Hey all, wanted to say thanks for anyone who's helped me out in the past few months. I sold my Xplods and ordered 2 Fi Q 15's moments ago. I'm going to be building a 7cuft ported box tuned to 32Hz and I'm ordering the wiring and amplifier within the next few weeks. So excited I can hardly stand it Meanwhile I am bassless but I think it is worth the wait!

So I'm not looking to spend thousands of dollars I was looking at a hifonics bxi 2610d It's a 2600w amp But I'm not sure about hifonics ive had mixed feeling about them. Can anyone help me out?

so how do you "break in" a ne sub? i relly wanna know thanks in advance

Hey Fi Audio, I ordered the wrong subs. I wanted the SSD 12'' instead of the IB3 12'' can you guys please switch my order and let me know how to pay for it. Or just use the money i already paid and switch the subs and not worry about the 20$ i owe you . Alright just let me know what i need to do to switch out the orders. I really want the SSDs

Ok, ive been talked into a 18" BTL over the 15".. my price range isnt a ton for an amp to power it. So far the only thing that has caught my eye is a Sundown SAZ1500D, can get it used from a guy down the street from me for about $270 with a few minor scratches... Ive been told HIfonics CAN be good if you get the right one.. what is the right one? IS there any other brands of affordable amps out there? I want the Sundown 2000D or the 3500D but new price is over budget for me.. what do you guys suggest? I ordered a recone and found that i didnt have the money for shipping to the facility, I need to cancel my order for my recone kit and get a refund. I have full intentions to recone the subwoofer, just not right now.

ok i ordered two 12" black "Fi"day x series woofers. should i put them in a ported or sealed box? i can locate the recommended volume. if ported would be better what should i tune the box to. also what should i set my crossover frequency at. i will not use bass boost at all in fact my bass on my headunit will be -2 and 0 on my amp. depending on what i tune my box to i will set my subsonic filter 2hz less than that. i just want the most output possible from the woofers without risking damaging them

So back on 12/7 i received my two 12" Qs and one of them was damaged from UPS! Called up Fi and Scott answered the phone. He told me to just set the damaged sub outside for next day pick up and he would start making a new one. All I have to say is wow, because Fi has already shipped the new sub to me and its only been two days. Thanks Fi your customer service ROCKS!!

What size box do yall recommend

The competition at Indianapolis for DBDrag on February 26th had 5 competitors in the Street B class. Including myself, we all had trunk cars. I wasn't planning on running DBDrag (only bassrace) at first cause I found out I'd have to disconnect my rear two batteries for the Street B class. Well then I started watching the qualifying runs and saw three 137s, and one guy with a 140.1. I knew my N2s on my AQ 3500.1 would hit near the 142 range, so I ran to Ace Hardware, bought some bolts, and disconnected my rear batteries. Since I qualified so late, none of the Street B guys even knew I was in there class. I think my qualifying score was a 141.9. When it came time in …

I did a search for warranty, but ended up finding more threads talking about amp warranties than Fi sub warranties. I have a few pic's of one of the tinsel leads in my Fi Q15 that worked itself loose. Everything else on the sub is good and the VC looks perfect, it's just this one tinsel lead that came loose. I remember seeing a thread about a user that had some BTL's that had tinsel lead slap issue's. Are the tinsel leads in Fi woofers ever going to be wooven into the spider?

Haven't heard from Nick or Scott in awhile, so I am checking up to see if my BTL has been rebuilt yet or not. I understand that yall are busy, but I emailed you twice, and the last thing you said to me about 2 weeks ago in your last email, was that it would be done nearly 2 weeks ago. Just give me an update is all I ask, and please don't take this as me getting hostile or an attitude with you. I just ordered a 15" BL with cooling, flatwind, and unversal. Along with a recone kit for a 12" RE SX sub that I will sell after I recone it. So that 15" BL will be powered by a RF T10001BD whenever I get the amp back from RF, warranty work... That BL will go in my Scion tC, hopefully I will manage to build a 3.5cuft box and do an external tube port, and port that to 30hz. The reason why I want to do tube port is so that I can change it and tune it higher for competitions. I'm just hoping that that box can fit since the Scion tC trunks are kinda small. so im thinking about getting a ssd 12 or 15 for christmas so i still got a few mouths to choose but my question is how much of a difference would i hear between a ssd 12 or 15 compared to my alpine type r 10 that i have right now. the amp i have now is a alpine mrp-m500 and idk what amp i would upgrade to. also would i need any upgrades to my electrical its stock right now? my car is a 1997 honda accord.

I know this is WAY out the question, but I would love to see some of Scott's prototypes. I bet their has been some cool looking stuff that just didn't make it to production. Maybe we can get a little peak of some? I could totally understand if its not possible. But maybe some older stuff that doesn't really matter anymore.

I;m trying to buy an 18ssd and put it in my acura. The only way to really do so is to use tube ports instead of slotted to decrease the volume of the box. I dont really know how to do it. i went to this site called klaus audio and it designed one for me. I however don't know if it is legit. Alright so i have been thinking of buying an 10" FI Q sub and i am quite positive that its what i want. But the only downside is that i have no idea about the size of the amp that would be a good size for this, and also the right gauge wire.. my cousin is going to help me with installation, but first i would like some suggestions for wiring and amps. So I've searched this subject just can't seem to find an answer. I have a 15" SSD basket and motor(double stack), how can I tell what coil was in it before? I don't want to buy the wrong coil and it not fit as FI says the flatwind coil option has an upgraded motor. Thanks in advance!

im not sure if my sub is in need for a recone or not, but there was smoke and the dreaded smell. The weird thing is the coils measure at 1.7 ohms on one side and 1.5 on the other. I looked at em and they seem to be a lil burnt. The sub still plays but its not as loud as it was and theres distortion on certain low and higher-mid notes. Iv not yet gotten to finish upgrading my electrical, been waiting on batteries, then gotta order a ho alt. Big 3 is done tho. amp is a Powerbass Xa-3000D "internals still look new" Knu 1/0 wiring gains were set all the way down most of the time, then at 1/4 and last at half. So yesterday I finally got around to making a new box for my 12'' Fi Q D2. The box came out great, but when I went to put the Q in I noticed one of the tinsel leads was broken at the end where it connects to the terminal. I'm not sure how or when it happened. The gain on my amp (US amps XT4000D, 1500rms @ 1 ohm) is set about half way up and the bass boost is off. My question is what can I do about this? repair it? send it back for repair? Any help is appreciated, thanks

I am currently in the process of building my dream system in my dream car (1970 olds). My experience with sound systems is limited to small amps and subs, never anything as big or expensive as I am attempting now. I am purchasing 2 12'' dual 1 ohm BTLs (as an spl driver) with all the trimmings and the option in the recommended enclosure shown in the cut sheets that are provided in the Tech forum.
