I am getting my new FI Q 12" on Tuesday and want to have everything set up and ready to go when it comes so I can hook it up and go without fiddling with settings on amp or cd player. I need to tune my amp and will not take it to a shop to get charged for something I can do. My question is how to properly tune my amp without an oscilliscope, or hooking my sub up. I want to be able to somewhat tune it with the sub unhooked as I want to properly break the sub in and cannot do that by tuning my amp with the sub hooked up. Once I have the sub broke in, then I will fine tune my amp to the sub w/ it hooked up, but until then how will I have it tuned pretty close w/ hooking …

I already have a set of cdt cl61A's and tw24's amped with a RF 4002 with a 4 gauge kit from kk installed, and am going to get my SSD shortly. I need to know what kit to go with for the next install. Do you think I'd be fine with 4 gauge or do I need to go with a 2 or 1/0 kit? Thanks

I have 4 t3 audio tss 15's (last year model).wanting them rebuilt to 18's. I can do it myself just need baskets and soft parts. If you guys at fi could help me out i would be greatful. oh also need them before nopi thanks

has anyone ever done a horn shaped port, where its wide at the baffle then gets narrower towards the back of the enclosure.....just curious if anyone has done this in a wall....

Hey everyone I have a quick question. How does it work with the RMS wattage and the impedance the speakers are wired to? Are they always the same RMS wattage at the different impedances you can have the speakers wired to?

Im really set on getting a 12 Q but as i saw pictures of it i saw it in very big boxes.I was wondering if one 12 would need the same box size as two(like the picture at the bottom)..this question sounds stupid even to me a newb,but the reason i ask is because i saw a video of a 12 Q with the same box as the one in the picture below the only diffrence is there was only one 12 in the box and not 2.The picture at the bottom is a 2001 maxima just like mine so if you look at it you can roughly tell how much space im working with(kinda since the box is covering the whole trunk)..Also im pretty sure im going to get the 12 Q so i was wondering what would be the best amp for it? i…

Just ordered a 12" FI Q and a US Amps Merlin MD2D. Was just wondering if anyone else is running this setup or have any thoughts on it? I will be running this in a 1.2 sealed. Thanks ahead of time and hope everyone has a very nice week.

hello, just trying to get some input, use to bass race a few years back, then "lost" all my stuff, so i'm now finally getting back into it. This will be strictly a dd set-up/bass racer. Tell me what you think, input is much appreciated. My set-up consists of the following: 2001 Chevy blazer Alpine 9857 200amp HO alt Big 3 done in 1/0 optima yellow top under the hood (3) kinetik 2400's in the back (2)Fully loaded BTL 15's (2)Audioque 2200d's strapped at 2 ohms 9.5 cubic ft. net crx style using 3 6" aero ports tuned around 34hz Does this sound like a good setup? Hey guys, I have a question about horizontal mounting a subwoofer. I've read various articles on it, looked at the sag factor tech page from adire, and etc... still, i've heard some convincing things about it still not being good. Here's my question for you: I have an 18" BL full loaded and its horizontally mounted. I ran the sag factor equation from adire and it meets the "criteria" of mounting horizontal. however, iv'e heard also that with gravity...it doesnt matter because gravity pulls down on it more and therefore i get more distortion, etc. whats the low down on this? Am i in some bad shape with having my sub horizontal? normally I mount my subs in the typical, firi…

Going over yet another system design...6 x 15's in a wall.....have a couple ideas....thanks to Shawn Flemming...that could work pretty well :-) just trying to get some opinions on both 1 - subs facing forward (would be staggered to fit the height requirement) with the port in the middle 2 - subs firing towards each other, staggered with the port in the middle - basically a ported clamshell there would be 3 subs on each side

I sent in a BTL to be replaced and it has been months with nothing sent back. It was said to be in the process of being replaced. The last email that I got back from Fi was on February 11th. I'm going to order a SSD10 and plan to load it in a sealed box w/ .63 airspace (after displacement) and power it w/ a Sundown SAE-1000D (are there other recommended amps for the SSD10?) Questions: 1. I'm guessing I should get the dual 1-ohm coils and wire them in series to get 2-ohms (600w) ... since dual 2-ohm coils wired in series would result in 4-ohms (only 300w) and dual 2-ohm coils wired in parallel would overpower the speaker (1-ohm, 1000w), correct?!? 2. Since this is going to be a daily driving setup and I'm more interested in SQ, should I consider any other options besides the copper coil upgrade? Mucho thanks for any help / insight.
