i just have one 1 18 btl and im hugely satisfied with it. it plays the lows so hard compared to the 2 12 l7s i had before. i think the btl isnt louder in the higher freq but the lows oh my god thats awesome! now i have the chance to sell my btl and im thinking of getting 2 18 Qs in a sealed 9 cft. box because im very impressed by the sq of the btl (although the box i have is crap, less than 5 cft after displacement). is there a comparable sub to the Q? like alpines type x? amp is a bxi 2610. the Qs would run at 1 ohm (2,6 kw rms).

  6. I purchased a new pair of 10" RE MT recones and the surround is about a full inch from the surround landing on my 12 spoke baskets. I've only seen RE MT subs built with 12 spokes so my question is are the recones faulty or are there different size 12 spoke baskets? Mine are just black 10" 12 spokes with the correct size spider landing (8.25 I believe) I e-mailed about this on wednesday and haven't received any response. Just want to know if i need new baskets or if i need to return the recones.

Q 12" next an Alpine Type-E 12" HA I'm 21, never done much wood/mdf work, and this is the first time I've ever attempted building an enclosure. Fortunately, it's going in that narrow little trunk hole in the rear of my 4th gen Camaro, so the shape of the enclosure is pretty simple. (Also, only pic of my girlfriend who was there helping the whole 3 days for this project. If you can't tell, I'm a terrible person.) ↓ All done with a jigsaw. The planning/drawing out and cutting of the pieces took the best part of two days. Liquid nails and countersunk screws Flaring the pvc on a bowl in some boil…

ok so i know this is probobly a dumb question but i have to ask. what is the best series of sub to buy for a daily bad ass bass machine? to fill it in for you here we go...... i have a 86 bmw 325E a friend and i did everything ti this car as a team effort. it has two mephis 5 1/4 on a 2 channle ads, 2 orion 6x9's on a orion 225 and (had) 2 soundstream t4's 15's in a 10 cubic foot box, round ported, tuned for 35 hrtz. the car has two huge glass matte batterys and a 320amp alt on it. now the subs were driven bt a orion d1200...... obviosly way under driven, but it purduced 130 dbs on a normal song ( blur berry yum yum by ludacris). so the one sub re burnt the voice coil and…

  11. hey everyone i'm looking to make an upgrade. i currently have 3 12's a crunch gp3000d pro amp which is suppose to be underrated at 3kw rms at 1ohm. i also have 0 gauge wiring a 300 amp alt fatmat throughout the entire vehicles i think two layers in some place but atleast one layer throughout the entire vehicle. i have an optima red top under the hood and a kinetic hc1800 in the back for the subs. i have a 1997 ford explorer sport (2 door) and i am interested in either 2 fi btl's 15's or 1 fi btl 18 n2 model i have enough space to run the 2 15's or the single 18 with no problem now my question is which would give more output. i love lows so im looking to have the box tune…

Hey there Scott or Nick. Today My 12" BTL that I purchased in late April started to smoke today. I have the subwoofer in a ported box around 3cuft to a Crunch GP3000D Pro. I was driving today and out of no where my subwoofer started to cut out and I thought that it was probably a wire coming loose or something so i just turned it down. Then I smell this awful burning smell and look back and the back seat of my car is being filled with a whitish smoke. I am assuming that somehow the voice coils burnt up. What would I need to do to have this fixed? A recone? And what does the FI warranty cover because I wasnt really pushing the subwoofer as hard as it could go. It was about…

Hello. I have 1 15" Fi BTL for now and I was looking at getting another in the future. I found a pretty good deal on an Ma audio HK4000D. My electrical will have the Big 3 done and I have 1 Kinetic 1400 battery but also soon to be at least one more. Would this amp be worth the money to push 2 15" Btl's daily (Rap) to their full potential or is it overrated?

I talked to you about a month ago about my tinsel leads being snapped in half on my 12" ssd and you asked for pictures, and then for me to send it in along with all my contact info and what coil i want in it. I sent it off on 5/29 and the tracking info said it got to you at 6/3 and mike signed for it. I sent you a reply email asking if you wanted the tracking # before hand, and didn't get a email back. I'm just hoping to hear some sort of update on this. Thanks

  16. I am currently beginning an installation for my 2002 Ranger super cab. I will be running two BTL 12's in this install. I would like some opinions on this setup. Some people may think im crazy for putting this into a small space. But I live by the rule get loud or go home. Let me know what you all think about how this will turn out and how hard it will be hitting.

I saw a picture of an N3 motor but I can't figure out how much of the motor is actually neo. So there are three lobes tot he motor and then there are a few blocks of material per lobe. The top plate, then two thin pieces side by side, then one big piece, and then the bottom plate. Is the neo just the thin pieces that have two side by side per lobe or is the block underneath that which is much bigger made of neo also? How does this compare to other neo woofers out there like the DC or the DD 95z or 99z?

I have four BTL 15 N2s, all ordered and received a couple months ago. The web site claims a cutout diameter of 14.125 inches. Well good thing I measured before I cut, because that's too big for any of my subs. And what's more, the subs all differ from each other! One sub takes a cutout of 13.75, another a cutout of 14, and the final two a cutout of 13.825. (I verified these exactly by cutting different-sized holes in scrap wood with my router, then fitting the subs). All subs have the same outer diameter of 15.5 (again not like the website, which claims 15.625). I must say I'm kind of surprised the manufacturing tolerances in the basket can vary this much? Is this expect…
