Whats up Everyone, Im new to this site, and hope to gain alot of knowledge from you all. I have a 2004 Escalde, and in trying to decide if i should go with 8 BTL 12s or 4 BTL 15s. I have two Soundstream 10000D amps, 8 kinetick 2400 batts, and a 2nd alternator for the additional batteries. I was running the solo x 18 but im ready to add more cone area and go for a different sound as well as move some serious air. Im not trying to build a wall tho. Ive been doing some reading and im hoping that these woofers will give me what i want. Any suggestions would be great appreciated..thanks in advance. G

Hey, wuts up. I've got a 12" Bl in a box that is 2.4 before displacement. Right now it is tuned to 30 hz, and I absolutely love it. However, would something like a 35hz or 38hz tune have a higher output for competition? I'm running about 800 watts to the sub right now.

How they compare head to head?

Okay guys, heres whats up. I just got my Bl in FINALLY (100% worth the wait btw) It has all options including FW coil. Now what i need to know is it bad to touch the voice coil? Upon opening the bl's box, my friend said "the vents in the basket are so big you can touch the voicecoil" and then he did:( ikd if it matters though so can anyone help me out ? I mean he didnt like hurt it or anything im just unsure if like the fingure grease could maybe hurt the coil but I could just be trippin. Any help would be much appreciated ! Thanks

I posted here since I figured more than one person probably has a blown one so I may help answer for the next guy . anyway, my buddy blew his assasin 10" and I was wondering if we could get a recone kit instead of ship the sub in? don't think the sub is worth that much lol

Hello all, Just wanted to take the time to thank everyone here for indirectly helping me choose my sub. I say indirectly because I haven't posted any questions, rather just took some time to look at everyone elses threads to find a listening style similar to mine. I ordered a 12" Q dual2 last wednesday and I got an e-mail saying that it will ship today.....can't wait! I already built a sealed box for it at around 1.3 cu.ft. I'll see how that sounds at first but have plenty of MDF left over if the need for a new enclosure arises. I will be powering it with a RF T5001bd. ok i am a big time noob to box's, but i do know ported is more spl and sealed is LSQ. For a BL you need to go ported. But for a ported box which would be the loudest out of the 4 combinations, small box small port, big box small port, small box big port, smal box small port? all i am concerned about is spl/loudness. (it is for a 15 BL.) thx.

My first sealed box for my 2 Q15's was 4.4ft^3. It sounded perfect. Now I have 4 Q15's sealed in 8.6ft^3 (after displacement). It is a little less then half the doulbed volume of the dual sub box. I assumed that my roll off would be nearly identical to my first box, or my tuning would be slightly higher, but it is actually opposite. It peaks at 35hz +/- but rolls off quickly above 40hz, as if the box is too big. Could it be possibe that the specs need to be adjusted do to box size or the amount of subs used? Maybe because it is all a single chamber? Because if this, I am considering doing a box that is about 10ft^3 with 4-5 4" round ports tuned to 34hz. That woul…

okay so this maybe a dumb question...but not about to through 260 out the window. just got my Q 12 and the outer layer for the screw holes consists of the surrounding rubber with holes through it, a botttom layer with hole, and a top layer with-OUT hole. i assume i just punch through the top layer with the screw? I know i read this in here somewhere else in someones post but i cant recall what it said and i can't locate it now. thanks in advance kind of eager to begin my upgrade from a flame 1206t to this beast. yeah i bought audiobahn...i was young and dumb.

are ported boxes ok for rock music too? i have the room an would like the extra output from my ssd 12. but mostly listen to rock. could i tune it higher or lower an be good? or should i just go sealed. an be plenty loud enough with sundown 1000 at 1 ohm. any opiniones,help? appreciated

So i built a box and everything was lookign good. I ordered two 3" port tubes. I tried to put the box in my car without the face board on and it fit. However with the front board on it did not. I had to therefore inset the board changing the demensions of the box a bit. The box demensions are now 25.5 X 17 X 16.75. How long do my 3 inch port tubes need to be to achieve a tuning of 33hz. The woofer i have is the 15Q so displacement is .19 cubic feet. Thanks for the help.

im wanting to get a 15'' BTL and i been researching them and i have seen a lot of comments on how the tinsel leads fry.. why do they do this?? will i be ok with 3,000 watts to my sub or will it eventually fry?

Hey I was wondering if I'll receive a tracking number when my recone ships? I know you do for sub orders but do you e-mail one for recones as well?

does anyone know some websites that have good diagrams of how to hook up amps and subwoofers.

Right now I have 2 15" Fully loaded Fi BTL's old triple stack magnets. One needs a recone. They are daily versions as well. How do I know if I need to get the flat wind coil or the xmax coil? Assuming I need to get the same as my other one I dont know what it is cause I got it used. Would fully loaded mean mine have the xmax coil? Thanks!

Ok, i am selling my bl 18's here locally over next week or so. Should I wait for the 22" FI subs or go ahead and try the IA DP 21"? Thing is I really dont want to wait awhile before gettin new subs

Just wanna say thanks and great build on my fully loaded 15" BTL. Everything looks great and top notch. Shipping was fast, packaging was great and I think it goes without saying the sub is awesome. Did you just recently start putting the little black felt pads on the bottom of the cone for the tinsel slap? Thanks again for the service and the sub.
