this is a fi comparison thread to mainstream subs i was thinking this would be a good idea for people who are coming from mainstream products (like me) to fi's line of products this will help alot of people make up there minds on which fi sub best suits them. im going to need lots of help on this (: FI SSD- ... The SSD Series of subwoofers is our all around daily sub. Double stack magnets with a heavily bumped T-yoke allow clearance for high excursion. Along with pair of heavy weaved progressive spiders, a multiplayer foam surround attached to a fiber impregnated kraft pulp cone helps keep things under control in high power applications. A 3

  3. Soon to have one more 18... Check these videos! Besides the little problem I had with communication, Fi ROCKS! You Tube shrunk the videos and made them a little blurry but you get the pitcher.

How much room do I need to have between bottom of box to the floor of truck? I am building a downfiring sealed box (may go ported with 10's) for crewcab chevy. I have just right at 3.0 ft^3 airspace after displacement which is exactly what is called for for the 12" Fi Q (x2) if I have the legs on the box at 1.75". I just needed to know how much room to clear sub. Thanks in Advance!

Was tired driving home from finals, and about an hour or so away from home....swerved to avoid something that ran across the road (deer?), and rolled the focus at least 3-4 times. The winshield shattered and caved in, front half of the roof crunched, windows shattered, amps and batts were thrown from the trunk, and i guess scattered a good 20-30 feet from the car. I probably wouldnt be writing this if i had not had the wall built in the car, acted like a wooden roll cage....you'll see what I mean when/if i post pics. The car is completely totaled, not sure on teh condition of the speakers. Not sure how, but i was able to get out of the car with just a couple bruises and a…

I JUST RECEIVED MY ib3 12 sub which looks better than imagined and alot heavier too!! i read that its 550@20hz. i was looking into getting an alpine pdx 5 for my car wich is 350 rms at 2 ohms. does wattage affect output in a free air sub? does the 550 @ 20hz mean i shouldnt give it more than 550 or would 550 be the minimum power. i dunno, its a bit confusing. some help on this would be appreciated im not much of a noob in the audio world so scientific explanations are welcomed! haha

I was talkin to a box builder last night...He gave me some good advice. My main goal is a LSQ system...He said go with a FI Q 18...i was like have you heard one...he said yeah...in a sealed box. He said it would sound better than the same woofer in a ported. This is what he relayed to me from an installer friend of his. I was like ok... He said go 18 inch Q sealed 4 cu ft.....i was like how bout 7 cu. ft ported tuned to 30 hz... I was thinking would it make a BIG NOTICABLE differance on an 18 inch Q...in those box dimensions...its an 18inch sub...thats pretty big... or should i go with the 15...?(for LSQ)

The amp ihave is a kicker mono amp 08 ZX 750.1. It is 2ohm stable. Accoriding to its birth sheet if i can remember correctly, it was putting out 823 rms watts I was looking into the 12" JL audio W6 v2. BUT I was looking at the 12" Fi Q So i was leaning towards it... My car is daily driven and im not sure about the options for the Fi Q sub. I am a noob to this car audio stuff and dont really know what is what. Since i am looking for SQ i dont know wether i should go sealed or por…
