dnb and other electronica. The sealed box is not providing enough low end for me, so I'm going to build a ported set-up for it. Does anyone have recommendations on what volume and what to tune the port to for my listening tastes? I am capable of building a slot-port box myself. Also, volume is not really an issue, but I'd like to keep it at or under 5 cubes. Thanks.

I've searched the net but haven't come up with a number. The Xmax has been stated numerous times, just not the Xmech. I have two Avalanche 18's in an IB in my 3000 ft^3 HT and love 'em. Thanks... btw, great forum!

I just hooked up my new havoc 18 to a behringer 2500. The sub is wired in series for a 4 ohm load. This is my first issue. The sub comes up at about 6 ohms when wired. this is not the 4 ohms that it should be. I realize it is never exact but 2 ohms off seems strange. The sub is wired according to this.. http://www.the12volt.com/12voltimages/1_2ohm_dvc_4ohm.gif I have double and triple checked it. Now here is my big issue. When powering the sub, at what i would call moderate levels, there is a terrible banging noise that comes on certain notes. I'm afraid that this is the sub bottoming out. However, I dont see how this could be with the kind of music that it is doing…

I am a dealer in Fort Smith Ar and im curious if anyone knows if ascendent has gone out of bussniness or just a shady bussiness. I have been tring to get my 6 subs back for 4 months now due to leads being to short on the assassin subs. At first they said they would not fix them, then said they would due to a manufacturing defect after further reveiw, but now they are not answering there phones, emails or returning calls from voicemails. If any one is having the same issues please post. This may put a spark under there butt. I've made this same post on Ascendants Facebook page to hopfully get a response and low and behold the post was deleted.....

Ive seen a few people recommend 1.5-2cu for a sealed Havoc 12. The recommended on the AA site says .6-1.2, and to get QTC of 7 would be .45. Why are larger sizes recomended? I have a .75cu box that Ive been using with an RE SR already, and wondering if I should use it, or get a different one. After displacement that would be under .6, less then AA recomended. Or do they recomend the size factoring in displacement already? When figuring QTC and F3, do you factor in sub displacement first? Not going to have much power, 400-600w at most.

Hey fellas.. can someone help me with dimensions for putting together a sealed enclosure for a 15" Avalanche into a 2003 mustang? KU40 PM'd me dimensions on carstereo but that forums down.. again and i cant access my inbox =/ Im looking to put together a sealed enclosure at first. I'd like to try 2 different dimensions... 1) that could slide in through the back seat... therefore the max dimensions would be. 36"w x 27" d x 11" h .. upfiring and id like to try 2.2cubes after displacement 2) Id like to try to put together a 2 piece sealed box.. with a max height of 14.5" ... so this one would be like putting the "bottom half" of the box in, and then putting the top half in a…

Would 2 12" Mayhem's be ok in 2.742 cubes and on a Sound Stream xxx-6500d at 1 ohms?? I was worried about the box being to big I am only about a 1/4 to 1/2 up on gain right now on two Mass Destruction Napalm's and they sound good but are really made for a smaller box..
