I JUST RECEIVED MY ib3 12 sub which looks better than imagined and alot heavier too!! i read that its 550@20hz. i was looking into getting an alpine pdx 5 for my car wich is 350 rms at 2 ohms. does wattage affect output in a free air sub? does the 550 @ 20hz mean i shouldnt give it more than 550 or would 550 be the minimum power. i dunno, its a bit confusing. some help on this would be appreciated im not much of a noob in the audio world so scientific explanations are welcomed! haha

im thinking to get a FI BL, i've got now an hifonics asx 15 subwoofer i just wanna go much louder, and maybe is the quality of the BL sound even better to?

i ordered a recone but there is no n2 recone but there is a new single magnet recone so are the soft parts on the btl saucer the same as the new btl n2?

In a week or so i'm going to be ordering a 15" Q. What are some amps you're using for the Q. These are what i'm looking at, at the moment. Alpine PDX 1.1000 PHOENIX GOLD RSD1200.1 Hifonics Brutus BXi 1608D

At the end of this month I will be purchasing an Fi Q12 for the great north. It will be installed in a 2005 jimmy 2door with lots of room. Atm I plan on using a Sounqubed Q1-1200D. At 2 ohms it states 870x1 at 2ohms and 1470 at 1ohm. Im wondering do you think running it at 2ohms will give the Q12 enough power that it sounds good and not sluggish or do I have to go at 1ohm. Will running it at 1ohm take away some of the reponse/clearness of the Bass? Should I go with the Q1-2200D for 2ohm? I was in street B, and got 2nd place with a 140.5db run. Another guy from here "chapter 2" got 1st with 145.9db in street B. We were both running 15" BL, except his box was bigger than mines and he had a bigger amp... :-( Charles another guy on here took 3rd in street B with 137.6db with 2 12" SSDs. Charles man, BIGGER Box!!! I took 1st in bass race 130-139.9. Another guy on here Tom took 2nd with 152.2db in Super Street 5+, he lost to a guy that had 20 15" RF T1, thats not fair. ok everyone I just installed my 2 - 12" fi Bl's running off a RF 2000.1 ....Tomorrow (6-17-09) there is a local car show thrown by a radio station in my city and i would like to enter into the "bass-off" and "bass-race"competition. this will be my first time doing any competition like this and i would like some advice on how i should approach it: such as .....should i play music or use like a bass cd or even use like a test tone cd. am i supposed to have the windows up or down? Right now I am planning on running 3 10" BL or Q's in a ported enclosure at about 3.2cuft or so after displacement and such, ran off a Sundown 3000. I am not entirely sure which to use, BL's or Q's and would like to know the major differences between the two in order to help my decision. Thanks

First off I don't intend to violate any copyright via design or brand infringement, I was just bored and really wanted to visualize what is coming next from Fi. That being said, I decided to share: I just want to know if the NSG is to be similar to the Ascendant Audio supergauss woofer, with N3 motors in anti-pole configuration. Still waiting fulfillment for order placed on 2/12 I know it's tax season and all, just wondering if when they do get shipped am I going to get a tracking number so I can follow them and know when to expect them since I work all day and don't want them sitting in snow waiting to be snatched up. Alright so heres my situation. I currently have 2 12"alpine type R's. They are dual 4ohms and i have them wired up at 1ohm on my mtx amp. My amp is a ta7801 which is advertised at 1200w rms at 1ohm. But the birth/dyno sheet with the amp is 1663rms. I am pretty happy with this setup but just like everone else, you always want something newer and louder. ok guys so i came across an alt on ebay and its pretty and i was wondering if you guys could take a look at it and let me know what you guys think because i just dont have the funds right now to buy a dc as much as i want too. Alright, first post here, but I'm not a newb. Been building boxes and installing for 9 years or so. I just ripped my wall out of my 01 Implala (4 RE SX 15s, Mojo 4000d, 5 batts...) and I picked up a pair of Q18s from a friend of mine. The following equipment is being used: Alpine 9886, ID Chameleon Components, old school Orion 2500d (the all silver one) and an old Orion 300.2, alt is an Iraggi 200amp. After I ripped my wall out I ran just the 300.2 on my components and ended up with some horrible alternator whine. I've never had whine before. ordered two fi btl 18 fully loaded on the 6th of febuary 2010 .... lead time then was at 3 to 10 days.... its now the 11th now lead time says all btls wont be shipped till march 2nd and the cooling option will be free... i have already paid and pay pal been accepted ..... wondering if my subs were in the first batch of shipping..... or the march 2nd batch.... i fully understand that you guys build subs upon reciving order so i know it takes time just wondering if i can expect mine this month or next month...tried emailing scott no replies maybe on here i can get some answers thanks

I just want to thank Fi car audio for all the help they have given me. For those that dont know the story here it is.... At WF 06, I needed my atomics reconed and didnt have the materials to do it, so Scott and the guys said that they would no problem. I dropped off my sub at their room/workshop. About 10 minutes into the ordeal Scott informs me that the coil, cone and other parts are wrong. I was, needless to say, screwed. I think i will be ordering 2 of the 12' fi q's soon. My question is will these hit harder then my 2 kicker cvr's. I want something louder that hits harder but ive read the q's are more of a sq sub (which i want better sq too) so i didnt know if i should go with the Bl's or the q's My goal is louder than the kickers with better sound quality so any opinions?
