General Fi

I have had my BTL for less than 1 year and it is now dead. I had it powered by a zx2500.1and it is in a properly sized and tuned box.. NO bass boost, subsonic on, gain 1/2 way up. The spider is ripped a little bit but I can not see any other damage. IT does smell funny. I am a responsible user and did not abuse the sub whatsoever. I have been installing and using car audio for years,. Does Fi have some kind of warranty, Can I send it back for a recone? I would appreciate any input. THanks

i had tried and tried to remove this dust cap on my other Q cuz i have one with a cracked dust cap but works fine and i have one that looks perfect but the tinsel lead is fried i wanna replace the cracked dc with the good one so when i send it in both are ready to roll when i gets it back.... i CANNOT for the life of me get it off its like freakin godzilla glued to the cone ....100% relentless swear to god any tips?

I recently clamped my amp for my two BTL N2s, impedance started at .7 (no box rise ftw) and ended up at 4.5 ohms!! That's a huge jump. Dr. Boom also has bad impedance rise, he's only getting 5k out of his 6 SAZ-3500s. Maybe it's just coincidence but I was comparing the BTLs specs to other subwoofers specs and BTLs have a much lower Qes that any other I seen. They still get extremely loud on low power so maybe they are very efficient due to low Qes. Can anyone chime in? Oh, box for mine is 4.2 cubes, 33hz, single 6" aero. Dr Booms, dont know volume, but tuned to 33hz also.

I sent my subs out to get reconed by Fi. I bought the 2 reconing kits and what not but my question is do i have to pay for the sub to get returned to me or did they add that into the price. I did select the option to send my sub in.

Was thinking, and wondering if Fi has contemplated making some ear buds? I know myself, and many others i'm sure would be all over them. I have no doubt they would sell like hotcakes. I would love to see some high quality buds in the future. With awesome drivers, and a better cord then {others} with maybe a "Fi" logo built in anyways, those are my thoughts.

Its been 2 weeks sense i bought my sub and i still haven't got a email or anything so i was wondering if everything was ok. My name is Kasey Cavyell.

I did a search for warranty, but ended up finding more threads talking about amp warranties than Fi sub warranties. I have a few pic's of one of the tinsel leads in my Fi Q15 that worked itself loose. Everything else on the sub is good and the VC looks perfect, it's just this one tinsel lead that came loose. I remember seeing a thread about a user that had some BTL's that had tinsel lead slap issue's. Are the tinsel leads in Fi woofers ever going to be wooven into the spider?

I have a Memphis 16-mc2000d mojo amp. I also have a FI BTL loaded This sub is dual 2 ohm. I wired it in series so the amp sees 4 ohms. I have it in a 7.5 cube box tuned to 40HZ However when I really get this thing kicking it sounds like it cannot handle the power. Any suggestions, I know this sub can take all that this amp can give it???

Hey guys, i had some concerns about my future system. I'm planning to get an FI SP4 18, AQ3500.1D, and a high output alternator 200@idle and 375 max in the very near future. I can't wait to get it, but now I've ran into another problem. My powerbass oem replacement components and coaxials just aren't going to cut it. I'm planning on running 3000rms to the sub. About how much power would i need in some new tweeters and components, etc., to even out the sound? I don't want to hear JUST bass, i would like some nice highs and mids to come close to match it. Any power, speaker, amp, etc., suggestions would be appreciated.

Curious as to what would get louder. Figure the 2 SSD's would get louder but I have always wanted a BTL. I have tons of space in my man van to use, if I remember, roughly 40 ish cubes for a box. Subs would be powered off a Crescendo 3k. My current electrical system is a stock 90 amp alt, which will be replaced with a 270 amp alt. Have a kinetik HC1400 for the front and a HC2400 for the back, probably pick up another HC2400. So, roughly with that information, and lets say that the BTL and the SSD's are in boxes tuned to 32ish hz, in there ideal space how much louder would the 2 15"s be? Thanks, Luke.

I have the choice of buying a Hifonics 1210 at a discounted price, a Kicker 1500.1, or my personal fave the Audioque 1200D. The kicker isn't 1 ohm stable and I have a dual 2 ohm Q coming in. The hifonics isn't reliable at one ohm from what i've seen/researched Audioque, I heard nothing but great reviews for. Thanks guys

Props to FI,as i said we are getting ready for a 3x dbdrag in Pa. so i slapped a box together to give me a starting point,lol,,and i didnt expect much out of it because we hadent tuned the encloser in yet as to my suprise it burped a 148.3 in the zx3...enough said i couldnt ask for a better starting point...i think if i can stabalize my voltage and build a few more boxes i should be able to run into the 50s.

car is a 02 cadillac deville, 1 15 d1 btl on strapped saz1500ds, subsonic all the way down to like 15, gain at a little lower than half. box is a chambered t line built by rich which i think is in the neighborhood if 30-36 hz tuning. i have a EQ with 8v preouts, HU is a max675vd. i think i need some guidance to set amps before i order a recone or try to replace the lead itself. volume on the hu 27 out 33... but the volume on the EQ is almost all the way up.

Just had my system installed yesterday the 26th. I finished my custom box, carpeted and everything. Its 2.3cuft tuned to 33hz and its ported. I have a stinger amp kit, all 0 gauge. I also have a 250amp fuse. My system includes one 12in fi bl fully loaded, and a sundown sae1200d, which is capable of producing 1500 watts rms at 1ohm. This is my first system. OHH and i also purchased a line driver from jl that was like 200 bucks. Anyway my system HITS HARDDD Aas HELLLL. It freaken vibrates the cars around me. I annoy people alott on the street. Did a revamp today of my pop's explorer. It had 3 RE XXX 15's. We swapped out for 3 Fi Q 15's with the BP Power Package, and he loves the new subs. Old Setup New Setup Please excuse the mess, I had a little grinding to do on one spot for the subs to fit normally, instead of inverted, and I really like it alot better, and so does Pop. I have money to order a Sub finally. I always seen videos of people fi btls breaking every part of their car. My friend has a JL audio w7 2x 12". Im looking to go bigger and better. Although upon purchasing a FI BTL , there are so many types and ' add-ons +$'. I dont know what to get I want 1x Fi Btl 15" in a 2002 Ford Taurus SES. Anyhelp? What amp? Anything?

So yesterday I finally got around to making a new box for my 12'' Fi Q D2. The box came out great, but when I went to put the Q in I noticed one of the tinsel leads was broken at the end where it connects to the terminal. I'm not sure how or when it happened. The gain on my amp (US amps XT4000D, 1500rms @ 1 ohm) is set about half way up and the bass boost is off. My question is what can I do about this? repair it? send it back for repair? Any help is appreciated, thanks

hey everyone. I currently have a 1 15" BL, but im getting a new car in a bit, so im looking at getting 2 12" ssd. I had a debate between SSD or the HDC. I know a big!! difference but im running them off a aq1200d that i have now so i figured i wont be upgrading power in a while. And if i got a aq2200d do you think i would be safe with the 2 12" ssds still ? Im guessing the ssd would move more than hdc with only 600 rms on each? Do you think the 2 12" ssd will be louder than the 15 BL because of cone area? thnx guys, sorry if they are stupid questions lol

Hello. I have only recently entered the world of Fi. Before the BL came out, when I was first looking around, there was another line of subwoofers. Are these still available thru Fi or not? Fella's i was wondering about the decals from FI. I want to purchase the white decal so it will show on the rear window of my car but which color do i choose on the page here to get the white decal? Also the ones they send with your purchase dont work at all. How do you get the to not show the rear when installing them on your car?
