Ive been all over the forum trying to figure out which sub would work best for me and I still havent come to a conclusion. Most recently, Im thinkin about either a 12" Chaos or 12" Havoc. I have a 2.5 cubic ft box ported and Im planning on buying an audiopipe ap10001d or ap15001d depending on which sub I choose. I drive an infiniti sedan so the box will be in the trunk. I am currently running on Fi X 12 at 2ohms with 250 watts from a fosgate prime and it sounds good for a $250 setup but I want an increase in SPL without having to build a new box. Is the Havoc worth the extra money in my situation or will the Chaos being a satisfying upgrade from the Fi X? I know it can be…

I sent a email and wrote to a person from aa about a re cone kit about 2 weeks ago and have not got a response back...you have a great product but you guys made the subs wrong, on 2 of mine I have 4 aa 8's and 2 of them have uncentered voice coils so i wanted to re cone to fix this prob with out spending the money to send them in, if some one could help me that would be great. But for now I am a slight un happy customer. I under stand that fi and aa r busy but its been about 2 weeks... but again if I can get a re-pile back it would be great Thanks, Craig Jones

Hi guys I just recently got an 18" AA Chaos and just put it in my car and i must say im extremely happy. I am surprised at the SQ this subwoofer has! The transitions between bass lines are so smooth, it handles highs great. And im still breaking it in! Compared to my older subs (Soundstream T415, RF HX2's) i must say this stuff is the best ive ever heard. Ive got it on a Mac Audio Fearless 1000 (~900wrms), in a 7cuft box tuned to 34hz. Incl. 45's and lotsa bracing. All inside a small Honda Civic Hatch. Here's some pics: Im pretty newbie at building boxes so dont shoot me if it doesnt look great! I designed it with exposports calculator. thank you ASCENDANT AUDIO f…

I have an avalanche 18 sitting in my basement unused for the last 8 years. I am going to try to install in my 2008 Buick lucerne of an orion 800@2. I know I can't go ported, but what size sealed would work. I think I can get around 5-6 cubic feet sealed and use poly fill to make up for the lack of size. I cannot find box sizes on any website so I am hoping I could get some help here. Would 5 to 6 cubic feet be enough or should I just find two fifteens instead?

hey im just curious about news on the chaos and mayhem series as well as if the avalanche will make a return? i may have missed it, or didnt search properly, but is there any info on them release dates performance etc? being aa i would imagine everything is being made to sound good first and then up the loudness? any of them going to be similar to the o5 xxx or have xbl^2? split gap? sorry for all the questions but im jumping up to an 18 soon and cant decide whether i want two smaller 18s (mjs) or one mean one, Q, mayhem, DR etc. sealed application probably with a possible porting later on. saz 1500d would be for power.. oh and i have a mag 12 right now the last gen so so…

So I've got this build log going on. You can check it out HERE. It involves, dare I say, some old school Ascendant Audio Atlas subs. Taking it a step farther, I installed them IB style. Lastly, this is a, get as much bass as I can with 500 watts without losing any trunk space because I'm a sensible family man with financial limits, build. If you're interested check it out and let me know what you think. Here is a couple of teasers. Thanks for looking.

I'm thinking about 2 12" Havocs and was wondering a few things. 1. What would sound louder, sealed or ported? 2. What would have better sound quality, sealed or ported? 3. What would hit lower, sealed or ported? I'm thinking about ported to 5cuft tuned to 30.5Hz. If sealed I'm thinking about 2.4cuft. If you think they would sound better in a different box size, please inform me. Thank you

As the title states I am contemplating designing a down firing box for one 12" Atlas. I have heard this helps increase SPL as well as makes for a stealth install. (no need for a grill) Here is a link to the discussion I had over @ DIY http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/showth...ight=downfiring I have also talked with Mr. Marv @ http://community-2.webtv.net/MarvsPlace/MarvsPlace/ Marv has suggested that I look into the following - " There are a couple of things to note however-all subs are not created equal so you definitely want to check with the manufacturer to make sure your sub will not exhibit excessive sag when mounted upside down (from what I understand heavy cone/…

I know the cone is probably fried going to need new one but im going to have to call the speaker builder and ask if i need a complete rebuild kit.... but next time im going sealed wandering though can the avalanche handle 1000 watts as a daily driver? cuz i wanna know about how much wattage to give it and how should it be tuned? do i need an eq or some type of epicenter think its called where you can adjust what note frequencys your sub hits... (like 18,000-22,000 hrtz for low bass?) th…
