Just thought I'd chime in... haven't been around any forums lately, and I haven't talked to Scott/Nick/Shawn for a couple of months. I'm glad to see business is still booming. I purchased my first 18" fully-loaded BTL in August I believe... waited for my 20.1 to come in. Got the 20.1... and we built a 10 cube ported box, tuned to 30hz in the trunk of my 1996 Chrysler LHS. I gained close to 6 decibels going from an 18" SX and an Orion 1200D to an 18" BTL and a 20.1. Still waiting fulfillment for order placed on 2/12 I know it's tax season and all, just wondering if when they do get shipped am I going to get a tracking number so I can follow them and know when to expect them since I work all day and don't want them sitting in snow waiting to be snatched up. I got rid of my G35 and bought an Explorer which I decided not to keep, so I got myself an '07 Dodge magnum. I have a pair of Q15's and a US Amps MD2 running off of a hi-lo converter on the stock system, and it still sounds tremendous. In a couple weeks I am installing a new HU and some mids and highs, but mu question for you is....What subs would you run in a Magnum if you were going for a LOUD daily ground pounder that would meter well. Meaning, not an all out SPL setup. Stick with the Q's? Get a pair of 15" BTL's? A single 18" BTL? My new baby...

This might seem really horrible to start a forum about, but I feel like it is needed. I emailed FI through there contact tap asking questions about the Subwoofer I wanted to order. I waited a couple days and got no response(still nothing today). So I figured maybe it didn't send, or you know something happened and they didn't receive it. Hey Fi Audio, I ordered the wrong subs. I wanted the SSD 12'' instead of the IB3 12'' can you guys please switch my order and let me know how to pay for it. Or just use the money i already paid and switch the subs and not worry about the 20$ i owe you . Alright just let me know what i need to do to switch out the orders. I really want the SSDs

running 900rms to it, should i get the bp power option? should i get it just in case i ever run more power to it?

I have four BTL 15 N2s, all ordered and received a couple months ago. The web site claims a cutout diameter of 14.125 inches. Well good thing I measured before I cut, because that's too big for any of my subs. And what's more, the subs all differ from each other! One sub takes a cutout of 13.75, another a cutout of 14, and the final two a cutout of 13.825. (I verified these exactly by cutting different-sized holes in scrap wood with my router, then fitting the subs). All subs have the same outer diameter of 15.5 (again not like the website, which claims 15.625). I must say I'm kind of surprised the manufacturing tolerances in the basket can vary this much? i metered my new 12" Q last week and hit 139.6 on the dash. its powered by a orion xtr pro1000. I coulda turned it up more but i just wanted to see what it would do. somehow i got 1st place..maybe cuz there were only 3 other people in my class. one of these days im goin to see what it hits in the port cuz it pushes alot of air for just a 12. but yea its a beast and i havnt had any trouble at all with it. Ok so I placed a order for a Bl 15 on May 28th. I have emailed everyone i can email with no response from anyone!! I was going to try something new for Scrapin the Coast this year and represent Fi Audio but it looks as if I will not be doing so because I havent recieved my sub. Honestly in your experiences does the FI Q work/sound better in a sealed or vented enclosure? and does this seem to change with size? (ex. a 10in Q sounds better vented while a 12in. Q sounds better in a sealed box) Just wandering what everyone's opinion is

my amp has been really hot every time ive played my system..Ive had it for 2 days now. Is there a reason why this is happening, its hurts to touch if you keep your hand on it for more then 3 or 4 seconds. Only on the outsides. The amp is a zx1000 kicker. My sub is also get hot along with the amp, but not as fast and not near as hot. Is this normal..This is one of my first systems

I was in street B, and got 2nd place with a 140.5db run. Another guy from here "chapter 2" got 1st with 145.9db in street B. We were both running 15" BL, except his box was bigger than mines and he had a bigger amp... :-( Charles another guy on here took 3rd in street B with 137.6db with 2 12" SSDs. Charles man, BIGGER Box!!! I took 1st in bass race 130-139.9. Another guy on here Tom took 2nd with 152.2db in Super Street 5+, he lost to a guy that had 20 15" RF T1, thats not fair. what size box should i build for two 18's the BL's with 1600 rms each going to them. i want to do i square port and subs facing up. dose anyone have any box plans i could use or ideas. it is in the back without rear seats so i have room can go up to 48 wide. thanks for any help

currently i have three q12's sealed in a mazda 3 sedan firing through the rear seat opening i have a 1000 watt amp on each. some of the choices that i have are.... 1.) get 2 q15 and run them sealed firing into cab via rear seat opening 1000 on each (less weight than i have now and less current draw and should be louder) aprox 530.00 A. if i get these and i have an itch to eliminate trunk space i can go ported but i dont think i will have room for 2-15's ported due to lack of area in rear seat opening for 2 15's and a port so this not likely 2.) get 1 btl and ported obviously with 1000 on each coil. through the rear seat opening. I have 2 Memphis 1000 Watt amps and was wondering if they were enough to push 4 15" BTL's. THey say 2000rms so im not sure if 500 watts would be good enough for 1

Okay, so here's the dilemma I'm having: whether to go with multiple smaller subs, or a couple bigger subs. Now, I've looked this up, but nobody seems to get it. Yeah, if you power one single, massive woofer with enough juice, it'll outperform 2 subs with lower wattage, but what I'm trying to figure out is: say you have 1 or 2 18" woofers, and lets say 4 or 6 12" woofers, with equal total wattage going to either set of woofers, which one is going to be louder? Also, I've heard the bigger woofers will hit lower hertz louder, at lower volume levels than smaller woofers. But, will quantity compensate the larger size of the bigger woofers lower response?
