Hello Scott I have been trying to get a hold of you for some time regarding a very large build/order. I understand you're a very busy man, but I also know spam filtering and things like that could have accidentally deleted the emails which I have sent you. If you have it, if you could get back to me whenever you have some free time that would be great. If you need me to send it again let me know. I appreciate the time. Thanks! Shane Munda Team Sundown

okay guys, i am fairly new to the whole subwoofer thing and i need a bit of help getting myself started. First off, i need to know the differences between duals (1) (2) (4). My friend is helping me with most of this, and he tells me that i need subwoofers that come in a dual 4 ohm coil so he can wire them up to 1 ohm. I am planning on getting 2 12" Subwoofers, either Soundsplinters rl-p in a dual 4 ohm (if i knew what that meant) or the Fi Q's, but i'm having a hard time figuring out if they can be wired up to 1 ohm. Whether i get the rl-p's or q's they will be both placed in the same exact sealed enclosure, and will be wired to an elemental designs amp that is running 12…

I will have ~5.4 cubes and 87" of port. What will get louder/perform better, 12s or 15s? BTW they will be BTLs with ~3kw each. I know it would be starving for the 15s, but not sure if the cone area would conteract that.

I noticed alot of people are having FI recone their other brand name subs, I am wondering if this could be done to one of mine I have sitting around. I have a Soundstream T2 Tarantula 10" DVC 1 ohm 900 watts rms. It does have 3" coils, can FI recone this? If so, how would this change the sub from its original configuration, or how would it change the T/S specs of the sub if at all? I have a 10" BL right now, with only the daily and universal options, could FI recone the T2 so it could run with the BL in the same enclosure? I am posting here as it has been stated that FI is QUITE busy, so if anyone can answer this question or give an opinion I would appreciate it Here is …

Hey Scott, I need a question answered that just seems to never go away... I found this, its a quote from Dan Wiggins about power handling when running 1 coil on a DVC sub "Lastly, power handling isn't compromised by a factor of 2; it's usually decreased 10-25%. The reason is that rarely are you current-limited by the gauge of the wire, and voice coils are wound concentrically so you still have the entire thermal mass working for you. Just that now all the power is dissipated in a single voice coil (typically two of four layers) so you may end up with an inert, non-conducting thermal mass insulating one side of the voice coil. This does not halve power handling, b…

Here is a photography project I did titled "Speakers of Nature." The idea was that the speakers I use in my car have been applied to nature to contrast the uncanny replication of sound that speakers can make to that of something so natural sounding that you would never have known it to be replicated in the first place. Anyways, that was the idea and from there I used everyday tools that just about every car audio enthusiast has to create this project. I will post the pictures in order from cover to cover. Thanks for looking! Ps. Sorry for the quality of the images but I didn't want anyone copying my work. But feel free to use my ideas, just don't claim it as …

Like the title says, I was wondering if there are pumping losses or air noise exiting from the cooling channels or the like thanks. Just to be clear, I'm only curious about bp power option only, let's just say the sub was inverted for reference.

  23. Everyone will find out shortly! Hopefully by the end of next week to be precise. Specs: (2) 12" Fi SSD's 4cf enclosure, braced and 45'd, 75+ sq inces of port tuned to 38hz Autotek 1900.1D should be close to 2.3k watts @ 14v, Hopefully around 1150 watts per sub. 2 YT G31's 220a HO alt 2 runs of 0/1 I have faith they will, we had 2 SSD's on a SAZ-1500 @ .5 ohm and they took it like a CHAMP. Don't worry, we will have pics and vids no matter what the outcome. If they blow, then I guess it will be time for another pair of BL's.

Right now I have four JL Audio 10w3v2s in a 2.5 cf enclosure in my Suburban and I am looking to upgrade. My goal is good overall sound quality in my daily driver. Would you recommend 2 FI Q 12's or a single 15? I will be using one or two of my Tru Tech amps depending on which setup I go with. I am using Hybrid gear up front and would like to provide a good match. Thank you in advance for your time and help, John
