would two 18 fully loaded BL's take the soundstream xxx-6500 amp? they are ported of course tuned to 35hz with two hifionics clossus one on each, they wang hard as hell. but just wondering if this amp would be too much? it is 4800 at 2 ohms and 6400 at 1 ohm but i have been told they were much stronger than rated but with voltage drop i should be around that range>>> should wang i think

i was gettin ready to do a few things last nite on the caddy and i wanted to make sure everything was still working good so i tossed in a Metallica CD. Dont worry bassheads, there will be PLENTY of low-end, deep bass playing in this thing soon enough. I just cant get over how this thing sounds on rock so i had to make another vid veBR01pIejE its hard to get that sub excursion when kick drums move so fast but you can tell if you look they are doing there thing and very much under control too video does it NO justice, once again lol.....i have to say that because the camera mic does not show how good this thing sounds....at least my new camera doesnt distort as bad from…

Okay, so here's the dilemma I'm having: whether to go with multiple smaller subs, or a couple bigger subs. Now, I've looked this up, but nobody seems to get it. Yeah, if you power one single, massive woofer with enough juice, it'll outperform 2 subs with lower wattage, but what I'm trying to figure out is: say you have 1 or 2 18" woofers, and lets say 4 or 6 12" woofers, with equal total wattage going to either set of woofers, which one is going to be louder? Also, I've heard the bigger woofers will hit lower hertz louder, at lower volume levels than smaller woofers. But, will quantity compensate the larger size of the bigger woofers lower response?

I was talkin to a box builder last night...He gave me some good advice. My main goal is a LSQ system...He said go with a FI Q 18...i was like have you heard one...he said yeah...in a sealed box. He said it would sound better than the same woofer in a ported. This is what he relayed to me from an installer friend of his. I was like ok... He said go 18 inch Q sealed 4 cu ft.....i was like how bout 7 cu. ft ported tuned to 30 hz... I was thinking would it make a BIG NOTICABLE differance on an 18 inch Q...in those box dimensions...its an 18inch sub...thats pretty big... or should i go with the 15...?(for LSQ)

Went to lunch today and when I got back to the office there are 2 big boxes on the doorstep. I didnt realise anything until I saw the USPS logo on the boxes and I know that is may package. As I carried it onto my desk I realised that the sub nearly fell off. After opening it I saw the packaging was terrible. I'm not sure whether it was originally packed that way or the someone else opened it to have a look as there were signs that the box was already opened. Well I am just grateful that the sub make it without any cosmetics defect though. Anyway thanks Scott for the subs and I cant wait to built a home for it. I'll post pics tommorow. This sub will go into a 3.5 cu. ft. a…

I am thinking of buying a 95-01 4 DR Blazer or 95-01 Explorer 4 dr and I want to start off with two 15" BL's (dual 1 ohm) ported and for the amp either a Sundown SAZ-3000D or a Hifonics Colossus. I was reading and the BL's seem to be what I want...The Q's are the Sound Quality woofer and The BTL is the all out SPL BASS MONSTER,and the SSD being the entry level woofer the BL' claims to fill the gap between the Q and the BTL. What ratio of SPL/SQ would you say the 15" BL's fit.Right now I have two 12" Type R's and they sound alright to me and get loud but I want more bass and better.I want those head craking hits and those low nut jumping shakes.I listen to lots of Metal …

Need ideas for the enclosure. I am going to run it on a saz-1500d. I did at one time have a L7 in a 6.0^3 box. It fit just fine. any help is apreciated! i put the new measurements up, i went out there and measure it out, width between strut towers. height was at the trunk tensioners and depth was just depth... keep in mind i have the trunk lid hinges to clear......

What is the difference between the 12" Fi BL 3" coil and the 4" coil. Will 4" coil make it handle more watts and/or make it louder. Or is it for cooling. If anyone knows the difference between the two please let me know. I am planning on ordering a sub really soon just need to know the difference and benefits of each.

My order #999 was a Q18 Dual 2. Dual 2 is important, because I'm only running 1 woofer and I need to be at a 1 ohm final load. I received my speaker in the mail a little under a week ago, and brought it out lat night to do some wiring. I hooked up the multimeter to the terminals, and...what in the world? Both voice coils read 5.2 ohms. Dual 4 isn't even an option on the website? How did I end up with what appears to be just that? I sent Shawn an email through the sales email, hoping to hear back today. I'm at a 3.2 final load, which is no bueno. I've got 1500 watts on tap at 1 ohm, and I'd like to use them all.

Hey Shawn and everyone @ Ficaraudio.com, First of all I would like to compliment on the new ordering process and how you give an order status with each order placed. Its very promising that my order is going to be completed as quickly as possible when you guys send me emails of confirmation and order status. Awesome to see this! I have a question about my order as Shawn, you emailed me about the basket price not being included in my total. I do want to buy the basket from you guys,(can I get an old school silver one=]) I just don't know how you want me to pay you guys...do you have a paypal I can send money to? I also have a dilemma with my order, as I ordered a dual …

I will not be changing anything around (besides port frequency).... Options that I have chosen thus far: 3rd Magnet HiXmCoil So, do I want the cooling or P chamfer??? in advance

this is a fi comparison thread to mainstream subs i was thinking this would be a good idea for people who are coming from mainstream products (like me) to fi's line of products this will help alot of people make up there minds on which fi sub best suits them. im going to need lots of help on this (: FI SSD- ... The SSD Series of subwoofers is our all around daily sub. Double stack magnets with a heavily bumped T-yoke allow clearance for high excursion. Along with pair of heavy weaved progressive spiders, a multiplayer foam surround attached to a fiber impregnated kraft pulp cone helps keep things under control in high power applications. A 3
