hi Guys, I havent posted here in a while, but i am in need of some guidance. I just ordered 3 hifonics BX1606d's or whatever the numbers are.... Now i have to order some subs, I can't decide between Q's and BL's. I have no idea what all the options are for on the bl's and if someone could explain all of them that would be awesome. I was planning on putting 1 of the hifonics on each, and i also need some advice on box size, tuning etc. SQ is not really a concern of mine, and i have made all the electrical upgrades to the car so everything will work with the power. Just givin some scores at the local competition the USACI put on at the NOPI Import Faceoff in Montgomery, Alabama yesterday. I took 1st in 1001-2000 modified with a 147.2. Metered in passenger kick panel sealed up. I did not like the placement of the mic due to the fact my system is geared towards the windshield!!!! I also took 1st in super port wars with a 162.8. Not bad scores with dead cells in my battery under hood. metering 11.5 volts in the back at 2200 rpm. Replacing battery tomorrow. I put my back yellowtop under hood today and metering 15.8v in the back. I'm running 2 18" btl's with 1 rockford t20001bd. I was placed in modified because my box was 2" above windo…

well the first comp of the year is happening up hear in ut. and just looking for some tips. I was also wondering about buiding another box for a BTL18 with only the cooling opt. If I was to do this then it would be a crx style and the dementions would be 36X22X28 and would need help with the port to get it tuned to 36hz. the box I have now is 36x33x18 tuned to 32hz. any input would be great thanks guys. does anyone knows if the bl 15" will work in 2.50 cubes box

I got my 2 BL's a while ago, back in September. I just got around to getting my amps, so I take everything out of the box to hook it all up, and I noticed one of the cones is rock rock solid. Thats when I really started to worry, I hooked everything up running them at 1 ohm, and played a quick sweep to see if it would unlodge the coil. Nope, just a bad scratching noise, so I quickly turned off the head unit and unhooked everything. So now I am curious what to do. Does the warranty cover this defect? It really sucks that I haven't even been able to jam this sub and its already broken. I sent an email to scott, but I really dont know what he will do.

I am going to change up my system, and i am trying to decide between two FI BL 12"s or four Kicker L5 12"s. I listen to mostly hip hop and rap, with some rock. I currently have 2 15" L7s, being powered by a MA AUdio HK802SX amp. I am going to upgrade the amp.. but it kinda depends on what sub setup i go with. I have just over 6cuft of space to play with... So what do you think, 2 Bl12"s or 4 L5 12"s? What will give me a better sound for all types of music? Any amp recomendations?

Would like to buy a Q motor and a 15" basket so I could throw the extra soft parts I have in it. I am using Fi soft parts for the recone. I have an extra Q Fc D1 I would like to build this sub for myself and give my pre-09 to my buddy for xmas. What would the pricing and shipping look like for this motor, basket, and some glue? =/

this guy offered to build me a box on another forum here are the specs 17"H x 42"W x 24"D, 8.174^3ft gross vol. Slot port, 15.5" x 5" x 15.92"Long@37Hz. After all displacement, 7.048^3ft net box vol. Built from 3/4"UL-MDF. Seams matched and double sealed. Reinforced baffle board. Dado cut end caps. Seams fastened with Tite Bond glue and 1-5/8" counter sunk drywall screws. Walls fully braced and tied in with Hardwood bracing for Zero wall flex. 45 degree boards in the corners to kill standing sound waves. Gold spring loaded binding post. Ports painted black. Gray Ozite carpet. it is going in a 04 ford explorer and my goal is SPL just wondering if this would work good…

I have a high output alternator being built, then Ill install 0 gauge power and ground wires,rebuild subwoofer box so all 4 subs will be facing up. Front door panels will be rebuilt installing an E8 sub as midbass, powered by a soundstream rubicon 1002, and soundstream RF-60 component set for mids and highs also powered by a soundstream rubicon 1002, the E8s will be bandpass at 60 herts to 200 herts, then the RF-60 comp set will play 200 herts and up. would this be a good subwoofer enclosure for 2 fi bl's??? is the port fine?>?? and should i close each subwoofer in its own box..with its own port???/

Is there a posibility to run these in sealed? There is an old comment about testing this in sealed and wanted to know what the results are if any?

Anyone going to a show or comp in northeastern ohio running Fi subs? I've only seen & heard 1 and considering the set-up it sounded ok (1 Fi 18", kid doesn't even know the model or the rms, bought it used with a big ass Boss amp hooked to it in a sealed box). After doing some poking around the net and alot of reading on here I want to hear some in better systems.
