How much to change a fully loaded BTL 18 to a 12 or 15? I need a much smaller box for my new truck.

I'm putting my first system in the backseat of my 2004 Ford F150. What I would like to do is put 2 BL12's back there and run them off of either a Kicker ZX2500.1 or 2 ZX1000.1's, but I have several questions. I want to wire them to 2ohms to get the full potential out of my amps, so will I need to get the subs with dual 1 or dual 2 ohm voice coils? As far as a box goes, I plan on getting a custom slot ported box made. I ran my measurements through a program and it came back with these specs: Net Airspace- 2.5 cu. ft. per sub Port Volume- 1.586 cu. ft. Port Area- 80.39 sq. in. I have been building boxes for sometime and I notice that a lot of boxes have the same concept but are built a little different. When I build a ported box for two subs I normally direct the air out of the front (depending on the application) of the enclosure with a divider between both chambers. I have seen some enclosures with no divider coming out of the front, just a big hole. Does adding or taking away a divider give off a different sound? I also add one in the middle just to make the box more rigid. I am building two ported boxes for a van. Would it be better to port it in the front like I have been doing or to go another way. I made the box for 2 bl's I made the cut ID 11.375 I know it should be 11.125 Will that 1/4" be okay? Will the sub screw in?

Hello, I have a PT cruiser and I am looking at the Q12s or Q15s (4 of each) I have the back seats removed and have about 17.875 cuft to work with, the box would be: WIDTH is 39 in. HEIGHT is 24 in. DEPTH is 33 in. Would there be enough room in that box for (4) Q15s sealed? Maybe able to add 2 more inches to the Depth! I will running about 1500 watts rms to each subwoofer, will the Q12s or 15s without the power opt. handle that much power in a sealed box? thanks.....Brian

got a 15 Q with bp option and a sundown saz 1000d....can't wait for them to show up. Had a 15 bl with all options and hifonix 1606....had to sell it cus I needed money at the time. Went with a q cus I love sealed a lot more. CAN'T WAIT!!!

Is there a posibility to run these in sealed? There is an old comment about testing this in sealed and wanted to know what the results are if any?

Im am trying to get my box for a 18" Bl made before i order so that when it comes in i can just drop it in and go. Here are the specs and a couple of scketches. I also have a coulple of questions since i dont have the sub in yet. My main concern is i am wondering if the subwoofer is going to fit between the edge of the box and the L port. The distance between the two is 19.5 " is this enough room to fit the sub and the outside of the basket where the screws are. Also what do u think about the dimensions and the design. Well my avalanche is officially done. The suspension was getting loose as it was and I apparently smoked the coils. I was listening to white girl when my car suddenly started to fill with smoke. It kept playing after that believe it or not but it was alot quieter and now it's cutting in and out. I know on the main site it says you guys recone other companies subs and considering the fi and AA connection I know this is where to go. However I didn't see any links to follow. Who do I get in contact with to get a recone kit sent to me? Can I get a cool new dustcap? (i'd like a new AA one, but whatever, just sick of the plain black)

so i got the Re SX with the extra power mods you guys added back from ups today it looks and sounds awesome. i was really blown away by how much stiffer the suspension was than the sx suspension, and those tinsels are out of this world thanks so much for the help guys, it really wangs hard! ill definitely throw some vids up when i get the chance, got the sub 45 min ago and it's in and tested already.
