Going in a 2008 Scion tC. Has taken about a week because I was only able to do about 15-30 minutes a day due to two jobs and no sleep. Now it has some minor fills drying which I will sand later, then cut holes for teh subs and one for a terminaln and finally begin the painting process.

Looking for some ideas on building a box for my new mayhem 18 that should be here sometime this week. It is going in a 2002 pontiac grand prix 4 door. I can put it in the trunk or I can do a wall if thats whats needed. Just not sure on size and tuning for it.

Keep any negative comments out please, unless they are constructive negative comments that might help me improve in future projects. I'd really appreciate that, thanks guys. Its a variation of a transmission line enclosure, designed to have alot better low end response than the big huge, low tuned ported box I had before. Don't bother trying to model it as a ported enclosure, because that is not what it is, and asking for Term Lab dash numbers is also pointless since this is a musical (TO THE EAR) box, and not designed to play loud on a PRESSURE sensor on the dashboard. I'll post response graphs once the other half is built and everything is installed. This is one half of…

  4. I finally have a day off of work and would like to build my box tomorrow for 1 15" Ascendant Audio Havoc powered by a Sundown SAZ~1500D. I want to do sub up and port back preferrably port on the passenger side to increase my own listening area. Port will be a slot, vent type and I will do a double baffle for bracing along with one 2x2 in the center of enclosure for internal bracing. My maximum external dimensions are 38" wide, 12" high, and 22" deep. Thanks to any replies in advance. My buddy had mentioned that Mr. Shizzzon was of great help with his current enclosure and that thing just rocks. I would love to tune at 32 hz but want to make sure I still have great out…

  5. So here is what I came up with. 40"L x 18"W x 16"H using 3/4" MDF. Gross internal cf is 5.33cf. I figured around .18cf displacement /driver (estimated) and will be left with 4.97cf I bought 2 4" Precision Ports. There calculator on thier site recommends a Straigh Length of 9.48" and Flare length of 10.48" to achieve a tune of 32Hz in a 5.33cf box. I can handle that length with what was provided in the kit from Precision Ports. Here is where I get messed up. Being left with 4.97cf before taking out port displacement, I can't seem to calculate the volume in cf that these ports will take up. I have tried several different calculators and will continue to try and figure thi…

I've got a pair of 15" Avalanche subs. I want to build a box, but I don't know what size it needs to be. I'm undecided on whether I'll be using them in my home or my car. My car needs a little work, that's why I'm undecided. Anyways to the good stuff. I want to go ported for either application. For the car I'm guessing a tuning frequency of 32 to 35Hz. For the house I'm thinking 28Hz. I'm open to suggestions. For power I've got two TMA 1000.1 in the car. Oh, by the way the ride is an 86 Mustang GT hatchback, the rear seat isn't used so it's folded down flat. The subs would be wired to 1 ohm each, one sub per amp. In the house I've got a Behringer EP2500. The subs would be…

I know with only 5k I should have a bigger box, but this is as big as I can go. Let me know what you think. Goal is to get low (play mostly Decaf and other slowed/modded music) and move some air. Thanks.

I'm really don't know how to go about planning a subwoofer box from scratch. I used to start with the calculator for plans on subwoofertools.com, but that website just went poof. Now I don't know what to do... My dimensions are 17 high x 17 deep x 37 wide... tuning needs to be 33htz... I will add a second baffle and bracing, but we'll just used those dimensions for simplicity... If there is anyone out there than can help me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Well, I just finished the build for my 15" Havoc. It's 2.6 cubes sealed. I am giving it 1.2kw RMS @ 1 ohm via Cadence ZRS7000D. The car is a 2008 Dodge Charger R/T. I listen to a good mix of rap, rock, and some dnb and other electronica. The sealed box is not providing enough low end for me, so I'm going to build a ported set-up for it. Does anyone have recommendations on what volume and what to tune the port to for my listening tastes? I am capable of building a slot-port box myself. Also, volume is not really an issue, but I'd like to keep it at or under 5 cubes. Thanks.

Just picked up an original 12" Assassin, single 4 ohm, ones with stamped steel basket. I'm looking for the best SQ I can get with ported enclosure, as i listen to all genres of music. I was thinking 2.0cf @ 32hz? Going with a slot port so how many sq inches of port? Going in the trunk of my grand prix btw.

Hello, I'm new to the forum and would like some help with a box for an 8" assassin. I was wondering if someone would be interested in designing a slot ported box for me that would fit in the following dimensions: 17" wide by 14" front to back. I am not too concerned with height, just dont want to go over 12" if possible. The box is going in a 2007 Frontier Kingcab, behind my driver seat. I think the specs on the AA site say .5@35, but have read threads where people are saying .6@40. I mainly listen to rock/alternative music if that helps with the tuning. I am getting ready to order a new one next week from the TeamSSaudio website, and would like to build the box before it…

I'm thinking about either getting an AA Havoc 15" or a Fi Q 15" with all the options. The box that I'm planning on getting is a 4 cubic foot vented box with a port tune of 32 hertz. Would this be a good box for either of the two subs??? Heres the site of the box too. http://cgi.ebay.com/15-CUSTOM-VENTED-MDF-S...oQQcmdZViewItem

Just ordered my set of Assassin 12's today (I cant wait!!!) and Im wondering what to do a/b the box. I have 4cubes total before disp of anything to play with. They will be behind my bench seat in my 84 GMC single cab, so I planning on the subs on the passenger side, with a slot port out of the drivers side. What tuning/port area should I use for these? I know my old 8" assassins loved higher tuning (45htz) are these new line subs different? Suggestions/opinions please!

Ascendant Audio Carbon Fiber Mids Hey there. I figured I would make this thread to clear some info up, since these questions seem to come up a lot about these. I received mine in the mail today and started to take pictures and measure right away. If you want to know anything else that I don't state about them, let me know and I will do my best to answer them. 1.) What size are they? The outer diameter of the whole driver is JUST under 7", but that may be my tape measure. The mounting ring is 1/2" wide, which leaves 6" for cone+surround. Surround is another ~1/2" so the cone is ~5" from the inside of the surround to the other side. 2.) What's the mounting depth? …
