I decided to change the "sub-stage" in my truck from that single 15" in that ported enclosure that just never seemed to sound right to two Fi Q 12" in a dual chambered sealed enclosure. The enclosure has about 1.5ft^3 per chamber. The two subwoofers are without the BP option and are being powered by an AQ2200d amplifier.(2200watts@1-Ohms). Hopefully sending each Q with around 1100watts. The subwoofers are DVC 1-Ohm, wired in series to 2-Ohms per subwoofer and bringing a 1-Ohm load on the amplifier. The first Fi Q 12" has been bought and so has the AQ2200d. I plan to order the second Fi Q in a week. What influenced my decision for this subwoofer stage: 1. The Q's performa…

Hey, wuts up. I've got a 12" Bl in a box that is 2.4 before displacement. Right now it is tuned to 30 hz, and I absolutely love it. However, would something like a 35hz or 38hz tune have a higher output for competition? I'm running about 800 watts to the sub right now.

Sup guys this is just another thread on my box problem that has been solved finally. Most of you guys probably saw it before since there isn't a crazy amount of new threads everyday. Anyways I thought i'd post some pictures of the new one since everybody lovvvvves pictures haha. Should be in the show off section I'm guessing, but a BTL is going into so oh well. So tell me what you guys think..I hope this isn't a pointless thread but it probably will be lol. Lata This is my former thread where I discussed the messed up box that I paid $300 for. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=28637 Check out the major difference.

Hey Scott, I need a question answered that just seems to never go away... I found this, its a quote from Dan Wiggins about power handling when running 1 coil on a DVC sub "Lastly, power handling isn't compromised by a factor of 2; it's usually decreased 10-25%. The reason is that rarely are you current-limited by the gauge of the wire, and voice coils are wound concentrically so you still have the entire thermal mass working for you. Just that now all the power is dissipated in a single voice coil (typically two of four layers) so you may end up with an inert, non-conducting thermal mass insulating one side of the voice coil. This does not halve power handling, b…

ok so today i was on my way home and my sub just quit working. i checked the ohms for the coils and its 1.25 . i checked the wire running from the box (there wired to one ohm). So i thought that it was ok. so i then checked the voltage of the speaker wiring coming from the amp and the volts were jumping up and down. so i then hooked up a ten and it played fine. So my question is what is wrong thanks for the help. my amp is sundown audio 2000d my sub is fi btl12 MY HEADUNIT IS pioneer avic n4

Upon opening the bl's box, my friend said "the vents in the basket are so big you can touch the voicecoil" and then he did:( ikd if it matters though so can anyone help me out ? I mean he didnt like hurt it or anything im just unsure if like the fingure grease could maybe hurt the coil but I could just be trippin. Any help would be much appreciated ! Thanks

Just wondering if production has begun on the BL's with 4" voice coils? Ordered my 12" on black Friday so I've very excited about its arrival. Haven't seen anyone posts, pics or info about them on the forums so I'm thinking no one has them yet. I know priority was for the N2's because of the extra machining, it would be great to get an update. Thanks, Jupiter

Just got the BTL fully loaded 18" in. it's in a transmission line box in the back of my envoy XL. taking up all my trunk space along with the removal of the third row. being powered with Audio Que's 2200D amp. was wondering what comps i should be looking at for my doors and im putting a row of 6x9's facing forward behind the headrests of the second row on top of the box for some extra midbass. was wondering if anyone could give me a hand? not looking to spend over 300 for each set of comps and ill drop probably around the same for the 6x9 pairs. i've been looking at the kappa perfect 6.1's by infinity and audioque's component sets. thanks for the help. -d.kish

im looking to change my setup. if i go the bl route, my box cuft will be 5-5.4cuft total including port area. if i go btl route, the box will be about the same total. they will be powered by a zx2500 which in the birth certificate says 2700 (if that matters) now i want to know which will be louder. this will be for daily use in my dodge charger. i currently have 2-15" L7's sealed in a 4.2cuft box and it pounds, but i just want to change it up. plus, i have a feeling that i can get louder than it if i go the FI route. thanx im also open to other suggestions.

  20. Everyone will find out shortly! Hopefully by the end of next week to be precise. Specs: (2) 12" Fi SSD's 4cf enclosure, braced and 45'd, 75+ sq inces of port tuned to 38hz Autotek 1900.1D should be close to 2.3k watts @ 14v, Hopefully around 1150 watts per sub. 2 YT G31's 220a HO alt 2 runs of 0/1 I have faith they will, we had 2 SSD's on a SAZ-1500 @ .5 ohm and they took it like a CHAMP. Don't worry, we will have pics and vids no matter what the outcome. If they blow, then I guess it will be time for another pair of BL's.
